I was gonna mention that this is probably only a WR for the Dominus Collection, which does of course not have that many runs so far, but I looked it up and no, this is a WR across all any% categories. lol Jupiter is a beast.
There's no stronger weapon available at that point except the Long Spear, which would require a Spear Guard farm. But Kaiser Knuckle attacks faster, hits twice and it's right there, so even a Long Spear wouldn't be worthwhile.
I'm not even 2 minutes into the video and I paused at least 14 times to try and understand what's going on but failed miserably, so I just gave up and accepted it all as the new reality. Good job!

Yeah, but the Dominus Collection isn't emulation, as an emulator can't show both secondary screens at once. DC is the DSvanias fully ported and running natively on modern hardware, which lets load times go faster (not that DS games had long load times to begin with). Plus on PC, you can use pretty much any controller you want, and the mouse can be used for touch controls (or on Switch, the Switch's rarely-used touch screen can be used).
This went by so fast! You got skills! This is my favorite Castlevania, and in my top 5 favorite games of all time. Best way to Sum this video up is: 11+ minutes of "CharJohn! CharJohn! CharJohn! CharJohn! CharJohn! CharJohn!" followed by "ExWell! ExWell! ExWell! ExWell! ExWell! ExWell!" XD

It's the cursor for the touch screen. If you're playing Steam Deck you can use the touch screen, but otherwise you have to move that cursor around the screen like a mouse.
Idea for a Speedrun category to make Speedruners cry: techless. They basically have to play the way it was intented, without using any exploits to go faster, skip stuff, etc.
When quests give the rewards in the dialogue, the quest isn't actually considered as completed until you scroll to the next dialogue. So you can cancel out of the menu with Start, keep the reward, but not complete the quest, and then keep doing it. Yes, it works on the DS version as well.
hey why do you switch characters before doing the swap double jumps (like to the kaiser knuckle)? is it just a timing thing? been learning no oob and they've been giving me trouble.
Somebody had a great reminder for the names: They say it constantly like Pokemon. The girl is Jonathan and the boy is Charlotte. Can´t forget it now. Edit: It was @luizguilhermelunardi8270 who said that.
@@metalmonster9536 I did not swap characters that constantly when I did my casual playthrough of the game. I would've gotten too annoyed and quit if that was how you had to play casually.

Speaking Kaiser Knuckle, how exactly does the strat to get it work. Touchscreen shenanigans I think but I'm not sure.
@@mimi_mačak looks like some sort of jump reset swap, it seems you have to swap characters mid jump to reset the jump mid air

Two things to help you out:
Charcter swapping is a dash cancel
Suspending in the doorway between rooms causes zips.

I’m glad one of the most efficient ways to move is to swap characters repeatedly. We were on to something back in the day.

Yeah beating Astarte is what unlocks the blessed Ring quest, which will allow us to get the money for Holy Claymore

That constant character swapping is so annoying just to listen to. I can't imagine having to also be pressing the buttons constantly.
That actually is one of the fun part of PoR, even in normal runs. But tbh I prefer the Japanese voice for that
