@NEW OctanGaming234 To be fair flying any plane bear same risks. an airbus pilot is just as qualified as a boeing pilot. Nothing different in skill when needed in an emergency, just some procedures are laid back.
Wow - nearly 30 minutes and only seemed like ten! Very enjoyable, interesting and informative, thank you. 🙂🙃 .... and I managed to avoid saying - how time flies. I didn't quite think that through! 😂
The perfect example of losing two engines was Capt. Sully Sullenberg's ditching in the Hudson river!. He showed all of us pilots how to think outside of the box. Prior to his ditching, I would not have thought to ditch in a body of water (river, lake ocean). As a B-767 Captain, I have now brought this possibility into my thought process on takeoffs!
Hello DPG I’m a flight instructor and corporate pilot in the states and really like your videos. I just finished training a young Russian lady to get her Flight Instructor license and shared your videos with her. Excellent quality on your video production. Blessings on your career in life
For those who missed it, Michelle answered most of those questions in depth in her great collab with Mentour Pilot, especially the "being a girl in a guys' environment" kind of question. I'm watching this one and I'll watch the next ones, too, but that collab adds a whole bunch to basically every answer.
Yes us Americans have to have 1500 hours to apply to the regional airlines. The major airlines have higher requirements but it depends on the airline. You can get into with less than 1500 hours based on having an avation degree or prior military flight training
@@joeboi1342 to my best knowledge the university has to be approved by the FAA. Which university's are approved? Besides the big name Embry riddle and UND I am not sure. I would reseach restricted atp. That is what gets you around the 1500 hour rule.
@@joeboi1342 you asked this question ages ago, but I happen to be taking my daughter to a college visit tomorrow - and she is going for an "aviation" major. The schools she is looking at (WMU, Perdue, Embry Riddle, etc) have several aviation-type majors. Some call the major you would think of as "flying" something like Aviation Science or Aviation Flight Science. Those degrees include all the courses necessary to get all the way through commercial and multi-engine training, and then ATP. Then you can "major" in specific types of aircraft or careers. Or take them as electives - even things like aerobatics or float planes are electives. And for that reason, yes, these majors can start flying with fewer hours IF they complete the entire degree program. It's called an R-ATP program or Restricted Airline Transport Pilot certificate and allows pilots to be certified with fewer hours.
I remember you describing how your Grandfather was instrumental in your career. Is he still alive today? I know how proud he is of you and your accomplishments. between 2001 and 2003 I used to travel at least twice a year between europe and america, and once I used Delta with a stop in the Philadelphia airport, which is huge... and during this trip I will always remember that when I was on a Boing (I don't remember the number but it has a big bump in front as the 2nd floor), and when we takeoff the way the pilot put the gas on, I felt pleasantly pushed in my seat, that was the first time I felt that...what a powerful plane, with 2 engines on each wing...WHAT A FEELING. I LOVED IT !!!
Michelle, I know you’re probably sick of hearing it, but you are such a lovely, kind hearted and generous person. Not to mention so beautiful. Above all you seem very professional, which I wouldn’t expect less from a pilot. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for these videos. Having raised daughters who all teach plus my wife taught many years it's very clear that you have a natural ability to teach. You voice is very pleasant and smooth with that gorgeous Dutch accent. I pray that you have a happy, healthy and blessed aviation career. I've been to 164 nations and 48 states on business so when I retired last Autumn my travel agent computed that I had flown over 8,250,000 actual miles (about 22M reward miles). Most of that was based in DFW so I got spoiled that I very seldom had to make connections and when I did it was extremely rare to make more than one. We lived in a neighborhood almost exclusively filled with pilots and very senior flight attendants. Many times I knew most of the flight crew so we had lots of fun. Several times they would make wildly funny comments about me if we got into Alert 2 situations in order to try and put the passengers at ease by distracting them just enough.
Great Video DPG. I used to live in Mesa Arizona and I liked checking out Scottsdale a lot that's a great place. I actually have a higher respect for women that are in male-dominated Industries. She didn't get there by accident and is probably better than 70% of the men in that industry. Love, props and respect!
Thank you for sharing some things from you. Impressive! I hope you can make a vlog one day on, the SOP in an aircraft before the pilots and the passengers will be on board and after all the passengers disembark the plane. Thank you and have a nice day 🌹🌹🌹
I really appreciate your videos. I will look forward to the next video. One question I have for you if you can address in your future videos: do you think pilots jobs might be affected by increased use of automation? Are we likely to see self-flying planes in our lifetime? Also, best wishes for not having your life and career disrupted due to the corona virus situation.
Thanks for the info on Phillipines and Thailand, you make a good pitch for those spots. Have travelled a lot, but not to those countries, so on the list now!
Another great video Michelle. My understanding of Autoland, as my pilot friends tell me is that the pilot has to log at least 3 auto landings a year to stay current and most importantly, both the PIC and the aircraft involved must both be rated to do the autoland. It might be different in your airline. Most of the pilots I know who have been an inspiration to my virtual career, are from three British Airlines. As for VPN, there is a school of thought that says that trusting your online security exclusively to any one organisation whether it be NordVPN or any other, is itself a huge risk! You are trusting them with your data in the hope they will not themselves be targeted and you as a customer have to deal with the fall out. I have recently been researching VPN and for me the jury is still out at the moment. But I agree with you about the 737-800. I fly it a lot in the Simulator and I enjoy the flight planning and load management as much as the flying! Trying not to load it out of trim!! Have you ever flown the -900 variant? Any way I have gone on far too long! Keep them coming Michelle. Always learning from your experiences. Lee. UK
Thanks for taking the time to answer all the questions. Would you like to fly a fighter or at least go on a ride with a fighter pilot in his jet? I really like their speed, maneuverbility and all the aerobatics they can do.
First time I heard about North VPN I thought "why should I use it?" but the explanation of open Wifi + danger of sniffers etc. makes it clear it makes sense to use a VPN.
I first saw you with Captain Joe. At first I thought you were just a guest, I had no idea you were such a keen pilot and VERY professional. I'm glad I subscribed to your channel.
I want to live in Tucson and just love that area Tucson is south of Phoenix and if you ever get the chance or perhaps you already have taken the opportunity to go to the airplane graveyard out there, it's just amazing having planes there are
Can you tell us which airline you are flying for now? Would you consider flying a long haul cargo plane in order to keep flying? Beautiful, interesting videos, love it!
Good video, great channel i just suscribed a few days ago, congrats, all the questions where answered in a very inteligent but personal way. Question: what airplane for personal use would you chose, i personally the PC-12 Hi from Chihuahua México
From the «average Joes» perspective and a (PA-28 pilot) I find air crash Investigation interesting because I like to understand what make those incidents happen. As you tell in your video you would like to fly any aircraft that make you learn something new. My question, are there nothing in those series that would be interesting to know for a professional pilot? Have a awesome day Terry
Hi Terry, Commercial Pilots receive training at least every 6 months and during those trainings a lot of stuff is discussed as well as previous accidents and incidents. The simulator training teaches us how to deal with such events. I am sure you can learn a thing or two from the Air Crash Investigation series.
@@DutchPilotGirl Thanks a lot for your rapid response! At a Saturday evening! Awesome! I see your point; I just did not think about your every 6 months training. It seems obvious that your instructors who make the different training scenarios follow what happens out there, and design the training according to that. So, I guess you will get your skills upgraded without knowing. Again thank you for answering! Regards from Norway Terry
Wow this session was really useful to know many things about you. By the way which airport seemed to be the most difficult for landing? It is said that that of Hong Kong is one of such because of its particular location surrounded by the sea and the mountains.
@@DutchPilotGirl Thank you so much Michelle, I just checked your great video about dangerous airports. It is really amazing and very instructive from professional view points. Many thanks! It is surprising to know that ATC in France and Russia use their respective local language for communication with pilots. I thought that communication in English between ATC and pilots is mandatory all over the world except for some emergency case where local pilots need to speak in their local language for smoother and more accurate communication exchange in short time, therefore, I really don't understand how this can be accepted in case of international flights maneuvered by non local pilots, considering the possibility that some eventual miscommunication might cause a fatal incident...anyway it is a famous fact that French people use French everywhere even though they know some another language ( I think younger generations are changing a little bit, though). 1 - 2 years ago I got to know you through a few videos of Captain Joe's channel that I have been following since 2017 but I subscribed to yours only recently ( sorry !) and will start to check your past videos gradually. I had worked in aviation industry ( mainly at airport) for 19 years ( 1992 - 2010) and as its additional related knowledge I have been learning also these matters regarding pilots & aircrafts with pleasure by myself. Thanks again, see you! P. S. I am looking forward to seeing you & Joe together soon on another video 😉

Thank you for sharing some things from you. Impressive! I hope you can make a vlog one day on, the SOP in an aircraft before the pilots and the passengers will be on board and after all the passengers disembark the plane. Thank you and have a nice day 🌹🌹🌹
I learned to fly in Arizona as well I live here and just Private pilot i am so glade more women are flying airliners. GOOD JOB !!!!
Good content 😊 hope to see more of this..
Thanks!
I think I just heard Kelsey from 74 Gear scream YES!!!! from Singapore.
Great video and great content... Really interesting. Thank you Michelle
Hope you're back in the air doing what you love soon!
Thanks, me too!
Thanks for the info on Phillipines and Thailand, you make a good pitch for those spots. Have travelled a lot, but not to those countries, so on the list now!
It's really a pleasure to watch your videos!
Greeting from a grounded student pilot from Arona
Lee. UK
8:25 - Glad to hear that the BS ends at the flight-deck.
Thanks for bring us safe from location to location. A beautiful pilot....
That video is very useful. Thank you Michelle 😁
That’s for your videos, keep them coming.
Thanks for taking the time to answer all the questions. Would you like to fly a fighter or at least go on a ride with a fighter pilot in his jet? I really like their speed, maneuverbility and all the aerobatics they can do.
Thanks for the Q&A. Do you enjoy driving/piloting other vehicles?
Definitely!
Very interesting. Thank you!
What a brilliant video - interesting and informative and all done with a smile
Westworld looks great! Thanks for the recommendation!
Great video ma'am. Your content quality is awesome and is just improving with every video😊
Thanks so much for d video learnt alot
Thank you. Stay healthy.
Yay
My question was answered
😎🤩❤️💙✈️
Thank you so much Dutchpilotgirl
You're welcome!
First time I heard about North VPN I thought "why should I use it?" but the explanation of open Wifi + danger of sniffers etc. makes it clear it makes sense to use a VPN.
Soon I might start flight school in Arizona, it’s a great place to start your career
Good luck with your training!
Thank you, I originally was actually born in Arizona but now currently in Chicago, but I’m moving back, Arizona has the best flying weather year round
Thank you Michelle. Very interesting chat. Jim. UK.
I first saw you with Captain Joe. At first I thought you were just a guest, I had no idea you were such a keen pilot and VERY professional. I'm glad I subscribed to your channel.
I want to live in Tucson and just love that area Tucson is south of Phoenix and if you ever get the chance or perhaps you already have taken the opportunity to go to the airplane graveyard out there, it's just amazing having planes there are
Nice segue into the VPN promo, I thought it was an actual anecdote for a few seconds. LOL.
Hopefully you have 200K subscribers by the end of 2020.Also,mam have a safe flight always.
Can you tell us which airline you are flying for now? Would you consider flying a long haul cargo plane in order to keep flying? Beautiful, interesting videos, love it!
What a great communicator this lady is ✈️👍
Really good questions , really good answers great video
Hmm 🤔 breath of fresh air. There was one question I was really expecting to hear, but I'm also glad it was never asked.
You are clearly a pro. Thank you for the video.
Good video, great channel i just suscribed a few days ago, congrats, all the questions where answered in a very inteligent but personal way.
Question: what airplane for personal use would you chose, i personally the PC-12
Hi from Chihuahua México
Good information really like it always fly safe were ever you go to
Beatiful pilot...Congratulations on your success....Blessings
Did anyone notice the barely suppressed rage in DutchPilotGirl's voice when she mentioned Ryanair?
I'm currently training in AZ & I see we trained at the same place which I find so cool!
Great advices. Thanks
8:48 You rejected the verb like you would do in dutch! So cute!
That was interesting. Thanks for sharing.
WSMFP! THR WEEKEND IS ALSO GOOD
You go girl! great channel.
Hallo, uit Californië. Ik geniet erg van je UA-cam-video's......:)
I'm in the ground school phase of my training in the UK at the moment, it's good to hear that I'm getting the hardest part over with!😂
Good luck with the rest of your training!
Very interesting. Thank you.
i love ur videos about aviation
From the «average Joes» perspective and a (PA-28 pilot) I find air crash Investigation interesting because I like to understand what make those incidents happen. As you tell in your video you would like to fly any aircraft that make you learn something new. My question, are there nothing in those series that would be interesting to know for a professional pilot?
Have a awesome day
Terry
Hi Terry, Commercial Pilots receive training at least every 6 months and during those trainings a lot of stuff is discussed as well as previous accidents and incidents. The simulator training teaches us how to deal with such events. I am sure you can learn a thing or two from the Air Crash Investigation series.
@@DutchPilotGirl Thanks a lot for your rapid response!
At a Saturday evening! Awesome!
I see your point; I just did not think about your every 6 months training.
It seems obvious that your instructors who make the different training scenarios
follow what happens out there, and design the training according to that. So, I guess
you will get your skills upgraded without knowing.
Again thank you for answering!
Regards from Norway
Terry
Just for anybody wondering she works for Transavia Holland
Thanks for replying!!!!
I seem to remember several videos back that indicated you were piloting a 777 not a 737. Have you moved up to fly the Triple 7?
Stay healthy & safe travels !
I hope to get on your plane sometime this summer! Female pilots are fun to fly with for so many reasons!😇💖🏍🏍🏍🛫🛫🛫🛫🛫🛫
It's amazing 💗 proud of you 👏💖
Thank you, Very informative and entertaining. And Oh Those eyes! I love west world! :)
Thanks!
Thank you for your support of the channel! Really appreciate it! 💎
Wow this session was really useful to know many things about you. By the way which airport seemed to be the most difficult for landing? It is said that that of Hong Kong is one of such because of its particular location surrounded by the sea and the mountains.

Thank you so much Michelle, I just checked your great video about dangerous airports.
