Thank you very much for sharing. I grown in Spain but always my grandmas bami was present. My father cooked it too but he has lost memory and I haven' t all the ingredients in my head. Sambal oelek he loves it. Dank u veel😊
The Dutch oven :) Never realised that. My mom would call this a "braadpan" or maybe "stoofpan". Very nice to watch recipes from home. I am Dutch living in Spain.
Same! I love Sambal Bajak! Use it on almost everything and order it online. I also use fresh ginger and usually Pork, but my daughter doesn't eat pork, so am trying this recipe with Chicken this time. I will try using the turmeric too! My mother in law, from Malaang Indonesia, and later Holland, used to make this for us , but I'm trying to enhance her original recipe. She didn't like all the spice in the dish and I do!
True, we can be creative when cooking Bami Goreng (it's Bakmi Goreng actually), so using beef instead of chicken will work just fine, but usually we cut the beef chunky not grounded. My family recipe for Bakmi Goreng is very simple, - Garlic - White/black pepper - Oyster sauce/soy sauce - Ketjap Manis (Bango is the best brand so far ^^) - Candlenut (not mandatory) We also like to add scramble egg to the bakmi goreng.
Beautiful, I left NL as a child but when I go back I love getting "Bami blok" (a paralelogram of spicy bami deep fried like a kroket) at the Automatiek or *gasp* the gas station. How would you make Bami Blok?
This looks so tasty!! I have bought Indonesian food from food trucks, but have never tried to make it myself. I will look for a store that sells katjup manis. I love your stylish veggie scrap bin. Do you compost the veggie scraps or save them for making stock?
Use Sriracha for Sambal, and for Ketjap Manis: www.amazon.co.uk/Sweet-Sauce-Kecap-Manis-275ml/dp/B08525DY3B/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=ketjap+manis&qid=1616885130&sr=8-1
I made this but used chicken breast for the meat. We LOVED it and will definitely make it again and again. (so different from the Bami recipe I used to use with the Conimex spices.)
Oh for the love of god buy a wok?? Watching you mash the shit out of those noodles trying to heat them was painfull. You said the pan was hot yet i didnt see a brown onion in sight; meat stewed in its own grey water. Turn your heat up or just buy a wok(not aluminium). The coander effect distributes the heat evenly. And its faster than trying to turn things over in a deep pan only to mash it like a huge mistake??
Many thanks. I love your channel and they way you clearly explain things.
You’re welcome! I am so happy to hear you love our channel!

Yeah, a stoofpan. Here in d]the US it’s called a Dutch Oven… no idea why :). Thanks for the kind words
I’ve been learning dutch for almost 2 years now, I’m stoked to try this!!
So glad to hear that! Let me know how it comes out.
Mooi so!😂 baie geluk.
Wow, this looks delicious, thank you for sharing.
Thanks!! It is quite good, if I may say so myself. And easy to make
So good! The only thing I changed was Bajak instead of oelek. I also added fresh ginger and turmeric... I’m making bami hapjes with left overs 😀👍
I am so glad you liked it!! Did you eat it with Pilaf?
@@ToinesKitchen we sure did, it was a perfect combination!
Same. I much prefer badjak as it is sweeter and a bit thicker.

Really enjoy your videos -- hope you can make one about making a good saté saus
Thanks!! I have chicken saté with sauce on my list of recipes to make!
@@ToinesKitchen awesome, thanks -- alvast bedankt : )
I thought it was sambal brandal (not oelek) for a bami. Thank you very much for sharing an outstanding recipe.
You’re very welcome!
Much more tastyer than oelek
Looks so good and delicious ♥️♥️
Thank you so much!! If you make it, let me know how it came out :)

I know im late but if you coat the noodles with a little bit of oil when you take them out, they dont stick together as much
This looks so tasty!! I have bought Indonesian food from food trucks, but have never tried to make it myself. I will look for a store that sells katjup manis. I love your stylish veggie scrap bin. Do you compost the veggie scraps or save them for making stock?
Thanks! we have never composted before, but I have been thinking about doing that.... I do use scraps for making broths from time to time.
is very good👍👍👍🙏🙏
Thanks
Yummy very good and tasty
Thanks, Jenny!
This one looks super tasty, I love a little heat in my food. I fear some ingredients might be tough to find.

@@ToinesKitchen Brill, thank you 😊
perfect
Mantap
Terima kasih
The sweet soy saus I found that in a Chinees grocery store.
Yeah that is very similar to ketjap Manis.
Yummie 😋
I think so :)
We always made it with pork tenderloin
I made this but used chicken breast for the meat. We LOVED it and will definitely make it again and again. (so different from the Bami recipe I used to use with the Conimex spices.)
I’m so glad to hear you liked it!!
Eet smakelijk
Dankjewel!!
Just use a wadjan or a wok
I never heard of bami with ground beef. I rather make mine with chicken.
This is my family’s recipe, and we like it with beef.
I do make kip sate with the bami with kroepoek on the side! That is why I like to make mine with chicken. But every body makes it to there likeing.
Beef!?
Why throw d green part of leek 😢 it’s garnish, make food pretty 😢
