I just purchased the device a day back. When i record in 1080 or 4k @24fps, observed screen flickering couple of times in low light. Is it happening in all devices or mine only.
Secondly if I play a clip there is no sound. How do I adjust volume

when I put my action 2 on my fpv drone and record in 4k 16:9 at 30fps and shutter set on 1/60 I get a lot of motion blur / studering

Hey good review. But I dont understand why you recommend setting the video compression to h264, HEVC is as good as h264. You dont lose quality in that codec, HEVC is the successor to h264.

When you are using the screen module do both screens have to be on at the same time? Or can you turn off the back screen if, say you are vlogging?
Both screens have to be doing the same function unfortunately!
You can! Technically the back screen will stay on, but it will go black.

h.265 is more efficient than h.265 that means it is at the same visual quality at a smaller file size and that is why it was invented. Bigger file size does not mean better in that case. The only point of ever using h.264 is for compatibility plug and playing raw footage on an old tv. Now AV1 codec is significantly more efficient than h.265 and that is what netflix and some youtube videos use now, and one day (I already do for video encodes) we will all use that and h.266.
I was so excited when i bought this on release day. But stopped using it for a time due to bad noise when filming indoors/home. Is there a good settings i can use? I export my vlogs at 1080/60 and have been recording with that setting as well and using horizon steady. But when watching review views such as yours, i barely see any noise at dark scenes. Can i get assistance with my settings please? Thanks in advance!
If you are seeing noise then lower your IOS but action cameras or small sensors need a lot of light too look good. Not really designed for indoor lighting really unless you have ‘studio lighting’ setup

In the settings
The Camera itself and quality is really good……BUT
It FELL OFF from the magnetic Lanyard from just moderate activity of riding a bicycle.
And with such incredible luck… it FELL exactly when I was crossing a small wooden bridge and right into the river water 😭😭😭
So, now I still have the front camera module and all the other accessories. So should I sell those parts or maybe wait for a sale and get another…. Unfortunately, they don’t just sell the camera unit itself. Also, I am not sure if I have the confident in it anymore.
It branded as an action camera and the magnetic lanyard function was one of the driving feature which attracted me for the purchase.
If it cannot handle the role of an action camera, they should put a big disclaimer saying the magnetic lanyard CAN ONLY BE USE for slowly walking and have a high chance of falling off with activities!! So I am pretty about that and how DJI advertise it as an action camera and with footage of its use with the lanyard being able to handle rigorous activities.
Anyway, perhaps I should just sell the Dual Screen module and get a GoPro instead.
As I said early on, the camera quality is very good but don’t rely on it as an action camera. DJI should take out that lanyard magnetic option to help others avoid the loss that I experienced with just moderate activities.

At a frame rate of 30, a shutter speed of 1/60 will completely neutralize the stabilization, and all that you'll have is artifact (distortion). Do NOT follow the 2x rule!!

6:28 Haha. RockSteady does not work reliably with shutter speeds lower than ~1/300s, so you can throw the 180 degrees shutter angle rule out of the window. Same reason you shouldn't be using any ND filters with it.
This tiny thing has a bigger sensor than the Gopro? That's a head scratcher.

I got mine yesterday, ordered on Amazon . The product was sadly activated already, contacted customer care , at first they told me they’ll give me 60$ partial refund, I asked for more, they refunded all my money and said “ you don’t have to return the product, you can use it as it is or dispose or donate it “ 😂. So it’s technically free 😂

Well TBH, lowering your shutter speed will introduce motion blur, which is really bad for the any sort of stabilization, including rocksteady. I don't understand why everyone recommends that 180 shutter angle on an action cam. It's bullshit, don't use it, don't believe the idiotism. If the camera is on stable surface, than it's okay to do it so.
DJI Action 2 will be over heated and shut down after 4 minutes, when record 4K 120fp, take a while for camera to back to work, gopro 10 can take 4k 240fp without a problem.
the worst camera, a failure, it does not serve neither for action, nor for blo, it is very delicate,
Its perfect for FPV flying.
