- So I assumed we had come to the end with hidden skeletons with the X5.. well thats a lie, I was not under the illusion that this guy hadn't lied about anything else. So today we have found ANOTHER thing which this guy has just completely lied to me about, and this time with written evidence over messages.
The guy had the audacity to tell me he's linked it up to a trailer and all the electrics work, well guess what.. we link it up to the trailer, and none of the electrics work, and they haven't worked for a very long time considering the mother board is completely rusted and theres no fuse in there.
We are trailering the car TODAY, lets see if we can get this fixed.
What a nice guy he must of been! Imagine if he had sold it to someone who wasn't mechanically minded! Shame there are people like that out there!

Sold as seen means it's the purchaser's responsibility once the deal is done and it's pretty much sorted now for a few quid,what do you expect from a 20yr old machine?

Whether you buy privately or from a trader, you are entitled to expect that the vehicle is roadworthy, unless you and the seller clearly agree it is bought for scrap or for spares and repair

ok so the reality of what you have bought.....19 year old car.....cheap......looking at the state of the suspension struts...very much unloved. Personally I would have walked away rather than buying it. Especially as you want you use it for towing.
Obviously brakes were not right and I would have taken it back right then.
It made me laugh when you said that at least its low mileage!!!!!really you believe that.....anyway good luck with it all.....just hope you picked up for less than 2k

Lee you only needed the module from another x5 didn't need to do all that wiring I did my dad's few weeks back got one from scrap yard little white box and made sure fuse was in on right hand side
Why buy an x5 anyway when you have a Land Rover discovery which can tow anything. Just wasted money buying an x5. An now wasting even more. Just use the discovery and sell the x5

Quick tip, grab some crocodile clips for the multimeter, some stables, bend the stables and clamp them onto the crocodile clips. You can then prob the smallest spaces

Been there, the guy was honest, he said they don't stock much, they use only orders and get motor factors to deliver, hence they want you to order and pick up when it comes in.

Lee, welcome to the wonderful world of older BMW’s built after the year 2000. These cars need to be maintained and this will cost you an arm and a leg. That is why most people don’t bother once the car is over 4 years old.they sell the car and the next owner usually won’t maintain it as well. And somewhere someone ends up with a money pit.

How much did you pay for the X5 mate you can't move that somebody has lied for a car for that price of course it's going to be something wrong with that you should have checked knowing your background you are great with cars I have an X5 myself and had the same issue most problems you have found you will need a car lift to find them you cannot expect a seller to have checked the car over 100% before selling I can guarantee most of the cars you have sold will probably have underlying problems but you are not aware of please show me a vehicle for sale that has not one thing wrong with it even one of the Showroom have problems within a month think you're looking too much into it bro once it's fixed it's a bargain you bought your Mustang with no dashboard and no heater matrix just shocked that you're amazed at this this far on absolutely love the video bro I am subscribed and will continue to follow you anything you want to know with your X5 please ask I know it like the back of my hand

That's a bit extreme,when you're buying 20yr old second hand motors you expect to encounter issues, it's the buyers responsibility to check over the vehicle and decide whether to purchase then once it's sold as seen it's then their problem.
think i have seen a tester that fits the tow plug and shows if theres power i guess but i have no idea where i saw it and obviously no use to you now. i hate electrics. them splice blocks i hear arent that good but you could always upgrade them at a later date, nice job with the fix though

Remember my mate asked me to go look at cars with him they were on gumtree . I went to see a Mercedes Benz it started off okay drove fine checked the coolant tank .there was bubbles oil in the expansion tank .. water started pishing every were. he said me wife filled the oil in the wrong hole I walked away .he phones my mate when are you picking car up the shockers I went to.see was unbelievable 😂😂 .it's really hard these days getting genuine sellers that owned the car for years .gumtree and market place are full of scum selling Dodgy cars.i.did find a nice 2004 seat Ibiza sport.. from market place for another friend that was luck it was a good car

How hard was the trailer license
UK changed the towing rules now, so anyone that passed after Jan 1997 can now tow up to 3.5 tonnes so you don't a separate license anymore
