Can't believe so many are dealing with this issue! I'm blessed to have found a way to help others take care of this issue and save money at the same time! I figured this mod out about 3 months ago and just want to thank everyone who has taken the time to view, like, comment, subscribe, visit our website and the ones who have purchased the mod! Now for the actual description!
If you are you dealing with your Ford MyKey being Active and only have the MyKey that doesn't allow you to clear or reset the keys then this will help you do so!!!
Recently I had the same issue! After being told by the "stealership" that it would cost me over $500 to purchase a 2nd key, labor cost and to reprogram my vehicle...I decided I was going to figure out a way to DIY fix this myself at a much cheaper cost...
I started out by doing a Google search and found Forscan and Focccus are options to reset and clear the Ford MyKeys but it's a complicated process of reading and writing to your BCM (Body Control Module). Dangerous as well if you make a mistake or corrupt the data file to your BCM! It requires a Bluetooth capable laptop or a USB wired OBD2 Scantool which most people don't already have just lying around.
I attempted these methods but after purchasing a HH OBD2 Bluetooth Scantool that wouldn't work with Forscan, Focccus or any other apps from the Google Play Store! I decided to try and make some slight modifications to the HH OBD2 Scantool to make it work with the apps to find a better way of bypassing the Ford MyKey system! After several weeks of trial and error runs with my modifications I was finally able to bypass the system and the found out how to gain the Admin key access needed to turn the MyKey back to an Admin Key which is done in the factory menu...
I had finally found a new and way easier method to reset and clear the MyKeys without the Admin Key! Using only my Android phone, an app and the modified HH OBD2 Advanced! Link is below!
This method is very easy and quick! It can be done within 5 to 10 minutes!
I outline the steps on how I did this in the video! I will put a written step-by-step in the description below as well!
Instructions to clear and reset Ford's MyKeys:
1. Plug in Modified HH OBD2 Advanced Scantool to your cars OBD2 port and pair with your Bluetooth phone.
2. Start vehicle and run Fordsys free or pro app!
3. Pair modified device with the app and choose PCM then KOER option. Once Scantool has completed this operation your MyKey system will be bypassed and you should have full radio volume and no limits active working even though the MyKey is still a MyKey for the moment!
4. Remove key from car or block signal from fob to where vehicle tells you the key is not detected!
5. Turn car off and back on without engine running and go to the MyKey menu. At this point you should have Admin properties and be able to go to setting option for clear MyKeys. Select this option and then hold ok button on steering wheel for 10 secs. Once this finishes your MyKey will now be reset to an admin key and you're finished!
6. Dance in joy that your MyKey has now been reset and cleared back to an Admin Key!
This will help you beat the "stealerships" and put some of your hard earned money back in your pocket! If you need help I will answer any questions I can in the comments as time permits!

Exactly what I did
I accidentally set the “My Keys” function without even knowing what it did. I was bored in the truck waiting on daughter in the Er and started playing with buttons. I regret that. Called Ford and told them they need to rename this as Teen settings instead. No one seems to know how to fix this so I’m thankful I found this site. Just ordered the reader and downloaded the app so I’m praying it works. Hoping it comes in fast since we leave for New York end of next week.
The exact same thing happened to me, I activated it out of curiosity and now it won't come off. :( called Ford and they said it would be like $300 to fix it !!!!! Nope!

I wish I would have seen this 3 years ago. I didn't reset anything. I Cranked the car up and got out. Walked my key down the parking lot to my other car. Got back in the car, the message came up. Reached over, opened and closed the passenger door. Cut the car off, took my foot off the brake and hit the push button. It looked for the key and just like you said, it let me reset the options. Great video and I'm thankful.

After searching forever, reading posts, and watching Videos, I could remove the MyKey messages and volume issue but not the actual speed limitation. And then I came across your method of doing things using the ForScan. It worked like a magic. Thank you so much. In the case of my car, I used it on. It was a 2016 Lincoln Mkc.

I have a 2017 Ford fusion with the push button start, and only one key fob. My dumb, curious-self activated my-key four years ago when I bought the car.
I bought this OBD2 device last year, and never had any luck with it. I could never get to the "click" part before the connection was lost. So It sat in my desk drawer for a year. BUT!!!
I randomly tried it again today for laughs, and it worked!!! After 4 years, I am now able to go over 80mph! (Not going to lie, I got it up to 105 for a few seconds!) It's nice to be able to hear the radio with the windows open too!!! This is the most excited if been in a while!

Yes I have a question and the instructions to the my key convert back into admin key on instruction number two you said to put the key in the block and turn it on to proceed to rule number three when selection number two where that's what we're doing is relocating or resetting the key because I have no key so I cannot follow with instruction number two if I have no key or is there another option for that instruction thank you

This is awesome information. I have been looking for months on how to get around this. Two things? First can I get the link for the bluetooth piece from Amazon or wherever? Second I have a 2011 Explorer and it still takes a key to start and I only have one key which is restricted. If you find out anything on fixing that please pass along. Any ideas as to what to do about the same problem with a F150 that has a my key that has to be inserted into the ignition traditionally? Obviously you cannot walk away with the key that’s keeping the truck running

I just left the dealership and they stated the MyKey can't be reset without the other key. I ordered the product in your description however, the App is stating it's on old Android version and won't let me download. Is there a newer Android App I can use?

Hey there Rob thanks for the vid. 2 questions first: I only have one key when I purchased the vehicle (2013 focus see) which is NOT a fob just a regular valet key will it work second: this particular model has had radio problems and now my radio went even turn on and clock usually won't even show so Bluetooth is or or the question I'm pretty sure in your bitter you mentioned the adapter so that I won't have to use Bluetooth will I be able to get this mykey feature off
I have not been able to attempt this on a vehicle that has an actual key. I imagine that once you use the device to bypass the system you should still be able to block the fob part of the key and then access the menu to erase the mykey but this will be up to you to trial and error so to speak since I don't have a vehicle to do so on. I believe your 2nd question has to do with the bluetooth. You do not need to use your cars bluetooth or radio. Just the bluetooth on your phone to pair with the bluetooth Scantool. This is what will allow you to bypass the mykey and then gain access to the administrative menu that will allow it to be permanently cleared from the car to return your only key to an admin key...

@@RalphAlmeida-nw6ce Most code scanner will get you into key on engine running self test. His was a simple Bluetooth dongle he used to pair his phone with to access the pcm self test. Then simply follow the video once it initiates the self test as shown.

Hello! I really appreciate this video as I have been stuck in this scenario for a little while and it's incredibly frustrating. I purchased a LMS device and I can't seem to get it to work after trying for quite some time. Does it have to be one of the devices you have listed in the description? I HAVE A 2014 LINCOLN MKZ MYSELF AND I HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM I WAS MESSING WITH THE SETTINGS AND GOT LOCKED OUT ONE DAY AND IVE HAD TO LIVE WIT THE LIMITS. NOW IM GOING TO ORDER THIS HH OBD SCANNER AND GET THE APP AND SEE IF THIS TURNS MY KEY INTO AN ADMIN KEY.

@@wbuffalo742 cool.. another question, can this reset or clear the low tire pressure icon in my dashboard? I tried the relearn tool from amazon and ebay but no luck clearing the icon on my dashboard.
To be honest...I'm not sure but I can tell you that it maintains full functionality after the modification so if you find information that says it will before it's modified then it still will afterward as well! I will say this, though, and its worth mentioning because it's often overlooked because its a out of sight, out of mind kinda thing but be sure to check your spare tire's air pressure if the lights still on after you've checked all the other tires on the vehicle because the spare tire, on vehicles with tire pressure monitors, has a monitor as well and will cause the light to come on if it's low. Another thing, if the spare has been checked, be sure you look to see what the monitoring system calls for on the spare. If its a full size spare it will likely be the same pressure but if its a donut tire then it will be a much higher pressure. If there's anything else we can help with let us know and thanks for asking!

I have 2012 focus, I have two keys, the admin key was wore out and I needed to switch the keys, I watched one of the vids on how to fix limiters, and it worked, then I did the cleared all my key so I could switch admin key, I'm the only one driving it so I really don't need any limiters. Now that I cleared the keys, both key's have limiters for volume/speed, now when I go to settings it doesn't show mykey at all🤷🏼♀️ when I go to info it shows mykey (2) one admin. How do I fix that? And get mykey back! I recently added remote start so I don't won't to affect it! TIA

Will this work with ford car that doesn't has remote start and uses the old key starting system?
Need help the app says pcm protocol not detected any solution or idea on this.? I bought the same device for my Ford F-150 no remote start
What if im doing all the steps but when i get to the remote start mode it does not do anything else from your video? Im completely stuck and been like 3 weeks now

How did you get it to connect to the app your using?. I bought the exact same obd2 and exact same app but tells me it cannot connect to the bluedriver.

I have a 2016 mustang. I can get to the part where it says restart now or key is needed, and when I key on the MyKey active still shows up and I can’t change settings.
Hi, thanks for the video I just ordered my obd reader from your link. On the steps on your description(step 5), it says to turn car back on without engine running however I don’t have a push to start option (Ford Fusion 2013)so to start it I will have to insert key on this step. Is this gonna ruin the whole process??

Just did this today on my 2018 Mustang GT and it worked! Ine thing to note: I tried using the app like shown in the video and could not get it to work at all. I downloaded the ForScan tool onto my laptop, and connected my laptop to the bluetooth OBD scanner. The ForScan has the same PCM test on it. I ran the PCM test, and while the test was running, had my brother walk away from the car holding my key. Once the test was over, I turned the car off, and turned it back on without the engine. Following the same process in the video i was able to reset my only key as an admin key.

This worked like a charm. I was by myself so while it was testing I rolled down my window threw my key out the window about 8 feet and it was about to work. May make a video on the forscan way.
When you say key on.are you doing this with the app? Or a key. Can this be done witb one key?

Worked only difference was on my friends 2013 Lincoln it never went to remote start after the we removed the fob but I powered down still didn’t say power on in 30 seconds but the rest was perfect cleared both my keys that he had

I'm gassed to find this video! The mykey settings were all screwed up on my wife's Ford Fusion by her ex. Of course, he has the admin key. I'll definitely check this out and I'll let you know what happens!
