I, too grew up with these pancakes made by my grandmother. We adored them - we loved the pink ones made with cochineal. I have tried and tried to replicate them but, you know, they are never as good! So, I shall give this a try. THANK YOU!

We make the same with jaggery and coconut with cashew and rasins. This is my grandmas favourite during my vacations with her. Urs is a wonderful innovation most classy. My grandma calls it stuffed pancakes. Sometimes she stuffs it with minced meat.

Hi Shirley , I’ve added desiccated coconut along with fresh granted coconut because the desiccated coconut will absorb any juices that may come out of the fresh coconut. It also helps to keep the filling nice and firm since we add condensed milk as our sweetener. Using desiccated coconut will help to keep the pancakes in shape without getting soggy..
