I watch a lot of cockpit Videos, but this one is special: You did an extraordinary job in editing it. The slow, relaxed attitude with less voice overs and more text inserts even gives us time to enjoy the landscape. I obviously had a wrong ideas about the Andes in the Quito region, it is very much a high plateau. 10 Years ago my Quito connection was blown up: Radio HCJB had a shortwave service for Germany, but after 80 years the station closed and the antenna had to be disassembled to make place for the new Quito Airport. Oh - why is it difficult to loose speed, because of the low air pressure?
@@DutchPilotGirl @DutchPilotGirl Michelle, what a shame you came too late for the Space Shuttle program. With its tiny wings it was often descibed as a "Flying Brick". The glide slope was not 3 but 20 degrees. The decent rate was 750 f/m. So, may be NASA had credit you a few simulator hours for this Quito landing.

You and Your Video’s, are truly state of the art and amazing to watch !!!!! What you are doing with your flying abilities is fantastic !!!!! Don’t Stop !!!!
Welcome back.I missed your videos. The pandemic has caused chaos here as well. I am a long haul truck driver in the USA. Wanted to fly since I was a kid,but never had the means. Now I'm just to old to change. Thank you for sharing the beautiful sites. Be safe
Im a driver in EU and if you like the real thing you can go do what DPG says. Or pick up saving buy a heavy pc with some good stuff and Microsoft Flight Sim and you can enjoy photographt 4K sim and have the feeling you are flying. It's not the real thing but still...
Yep, it’s an interesting approach, Flap 15 on the 777 is a good intermediate setting to use to keep the ground speed sensible as you transition around the corner to intercept the LOC. The gotchas here are the density altitude affect SE performance on the GA and departure, which is why RWY 18 is often used even with a tailwind when you depart with a full load of flowers (It’s why freighters go to Quito). Another issue is the weather, the winds through the mountain passes are treacherous and with them veering and backing constantly you run the risk of over speeding your flaps if you aren’t configured appropriately. Lastly, companies often plan T/O performance predicated with “Packs OFF”, so in the 777’s case you need to be careful to avoid “Cabin ALT” as an APU to Packs T/O is often more limited or prohibited due to performance issues. Quito on a nice day is relatively straight forward, on a scratchy weather day it’s a serious challenge, it is however much nicer than the old airport on the hill.
So good to see you again. Glad you are doing well. Thanks for sharing your life and times with us that watch your electrifying channel. Outstanding job young lady and thanks for again my friend.

I really like the way you set this up without the noise and hard to understand squawking this way we still get all the info but in a very relaxed way, 100%
Wow. That looked a rather daunting and knot an easy place too,to fly a big and land a big airplane. But you made it look so easy and may i say so beautiful and very relaxing too watch. Thank you so much your a very brilliant pilot 😀👌🇬🇧
This video gets "Two snaps & a Rewind!" Your automation and annotations on this video are outstanding! The approach & the landing was so smooth, I couldn't tell when the wheels touched down. Bravo Zulu!
Excellent! Thanks for taking the time to make and post this video. Also, background music selection was not only perfect for the video, it was pleasant listening.😎
Beautiful scenery but that was an incredible approach. The terrain really makes it intense. The passengers never knew about the challenge. Perfect flight for the pilot and first officer.
Fascinating. I was born in Quito, Ecuador. Yes, landing at the old Quito airport was challenging. Airplanes had to break very fast due to the short runway. Thank you!
Enjoyed that very much. You say it is a difficult landing, yet that seemed like a text book case. Excellent job. Just such a different perspective. Fantastic
Love the commentary in this video, a little insight for the intriguing mind. What you do is amazing! And thank you for letting us mostly passengers on this side of flying 🙏🏻
I really liked this video format. Cockpit view with annotations of ATC, pilot, and misc. info during the let down and approach. So much has changed, and is still the same since I flew over forty years ago. Looking at the terrain I can understand better how my first diving instructor hit the mountains there in 1966 and the entire crew was lost.
Wonderful to watch. Despite the challenges due to altitiude this was a really graceful and controlled approach. There is no substitute for solid training and good preparation. Thanks a lot !
You're all good you're beautiful and you're a pilot Holly intelligent all's good thank you for making the video I'm a pilot myself trying to inspire my daughter to become one as well

Love the moving map chart with the outside view so we can really visualize what's going on. Awesome video. Now you have to fly it for us in MS Flight Simulator ;-)
Very nice video. Entertaining and educational. I hope the career as a pilot suits you and stands until your 65 or the limit of ATP should it change. Some pilots also do the CFI thing do you?
DPG, this was an awesome video, so professionally done! I especially like the graphics with all the information. I would have liked to hear some interaction between the pilots and ATC and pilot to pilot. Reading it on screen is not the same. Great video nonetheless!!
Great to hear you're surviving this difficult time for the airline industry, DPG - as a regular viewer, I was starting to wonder. Great video - either your camera is mounted on springs, or that was a very soft landing. As for the next approach, oh if only Kai Tak ;) Do you ever fly to Singapore ? That'd bring back some nice memories for me. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Thomas, really appreciate your kind words! Yes, because of the lower air density the a higher speed is required to maintain the same lift.
