Just noticed I misspoke, for the Magical Ticket glitch it's D-Pad one frame AFTER pressing item select. And I'd definitely recommend trying these tricks yourself! They're pretty easy to do, a ton of fun to mess around with, and the Albus -> Shanoa glitch lets you keep Albus' inventory after you save (Moonwalkers and two Master Rings).
I imagine the ending is just a counter that gets incremented by 1 or 2, depending on whether or not you saved the villagers. By getting the bad ending twice, you increment the counter by 2, therefore getting the good ending. That's just a thought, though.
@@rosheafanI assume it's like how in SotN, the default state of the throne room is Richter being saved, the check the game does being bypassable through glitches. In the case of OoE, the default story path is probably you being on the good ending path, the game checks to see if you're gonna get the bad ending right before fighting Albus, but because of how glitched everything was leading up to the fight, that check ends up getting bypassed in some way or another
That shocked me too, my mind got blown, I can't believe how messy this game is (however you need to beat the game first before you can abuse the stuff of the speedrun).
So, uh, cat ended up being speedrun optimal after all? In the weirdest and most hilarious way possible but still. This is absurd though, love it so much.

This is very cool, although I hope it gets a separate category. Glitches in-game are one thing, but I always think of tricks involving starting other modes as a little different since it's not just "start a new game and run with that file"... like anyone can get a lightning fast speedrun if they load an existing save file, but that's obviously "cheating", so similar confused-load shenanigans can get a little weird.
Igavania continues to break in hilarious ways. Circle (technically no Iga but shut up) lets you become a nuclear meltdown, Harmony lets literally anybody, even a dumbass like me, beat the game in 10 minutes with Maxim, Aria... has something im sure, Dawn has Succubus glitch, Portrait has something i havent heard of yet, and Ecclesia becomes Portrait. God i love (most of) theae games.
ahh order of ecclesia my beloved the only game i absolutely DESTROYED by having 2 death rings equiped at all time, be max level and have max level scythe, basicaly 3 shotting dracula, and doing all of that without saving once (i thought if i finished that way i'd get a special ending ! ...nope !) very good video :) a bit slow on dracula tho
I wish the collection could have had sotn with the bonus levels added in. Also, if they had a budget and Konami cared enough, it would've cool to have a new mode like the MegaMan x legacy collectionto where they put all the castles together so we can go through it all and fight all the enemies and bosses from each game with all the characters
It's not like the people who do these things haven't already experienced the beautiful game normally yet. In fact, you need to beat the game in order to unlock Boss Rush in the first place.
I love Shanoa, but I always felt like the first half of the game was a bit slow and I'd kinda prefer to start at the castle like most other Castlevania games.
I started a hard lvl 1 run and did this glitch, but now the save says max level 50 on normal, does still count as lvl 1 run if i complete the game with the glitch?
Why is the albus swap ideal for the run? Is it just to save time killing Blackmore and zipping to Eligor’s back on the way to Death? I wonder what the amount of time saved is, and how much a bad string of luck getting the arma Felix glyph could eat into that.
Pretty sure it puts you at lv1 but with the exp accumulated from lv50. For example in normal mode, it is capped at lv99 (a bit less than 3M exp) if you collect even more exp, then unlock max lv255 on other file then return to that one, your level will be recalculated with the exp you have now
Maybe the succubus transform might be faster to farm if it has the same effects. I never thought this release would have such a massive effect on the Castlevania players, no doubt this games age like fine wine, it's a shame they didn't get much attention when launched and even the supposed "fans" were pieced off because IGA made them
It's probably because getting footage of a DS / 3DS game is quite annoying - it required special capture cards and modifications that often meant "buy from some random website selling modified DSes". Is it possible to do with Dominus?
that glitch at the end really makes you think about how cool an albus/shanoa mode would’ve been
I am surprised if I am right nobody has mod this in POR.
A What-If Mode for if Albus found out about Dominus before Shanoa lost her memories would’ve been cool.
i mean modding is at least in some minor way, already a thing for these games on the original ROMs, it's not out of the question i guess
I'm making a hack for that as we speak, even in Order of Ecclesia!
ALBUS! SHANOA! ALBUS! SHANOA!
That last glitch is literally Portrait of Ruin but with extra steps...

Shanoa has the best double jump animation in any video game, ever.

I cannot believe how much bullshit was hiding behind Boss Rush this entire time. Absolutely incredible.
It’s really neat. And you can sorta see why; the game warping you to each location instead of making its own rooms for boss rush is unusual.

ATK 28
DEF 8
STR 22
CON 16
INT 19
MND 13
LCK 9

when I lv up normal without any transformation it only increase the CON and INT
CON 16 ->17
INT 19 -> 20

when I lv up with arma chiroptera (bat transformation) every state is different (you need to be transform of course)

ATK 28->38
DEF 8->17
STR 22->30
CON 17->35
INT 20->25
MND 13->23
LCK 9->10
_____________
With the arma Felix (cat transformation)
ATK 28->42
DEF 8->15
STR 22->35
CON 17->30
INT 20->27
MND 13-23
LCK 9->10
_____________
And when you lv up with Arma Machine (the robot... I hated doing)
ATK 28->38
DEF 8->15
STR 22->30
CON 17->30
INT 20->25
MND 13->16
LCK 9->10
Also this reset after leaving the save file or lv up again, so if you lv as the cat and then suspend or lv up as shanoa you stats will reset to what should have been
And if you lv as a cat and then lv as a cat again it doesn't increase again but you will keep the stats
I don't know if there is anything useful on this But since I did it I thought of sharing it
