- A huge thanks for those who got in touch and added extra pieces to my knowledge, this video should be a lot closer to explaining what you can do with the mixer in iNavflight V2.0. I'm always amazed at how many kind, thoughtful and polite pilots there are out there :D

Thank you Lee another video full of nuggets of information. Inav is developing lots of very useful bits and pieces.
I have reversed the flaperons to get spoilerons for crow. Flaps are added in the mixer?? On my motor gliders I like to run camber. In Inav2 an extra mix for each aileron channel and another flap mix, adjusted to give 10% to 20% for camber? Is there a limit for the number of mixes per servo channel?? It would be nice to have crow, camber and reflex if Inav2 allows four or five mixes per servo channel. Would have to organize modes arming etc in the higher sbus channels hmmmmmmmm
No bother. Tried it doesn't work. Flaperons are through modes as well as mixer. Anyone got any ideas please??????
I used the presets in the mixer settings once I selected the flying wing. The throws on the wing was reversed so it is necessary to go into servo to get pitch and roll to move correctly. THANKS PAINLESS!!🤩
Thanks again. I think I now know how to set up the f16 with tailarons, rudder and just flaps on the wings.
Really nice, Lee. Really interesting!
It would be great if you could make a video setting up a wing or airplane. 😊
Setup is identical apart from the mixer being a different tab.. happy flying!
Many thanks for such detailed explanation of servo mixer.
See the latest iNav 2.1 series for the latest.. Best of luck!
@@Painless360 Great! Will check it out now. Thank you again ♥
Thank you for that Painless. Again, another eye opening video.
Did some research and found this for servo set up. Hope someone finds this helpful.
In the "Servos" Tab:
If they go reverse, change "Direction and rate" from +100 to -100
If they exceed maximum wanted deflection reduce min/max
If control surfaces is not perfectly centered adjust servo midpoint. (This is after setting them up as close as possible mechanically )
Note: In the Servos tab servos are counted from 0-7 while in the Motors tab they run from 1-8.
Great stuff! Thanks for all the iNav tips.
Great video tutorial Lee Thank you
Thank you very much.
Great video, thanks
How do you map a servo on S2. I only have one motor
Thank you
Great video, very helpful, thanks. I'm thinking of building something like a v22 osprey with vtol capability. I understand I could add some servos to pitch my motors from horizontal to vertical.... but I'm wondering if there is a way to make sure the craft will remain stable and level in roll and pitch while in vtol configuration? Any ideas on how I would be able to do this?
Have omnibus f4 v6 setup as a quadx. Servo tab allows you to add rules, but the output doesn’t change, leaving s2 and s4 blank. I wish to use one for pitch control of gimbal
Servo table is only read at boot so you need to reboot it to take effect. See my iNav 2.1 series where I show this in some detail..
Hi Lee, awesome video as always! I am trying to set this up on a multicopter with one servo output for gimbal pitch. After I enable it in the mixer and press save, it still does not show up in the mixer tab to tell me which output on the board to plug it in to. Any ideas? Thank you!
Does anyone know whether it´s possible to use output 5 and/or 6 for a servo while using Inav on a copter? It only lets me add a servo mixer to S7 and S8. I want S5 and S6 for a servo too. Any solution?
Hi, Lee
Is there a way to connect a pan & tilt (2 servo) in inav on a omnibus f4 v3 board ?
i have built a 450 dart quad and set up in premix 10inch all 4 motors working and have connected
the 2 servos on the 5th & 6th pins tried to follow you in the mixer but the 2 servos are not working ?
is it not possible to have servos in the quad mix ? please advise me.
thanks
Kevin.
I've not tried it on a Quad but see my iNav 2.1 build where I show how I added a pan and tilt gimbal.. Best of luck
Thanks for the update, my next build will have iNav and I'll be updating to v2. Does iNav allow the 2nd motor output to be mapped to a servo output yet? It's kind of frustrating to have one of the limited outputs dedicated to a 2nd motor that most planes don't have.
No, sadly not.
Awesome video. Thanks! I built my first wing and have a question about the mixer. Do I understand it correctly that I do not have to set up a mixer on my Taranis? If I choose "Wing" the elevons are mixed. Do not I need this or can I leave the appointment in the Taranis like this?
Please see my INav series and iNav documentation - no mixer needed on the radio.. Best of luck!
Great video … what about the speed column what does that do ? Speed control for flaps ?
It affects how quickly things happen. You can play with it to see how it works but I never touch it..
Can you explain what position or movement direction is mid, min and max.
Best bet is to see this in action in the iNav 2.1 series.. Best of luck!
Can I configure two modes? Such as a quad mode and an airplane mode that is switch selectable?
No VTOL in iNav.. Yet..
I used Inav 2.0 with spf3 flight controller motor arm. But flight modes doesn't work ( angle and horizon) please help me sir
I used your video in your channel spf3 settings and add flysky receiver, fly modes
But my quad only arm and i change to fly modes angle motor are stop running
Please help me this is my first quad building
I want to use three motors on my flying wing with differential thrust. If I understood correctly, I only need to add one more motor and configure yaw on the two that I want to use for steering? Wouldn't it mess up the timers, etc.? I am using Matek F405 Wing.
Sounds likely, I've not tried it here - let me know if it works!
In the end I had to make my own iNAV build. Unfortunately I could not test it so far, but in case anybody is interested, I can share it.
I'm using a matek 405 wing, and have set the wing preset, now I have lost the servo's and can't get them back in the mixer? this is driving me insane.
Please watch one of the recent iNav plane builds on the channel. I show all the steps including mixer step. Best of luck
hi my motor in iNAV no works my gps is unplug this motor shut works when armed without gps or no my fly matek F411-wind any idea way is no working y test the ESC without fly control and motor works
Please see my complete iNav build series as I show how to get it working perfectly every time.. Happy flying!
Awesome vid, thank you so much! : )
Just a question if i may, please?
For my VTOL project, if i need 4 motor mixers (with 4 physical motors), and 2 servo mixers for the ailerons, is that possible to configure?
And if so, do you know which FC has such support, please?
Many thanks! : )
Check out the arduplane project, lots of VTOL support in there... Happy flying!
@@Painless360 or PX4 with even more VTOL configurations
Great video. I was wondering why developers decided to set 2 motors as standard when the majority of us I think use just one... So with that said I can't use the pwm motor output for a servo in my omnibus f4 just because there are different timers?
With ardupilot I can do what I want and Inav doesn't allow that?
What's your opinion on this topic?
It’s a legacy thing going back into the dim and distant past.. I wasn’t one of the developers so don’t know the rationale.. happy flying!
@@Painless360 Well, what I am going to write may seem against INAV wich is not, developers made such a piece of software but I am trying to experiment with ardupilot, it looks more solid to me, just my opinion.
I have 2 omnibus style F4 (one PRO V2 and one without current sensor V3) and a Matek F405 WING, and it would be interesting seeing some educational video on how to get this board working with features like FrSky telemetry etc.
Happy flying to you too :)
See my video in the F405 Wing being fitted into a Caipirinha wing.. you’re spot on - ardupilot is a LOT more mature and has had many more years of development and testing than iNav, Betaflight and others.. that’s why I use it for some models. See my video on ‘what flight controller and show are should you use’ for my thoughts..
Hi can i ask directly, can inav stabilise yaw with using diferential thrust ?
For example wing with two front motors.
Thanks !
You can setup to have the stabilised yaw controls mixed into the two motor outputs..
Hello I would like to change the order of the engines but there is no remapping function as on betaflight.
how to do ? thank you
I've not tried that - i bet you can sort that using the mixer in iNav2.0. if you figure it out please let me know.. Best of luck!
Can we use one rule for roll and Y cable for ailerons
Yes you can.. Happy flying!
@@Painless360 Thank you for replying! Keep up with the good work!!!
Is there a possibility to attach a 1 axis gimball motor, so I can attach my HD cam to it?
Yep, you can either output one of the controls from the receiver directly or use the gimbal output from iNav for it depending on if it's using it's own onboard stabiliser.. Best of luck!
what do you prefer? inav or arduplane
See my video from August where I can pair and suggest where you would use all of the most popular current flight controller options. I like both, it depends on what I want to use the model for.. happy flying!
This is a great video, it has saved me lots of time and even prevented me from throwing INAV into the trash bin altogether, since I thought that it's not possible to have two separate flap servos for left and right flap.
My erroneous presumption and a large part of my confusion and frustration with INAV came from another, older video which I unfortunately found first when looking for help setting up a full wing glider:
Setting up custom servo mixes in iNav (or Cleanflight/Betaflight) for V Tail
ua-cam.com/video/qL2LMFF5bJ4/v-deo.html
In that video everything seemed to be completely static, I spent lots of time trying to find the tables for servo slots for input sources in original, and I was about to give up when I realized that it's not possible. I'm glad that I found this video in time.
That's why my videos all have a date on them so you can see if the information is old.. Happy flying

Nooooooo you showed your face..........not a myth anymore in my book..............no I have to go search for big foot or the chupa cabra
Sounds like you’ve not watched for a while - first video showing my face was the 100k video on the 6th August :)
Thank you
Just spent to 2 day working on this issue i want to use a bff3 board for a ares gama pro and the bff3 only has 4 outputs it should be enough but the motors take 2 out puts and there is no way we found so far to remove motor 2 out put and Reassign servo two to motor two output to be able to use all 3 outputs for servos. Do you have a workaround for that ?
In a plane mix the first two outputs are always for motors. You can't change them - even in this latest version of iNav. As mentioned in the video it's a legacy thing (explained a lot more in that original mix video)..
