Thanks for making this vid… I’ve been going back and forth with whether i want to do medical coding or IT… I was going to go with medical coding but really I know IT would be more of my vibe. But for some reason when searching for what steps to take in IT to become a cybersecurity specialist or any other IT role there is just too many opinions and I get discouraged … but I will for sure check out that website you mentioned. Thank you!!
Making the switch from nursing to software tester. Glad you were so transparent in this video . Really trying to pivot into tech . Please do a review of careerist after you are done .
As a sr. software qa tester with 4 years of experience. The tech field is brutal, constant lay offs and it's difficult to land a job. Just recently laid off due to reduce of workforce because of the economy. Pivoting to Medical Coding as it seems more of a reliable job.
Medical coding is exhausting. It comes with burn out, plateau, and underpaid. Depending on demographics. I understand how she feels !!! I’m ready to exit from medical coding. I’m looking for senior Business Intelligence Developer - Clinical Content Management
Hi! I just watched this video and you literally are living what I thought I'd feel like later on after pursuing medical billing and coding. The fact that you are honest about the pay hits home for me. I literally have been searching for a tech field that I could get in without consuming a lot of time to learn, something where I could have the wfh option and ultimately something that had more earning potential. Thank you for this. This was so on time.
You are so welcome ❤️. I'm sharing my career pivot with you all. Check back here for an update soon! I'm still very happy with my decision to pivot to Tech. Manual Testing is so simple and that's what I need in my life!
Thank you for sharing your journey! I’ve been coding for 10 years (outpatient 8 years, inpatient 2 years) and I agree that I am burned out. I work 2 jobs and it’s tiresome…time for me to transition into something else as well! I will definitely continue to follow your journey! ❤
I'm happy for you. 🙂 I tell people all the time to do what makes you happy. It's your life. And as a medical coder myself, I understand it's not for everybody and that's ok. BTW, medical coders can make 6 figures in the education sector. With that said, enjoy your new profession. I pray that all your dreams come true. God bless you 🙏🏿🙂
I am certified Coding specialist I am so done with inpatient coding. I been coding for 2 yrs I want to pivot!!! 2 yrs is the minimum 100 k for my line of work ❤
I have been coding for 8 years and I really use to enjoy it as well but things have move to rush rush and productivity that I was looking at QA testing myself . I love the channel My Tech is Black this is conformation for me thank you and I know you will be great as a QA tester❤
Tech is TheNew Black UA-cam channel played a major role in me pivoting to Tech. It's an excellent and insightful channel that showcase all of the possibilities for someone looking to have a high paying job. You've got a solid foundation in medical coding, so your attention to detail and understanding of systems will serve you well in QA testing. You're on the right track-may you be successful in your pivot to Tech and secure a salary of your dreams!
I just received a recommendation for this video due to my recent interest in Manual QA & QA Automation. I am subscribing because I definitely want to follow your journey. I am doing my research, but I feel 90% confident that I will be signing up and I was looking at Careerist, so I will be sure to use your link. It also amazes me that all of your reasons for pivoting match mine to a T. I wish you all the best in your journey and I'll be tuning in.
I'm glad your doing your research. I did the exact same thing before committing. I finish the course Q1 of 2024 an currently 70% completed. The internship will be starting soon so I plan to give the course a review before and after graduating. Wishing you the best in your exploration of Manual QA & QA Automation! Thanks for subscribing as well!!!!
I’m wrapping up my program for RHIT this year and already thinking about my transition. I wanna try tumor registry and eventually analyst. I don’t know! I love HIM so ain’t no telling where I’m going to end up!
Omg I’m so happy I found your channel! I’ve been a medical coder for 5 years now and I’m ready to move on to being a manual QA also, I’ve outgrown it. I just finished an internship for software testing in October. I’m still studying and I’ll be ready for the job market in February. I’m looking forward to your new journey 😊😊😊 I’m underpaid in my current coding position and they are making ridiculous production standards. I find myself feeling burnt out and unmotivated often, it’s time to move on for sure.
Wow, our situation is pretty much the same. You mentioned that you just finished a Manual QA internship...Was it through Careerist by chance? I'm excited to share my journey and thank you for deciding to support me in my journey. I can't wait to share more with you all.
I'm staying because I have questions about medical coding. I didn't pass my CCS-P certification and lost hope, that I can't pass it. I have struggled with case studies and E&M. Do you know if there's any study guides for these particular areas?
I'm not sure what areas your looking to feep five into. The AAPC sell study guides as well other entities not affiliated with the AAPC. I'm not sure about Ahima.
A manual tester typically tes web pages and mobile devices. There are healthcare companies looking for testers to test software. I some positions for Testers in the Healthcare field.
Please keep us posted on how the software testing is working out for you😊
I definitely will keep you all posted. Currently in class right now 🙂.

Jennifer is how I learned about Manaul QA. I was in the August internship.
thank you for this video !!!
You're so welcome!
Thank you for sharing
My pleasure
Do you feel that careerist is better than RoadtoQA? Im confused on this part.
I understand that some of us need a career change and we all want that $100k income. Software Testing is a good field. Good luck to you
Thank you!

I'm not sharing my employer. I don't choose to be a spokesperson for them.

Thanks for subbing!
I wanted to ask, are you learning specific to Healthcare IT software or overall general software?

how many money you do a month?, I want to study that career, but I wanna know about money.
