I still think they should do this 'endless shrimp' promotion but with a time limit or during a special. I believe this will bring ppl back and then they can see the new items and ambience.
I agree. I think endless shrimp could help when sales are a little sluggish. I am guessing there is market analysis that can tell them what parts of the year sales are a little slow. I would also limit endless shrimp so that customers have to buy an entree or two to get the unlimited shrimp deal, or make unlimited shrimp from 4-6pm.
@@v.a.993 Yea idk why the didn't just make the endless shrimp an add on for an Entree. Pretty obvious that the Entree will fill them up and if not then at least they got the $15-$25 extra to make up for the lost shrimp

Congrats to the new CEO! While endless shrimp was bankrupting them, it's the only reason I went. The menu is too expensive otherwise. Nearly $1/shrimp with the shrimp your way options, too rich for my blood, I'm out. Will be interesting to see how much of their business was as a result of the endless shrimp deal.
Exactly. The whole point of endless shrimp was to get people to come to the restaurant and expect them to order other things on top of it so it'll still be net positive at the end. Its like how Costco keeps the rotessertie chicken and hotdog/drink meal the same for decades. People go in to buy those but they'll leave with way more so it's net positive for the company. The biggest issue with endless shrimp is it's an expensive protein.
When the chain was owned by their biggest shrimp supplier, that was when "endless shrimp" was made permanent, in a huge conflict of interest, making a "loss leader" limited time item for the chain into a direct money-maker for them...
A lot of microwaves in that kitchen. If your idea is microwaving frozen foods is going to turn red lobster around. Honestly think again. Have faith in your chefs
CEO actually giving a lesson on how to make the cheddar bay biscuits?? He was giving her directions. Even if he was maybe reading it off, that’s great to be hands on
I still think they need to do the shrimp but i agree not a permanent thing. It should be a promotion and controlled. But those biscuits are the krim of the crop.
Those biscuits are smaller now and they just bring out 4 at a time. Something has changed with them, even Texas Roadhouse changed theirs and they are nothing but tasteless yeast rolls. They don't serve the brown pumpernickel anymore either.
How about cleaning the place? The dining rooms are Grose, and the wait staff should take notes from in the form of silent service. People go to restaurants gather with the people there with not to be pestered with questions of... How's it tasting? There's a big handful of chain restaurants I won't go to because of these two factors. Sticky chairs, carpet, and tables and zero wow from the wait staff. Because it is a reliable indicator of how the rest of my experience is going to go. The customers are the ones spending $30-$50 dollars a plate. What makes you worthy to get it from them?
I have not eaten there for about 8 years, unless the new menu is actually better you're not missing much. Except for the biscuits, those are amazing. But you can also just buy the mix in the grocery store lol
Why don't they incentivize people to share their experiences by giving each one of them a few dollars off the bill? Use that data to see where the issues are. When you get thousands of feedback from real customers daily, it's going to be very easy to see the points that need improvement.
People generally go to Red Lobster for a finer dining experience. This guy has it all wrong trying to make it a discount dining experience and changing the lighting which people that haven't been there won't even know about . Make this place a fine dining experience once again I will pay for that
To be honest you never really cared about the restaurants that begin with just want take advantage of it because of that not saying you wrong cause do same thing but I like red lobster before that endless shrimp
I certainly can't speak for all the restaurants. But the one in my town was pretty meh and very expensive. Unlimited shrimp was the only reason I even considered going. But even then there are better seafood options in my town.
I think Jon might struggle with this job. It's out of his league. Dealing with SEC, Auditors, investors, and franchisors. He'd be a great COO though steering the company.
When you find out where the shrimp came from, you wont eat there again. The Shrimp deal had nothing to do with them going bankrupt either. Good luck to the young man though.
I knew it. They did a special on him before. BUT WITH A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT!!!! I was like I watch this a year ago??? But no!! Dudes 2nd time being a CEO for a Major restaurant Chain. And he’s 35 lol. The other special I watched was on him being young and the CEO of PF Changs.
They can afford to do the endless sheimp beciase shrimp isnt caught in the gulf anymore. Its all farmed ocerseas in Indonesia. They learned how to mass prodce it and now shrimp is actually cheap
Can't tell from this short clip. Being CEO is tough - dealing with SEC, investors, franchisors (if it's franchised), auditors, steering company correctly. Most CEO's are worth 200k a year, a good ceo is worth multiple millions (possibly billions in pay). The difference in CEO quality is huge. Also - could he start his own business and make more money or take it public in an IPO? If the answer is yes, being CEO is holding him back. If the answer is no, he's probably in 100k-200k a year club and really should consider leaving his position. He should definitely go on tv though, it's free advertisement and good publicity for company.
ONLY WENT FOR ENDLESS SHRIMP IM SURE THERES ALOT OF PEOPLE LIKE ME I WILL BE CURIOUS TO SEE HOW THEY DO CAUSE IM SURE THAT WAS ATLEAST 33 PERCENT OF THE BUSSINESS
well no longer even doing the unlimited shrimp on monday has lead from me going there once in a while to never going there. Also lobsterfest and Crabfest are nothing. They just add some pasta or a potato and charge you $45. I can already do that on their menu the fest does nothing. The first crabfest made sense because it was endless crab, but like the shrimp they underpriced it and got taken for a ride. fr though I can go to the store and get a 1lb lobster for $8. Same lobster will cost $40 at red lobster. For me to go out to a place like this I'd either need high quality or high quantity and neither of those are found at the place that fills the niche above long john silvers.
Last time I went to Red Lobster was like 4 years ago and the turn off was the biscuits believe it or not they were still as delicious here’s my turn off on the biscuits when you get your food they give you two per person then when you ask for more they never came with them thier excuse was thier in the oven still 🤨🤔😮 Hmmmm
"Those are great looking biscuits!" 👀 Sir H.R. would like to have a word with you! 😂
As a former employee red lobster had some amazing dishes they must bring back Like Dragon Broccoli
Sweet chili shrimp
Yucatán tilapia
Smashed Potatoes
Yes!!! This
I never had the Dragon Broccoli! I would want to try that! YUM!

I love going to Red Lobster. No complaints here.

My local red lobster closed. I love seafood. This is sad. Red Lobster was never supposed to be a buffet. Hope the new guy does a better job.
I can't remember the last time I have eaten at Red Lobster! I'm excited to check it out! 😋
Have faith in your chefs
those are not microwaves, those are industrial ovens
also, it's called a "test kitchen" for a reason
Obvious you never worked in a kitchen 😂😂
CEO actually giving a lesson on how to make the cheddar bay biscuits?? He was giving her directions. Even if he was maybe reading it off, that’s great to be hands on
Endless shrimp is the only reason why I used to go to red lobster good luck seeing me there
I go there for the cheddar biscuits. They sell boxed mix at grocery stores, but it’s not the same.
@@lang-ed3bkyea it’s not the same, it can be much better if you know how to tweak it.
OP you need to stop crying and man up sonny boy
Congratulations! You're a calculated acceptable loss
You and your mentality are a loss for the company. And a primary reason they fell into bankruptcy. They don't care lol
I still think they need to do the shrimp but i agree not a permanent thing. It should be a promotion and controlled. But those biscuits are the krim of the crop.
Or a time limit, some people went in during lunch time and left at closing. Would sit for several hours just getting more and more shrimp.
@@akui88 i agree its like buffets. you have to leave or pay the dinner price if you at lunch.
Those biscuits are smaller now and they just bring out 4 at a time. Something has changed with them, even Texas Roadhouse changed theirs and they are nothing but tasteless yeast rolls. They don't serve the brown pumpernickel anymore either.
And as for the restaurant called Red Lobster they will have a new chief executive officer in charge.
Many years ago RL actually had FRIED FISH Dishes on the Menu. When they stopped offering fried seafood, hurt their business. Fact.
Endless shrimp lost money but leveraged buy out tactics that turned an asset into a liability was probably pretty important
"Fat "Al poked his head out for a second and "skinny" Al checked him real Quick
I am so happy they are coming back!

Do people REALLY still eat cheap, FROZEN seafood like it’s still 1983?!?!
Yes … in the Midwest it’s still a thing …
@ 🤷🏼♂️😂🤷🏼♂️😂🤷🏼♂️😂
I want this man to make millions as CEO. He can have an extra dollar per meal. It's that beard that gives me confidence.
Shrimp should not even be that expensive. They wanna charge outrageous prices for shrimp just because it’s seafood
I have never ate at a red lobster and I’m 37 years old
I have not eaten there for about 8 years, unless the new menu is actually better you're not missing much. Except for the biscuits, those are amazing. But you can also just buy the mix in the grocery store lol
Bro definitely got this ❤
So he's the reason there's no more crab pasta at my local Red Lobster😂
Why is RedLobster only serving the lobster tail and not the whole lobster 🦞?
They use the other parts for lobster pastas
I don't see the lunch menu...😢😢
It’s there
Bring back the gumbo too!!
Make it buffet style @$55 per person
NEVER . That would open a whole NEW can of worms.
He should do a show where he rescues restaurants.
I didn't hear anything about the staff....
This is that one restaurant ive always said ill goto someday and never have. Hopefully they can survive so i can keep it on my bucket list.
Simpsons called it

Someone brilliant hired this new CEO! likability sells.
If I wanna go back to Red Lobster again, I won't mind having endless fried popcorn or regular shrimp
The seafood tastes rubbery
Brunch Menu plus a After Hours Menu with in house DJ. I'd recommend
I love that Al Roker has been quietly boycotting Red Lobster since they abandoned the hush puppies. 😂
I think George Costanza is to blame.

I only went to red lobster for the endless and nothing else
That's fine
55 shrimp is my record
I’m glad it’s here to stay
For now
My faith in the future generations is at least partially restored
biscuits and hush puppies are cheap. get people to fill up on those
I like this new CEO!
1:30 - okay but what's the answer?? Give us the $ amount!!
My favorite 😊
Good luck to the NEW Red Lobster. Wish them great success
Frozen everything! I was so disappointed 😢
They can do a different version of endless shrimp. Maybe have a time limit. Like 2 hours that other all you can eat places have
Yes. Dont let them close
Bigger shrimp would be nice.
No endless shrimp, no deal.
IDC about anything else but when I was pregnant there was frequent trips there for a dozen of them cheddar bay boys lol. Don't judge me 😂😂😂
Endless Shrimp is done makes me Sad. That’s the only reason I would go.
To be honest you never really cared about the restaurants that begin with just want take advantage of it because of that not saying you wrong cause do same thing but I like red lobster before that endless shrimp

CLEANLINESS. My past experience at the La Mesa, Ca was that the restaurant was dirty and smelled dirty. Cleanliness is key .
Do whatever you want. I want servings to match the price.
Change the lettering in the logo. Looks like you're going into a doctors office.
I'm sure he will do the job. But their second choice should of been Jon taffer.
I think Jon might struggle with this job. It's out of his league. Dealing with SEC, Auditors, investors, and franchisors. He'd be a great COO though steering the company.
They got rid of crab Alfredo so I’m out
Juggalo’s have been trying to help Red Lobster’s business by doing their annual meetups there
im a current employee if anyone has questions that arent too confidential
Did they take out the microwaves? No seafood restaurant should have microwaves!
