He quoted dialogues from both characters (Rocky & Mikey). The film's dialogue always stood out for me.. Sly captured VOICE of folks in that area PERFECTLY.
Just once I'd like to hear Sly get drunk - BRAG for three hours - can you IMAGINE the outright BRAGGING this guy could DO?! "Yeah, then I wrote a 1976 hit that changed the course/stream of the country - took a week or two off - wrote and shot FIRST BLOOD." (he literally didn't know that it COULDN'T be done)
Like Stallone but I hear he charged fans 400 for an autograph at comic con. How grounded is he when he think fans have that kind of money for an autograph?
Gene Anthony - I heard similar things about Dolph Lungren and at first I was pretty disgusted but it turns out people were getting stuff like boxing gloves signed - then selling them for huge figures on eBay. They have a large cash value. Just depends how you look at it.
I guess but it screws over fans who want this stuff and aren't trying to sell it and it's not like it's costing the star anything. Just feels very out of touch to charge these ridiculous amounts to people, especially for a guy like Stallone who is loaded already and in his 70s. I could understand though if the money was going to charity or something though.
I hear whenever Sly visits Philadelphia no-one addresses him by any other name than "Rock" or "Rocky". You know you done something right with your life when you have created a character out of your own mind that is so iconic, so realistic, that it resonates with everyone and they relate it to their lives. I wouldn't be the man I am today without Sylvester Stallone & Rocky Balboa.
Yes I totally agree with you, I was just a little kid when it came out but it really left an impression on me. It actually helped me try out and make my High School football team. Thanks Sly for all the great memories you gave us throughout the years 🙏🤗
@dirk diggler As implying what. Character true. But the story still inspires millions of people and gives people sense of hope. Which is nice for people who are suffering. No matter what it sends a good message to keep trying and never give up.
It's good to know that even superstars like Sylvester Stallone goes back down memory lane every now and then...What a great humble human being he is!! Those Rocky movies definitely played a role in my life growing up in the 70's and early 80's.

Pretty much the same for me Guy but I actually watched it with my mam when I was about 13, we had 1,2 and 3 and watched one each night for 3 nights in a row. Never forget the atmosphere of these films.
I can`t even describe how much I love this movie! Even today, after seeing it for so many times I can`t put it off when it is on tv and finish watching it to the last scene. There is something magical about this movie that keeps you watching. It has a soul that just touches you, I think that is why I love it so much. Thank you Sylvester! Kindest regards from The Netherlands.
Victor Bastos. To mister Sly it was real. It's his own film. He gave his all for that movies. It made him the man he is today. I love Sly for what he had done to the movie scene with this series of movies. My favorite actor of all time. Wish I could meet him in real life. He is my greatest hero. Kind regards from South Africa.

Sly has been my hero since i was about 10 years old when Rocky IV came out...between Rocky and Rambo and every other movie he's done, i idolized him. Finally got the chance to see him in real life and get his autograph. He was in the Detroit area for the premier and red carpet event for Rocky Balboa and something to do with saving a boxing gym downtown. He's coming up the carpet signing autographs here and there, but it was crazy. I was yelling his name and was a couple feet from him and he couldn't even hear me to turn around. So i roll up my Rocky Balboa poster and i get just close enough to start hitting him with the poster on his shoulder/arm...he finally turned, took the poster, took my marker and signed it for me...i was one of the last autographs before he got taken back stage...one of my greatest life moments.

En realidad entiendo que este no era el gimnasio en el interior, pero sólo la fachada exterior. Filmaron en otro lugar donde Mick entrenó a Rocky, pero sin duda este lugar siempre será recordado como el gimnasio Mickey Goldmill
Great man, I'll never forget during Rocky Balboa he was filming a scene outside city hall. It was suppose show him walking into the building right before he went in to get his boxing license. Everything went wrong that day from the weather to the extras. He cut it totally out. It didn't even make deleted scenes. The only thing that does to show you any proof this happened is right before he goes up to the broad asking for a boxing license you see a outside shot of Philadelphia's City Hall with a statue of William Penn on the roof. Anyway this one extra kept looking directly into the camera. Everyone was told just walk natural as if your going about your everyday. But he kept doing and Stallone was getting aggravated, so heard him say "F it, just keep it rolling." After he shot what he wanted I screamed out to him and said Yo, Mr Stallone How ya doing? He says Not too good kid and shook my hand and nobody else. The whole time for the City I wasn't suppose to have access near them So I always thought it was cool he did that. The security kept trying push me away too because even though I worked for the City at the time I didn't have permission to be there lol.
And as Sly had previously noted, whenever people in Philly see him on the street, they never call him Sly, it's always "Hey Rock!" "Yo, Rocky!"
Could someone tell me what that "gym" has been used as and what is currently used as?🙂
I love how Sly can just slip back into Rocky so effortlessly. That was awesome.
It's like slipping on a pair of gloves,or a hat
He quoted dialogues from both characters (Rocky & Mikey). The film's dialogue always stood out for me.. Sly captured VOICE of folks in that area PERFECTLY.

You're the best. Before, Now and Forever!
Sly thank you for giving us rocky and Rambo and all the others 😁
