This Magneto isn't a Holocaust survivor. He had a different backstory in X-Men TAS. But it's an easy mistake since X men 97 (and X Men TAS after his backstory) don't really address how he isn't a Holocaust survivor.
If Docter Doom is in the right about calling out your terrorism, you know you're the villan
Facts, if Victor Von Doom is telling him that, then you know you’re on a whole different kind of evil ☝️😰
And Doom actually likes Mutants, he has some in Latveria.
Nah, Doom just doesn’t wanna be connected to these things.
You think a guy like Doom would care about war crimes if they didn’t have the potential to screw him over?
Dr. Doom is a villain and is ruthless, but he has a sense of honor and some moral standards, Bastion has neither of those qualities.
Don't mess with Doom lol

MLK was peaceful and wanted to show that instead of being violent they can get equal rights. Charles wants nonviolence and wants peace between humans and mutants
Charles is like Gandhi and Magneto is like Subash Chandra Bose

It was the humans who let him down
Yeah cause genocide is never wrong by that logic

Say what you will about Magneto but he did warn the judges not to "make him let you down."
@@stachpema452What Magneto does is always in retaliation though. The world would be a lot more peaceful if they just left the mutants alone.
And it's not like its disproportionate either. What caused Magneto to shut down the whole world was literally an attempt at mutant genocide.
And if you say, "Its just specific groups of people, not humanity as a whole." then why aren't the damn Avengers and other humans in general fighting against these human threats to the mutants? The X-Men _always_ fight against mutant threats to humanity.
Magneto ain't evil. He just looking out for his own kind. Magnus will always protect Mutant no matter what
His like Malcom X and Charles is Martin Luther King. Both opposite side of the coin
One is dreaming to have a peaceful resolution
But the another is just being realistic that whatever good there will always be hatred.

He tried, he trully did
His speech on ep 2 is a proof of that

Wasn't proved in that X-Men in the OG series ultimately Charles is right because without him shit goes sideways fast.

@@dbears1603 Yeah still a 100 times better than an all out world war that will lead to mutant extinction.
Just look at what Magneto did last episode his planetary EMP has done more damage than any horror he has experienced, not the holocaust and not Genosha. How many planes just fell out of the sky, life support machines turned off, cars that lead to accidents, pace makers. And remember there's no guarantee the sentinels will stay down for good after that blast.
The dude just killed millions of innocent people now the other heroes have to get involved in this war and mutants are more fucked then they've ever been.
Charles is way may have had it's faults but it's always been better than Magneto's. Magneto's way get's quick results but they do not last very long, Charles's take longer and are more impactful.
@@langadube9611 neither way seems to work if Charles way worked magneto wouldn't be on the timing he's own and we wouldn't see so many negative futures and magneto was leads to war. Also if the mutants ever do win or switch up the situation Charles and the X-Men fight against them because it wasn't achieved the way the want it to be
It’s so upsetting that Magneto tried to use Professor X’s vision of humans and mutants united in peace, sharing the world and then, Genosha was completely annihilated, so now he’s going back to his own way. He wants to help his fellow mutant brethren, yet humankind, just simply doesn’t want that to happen. We really don’t stop and think. We just do. After what he’s been through, and everything he’s had to witness, I’d definitely say that he’s got every single right to do so. So, three words: MAGNETO IS RIGHT!
Nah he's a terrorist
But the weren’t annihilated by the people they were making peace with. It was time travel shenanigans that got in the way. Plus there’s another mutant that helped with that whole thing.

@@looming416though all that was made possible by human extremist who were funded by the government and Mr. Sinister isn't a true mutant he turned himself into that
@looming416 well the time traveler is backed by the same UN they were making peace with. So almost every human would leader signed on to this and if any didint they at least werint committed enought against it to reveal the plan.
Say what you want about Magneto but you can't say he doesn't love mutantkind from the bottom of his heart.
"When I was a boy my people marched while others prepared for war. My people used reason while they used tanks. Never again"
-Magneto from the original series
That "Never again" reminds me of Magneto in X-Men: First Class
I’m 1000% on Magnetos side. He told them not to make him let them down and they ended up letting him down. It’s up. They were warned.
Uh a mutant let him down lol (Bastion)
Seriously, the one person who was supposed to be non biased in giving mutants a chance... Just walking around casually with his greatest enemy. This man was on call with Doom and Zemo and the government's mutant liaison was just having a conversation about his plans for genocide. When the Sentinel “KILLED” Magneto it said “OMEGA LEVEL “THREAT” and the previous episode Cable used an Electro Magnetic grenade. He was always the threat and the key for the War

It’s like Malcom X said, “by any means nessecary”
Yes violence is bad but if your people are being wiped out, of course you should fight back. Magneto was right and honestly I think Professor X shouldn’t led the X-men in the show anymore bc Magneto would actually help the mutants fight back and not get wiped by the sentinels

Malcolm x would have never gotten us to being respected
@@EmperorDxD Yeah Malcom X did fail, but I still understand his methodology/ideals. I will say though, I’m not black nor am I trying to say your wrong, I’m simply stating what I feel.
I belive both MLK and Malcom X were right in their ideals, but I do agree with MLK more. I think that focusing on nonviolence is the way to go but when need be turn to fighting back. Hell most of the nonviolent MLK protests turned violent. Like I said, I’m not black, so I’m not trying to trample on you or others who actually experience racism.
@@HerMajestyVelvetActually Malcom X changed his views when after he visited Mecca and saw many people getting along of various ethnicities and religions.
For this he got killed when he came back.
So if he wasn't killed, he would have diverted more to MLK's position
@@budgiecat9039 True, I forgot about any when I was writing my comment
People only know the peaceful MLK, not the historical one. If you studied Black History and the Civil Rights movement in college, you'll realize two things.
1) Malcolm X changed after his trip to Mecca and became more peaceful. He also saw the Nation of Islam as incorrect and Elijah Muhammad couldn't have someone that influential going it on his own.
2) MLK began to understand the importance of riots and violent resistance. He began to understand why Malcolm X had the perspective he did after watching his people be beaten and murdered for years. He said in The Other America speech he gave in 1967, a year before his death:
..."Let me say, as I’ve always said, and I will always continue to say, that riots are socially destructive and self-defeating. I’m still convinced that nonviolence is the most potent weapons available to oppress people in their struggle for freedom and justice. I feel that violence will only create more social problems than they will solve, that in a real sense, it is impractical for the Negro to even think of mounting a violent revolution in the United States. So I will continue to condemn riots and continue to say to my brothers and sisters that this is not the way. Continue to affirm that there is another way.
Martin Luther King, Jr.: (23:54)
But at the same time, it is as necessary for me to be as vigorous in condemning the conditions which cause persons to feel that they must engage in riotous activities, as it is for me to condemn riots. I think America must see that riots do not develop out of thin air. Certain conditions continue to exist in our society, which must be condemned as vigorously as we condemn riots. And in the final analysis, a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it that America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the Negro poor has worsened over the last few years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice, equality, and humanity. So in a real sense, our nation’s summer’s riots are caused by our nation’s winters of delay. And as long as America postpones justice, we stand in the position of having these recurrences of violence and riots over and over again. Social justice and progress are the absolute guarantors of riot prevention."
He and Malcolm X were getting closer to each other in ideology and the government couldn't have the two movements and leaders coming together. They were deliberately killed to prevent that from happening. The U.S. Government already admitted in a trial to having a pivotal role in the death of MLK. MLK going from a complete position of non-violence to saying he understands why violence is occurring scared white people so they did what they've been doing since the dawn of the country.
Can we also point out how he just made a top 5 MCU Moment.
As soon as val said "Magneto is right"

*LITERAL DEPICTION OF A WAR CRIME*
"Magneto was right"
Xavier's idealism in the face of actual realized threats is sickening. Magneto was always right. Peace is worth fighting for, but the peace of submission without justice is no peace at all.
They let him down.
The worst of Humanity asked for this war.
X-men 97 really speaks volumes on what is really happening in our world today
For Magneto his trying to be a better person but people are really stirring the pot on doing horrible things so for him on what happen to Genosha and the betrayal of Val Cooper only makes him angry enough to declare war against humans.
There is a saying
" no matter what goodness is our Hearts there will always be Conflict "
Dr.Doom just said " I'm a villian not a monster.".
Also "I'm a dictator, not a nazi".
After watching this episode, Bastion quickly became one of my favourite X-Men villains. Bastion is such a great villain in this show, and his plan is genius yet horrific to think about. His being a mix of Nimrod & Master Mold is wild. I love how charismatic he is with his belief that mutants supposedly take away humans' chances of the future, like a twisted, charismatic entrepreneur/salesman pitching his belief onto your average human middle-class guy, spreading more fear and insecurities about mutants to inevitably get them to act on said fears. What's even worse is that there is a level of truth and meta-commentary from his philosophy and how he manipulates blue-collar class racism and the bigotry normal humans create based on their fears. Not to mention the fact that such a big part of the population are secretly Human Sentinel sleeper agents and didn't even know it is SCARY ASF! These things can also reproduce and extend the human population, making the implications even more terrifying.
It's funny how Gyrich teased this fate in the first episode, saying, "Tolerance is extinction." This basically means that whenever humanity starts tolerating mutants, humans will inevitably believe they'll go extinct; therefore, they think that whenever mutants start tolerating humans, mutants need to go extinct, hence what happened in Genosha.
Even though Magneto may have been right, that still doesn't mean Charles' vision is impossible, and now that Charles is back and Magento has declared war on humanity, the stakes are even higher than ever. It is also sad that Magneto had to suffer even more watching innocent mutants massacred and being tortured by Bastion, especially when, back in episode 2, he genuinely wanted to change and was doing so in honour of Charles's memory.
The fact that Doctor Doom didn't agree which Bastion's plans of genocide, despite his involvement, really shows how dangerous Bastion is, and its pretty in character for Doctor Doom since Doom was also a victim of persecution and extermination after having to watch his family of Romani people hunted down as a child but a tyrannical baron before Doom took over
Couldn't agree more my friend speaking 💯 facts.
I don't think they've ever showed a future where Charles dream came true, and I would say what magneto did was a response to a declaration
If only humans knew that the mutants are just humans but with the X gen activated they probably realise that they doomed themselves
Props to Magneto, He tried it Charles’s way, he genuinely did, seemed like Mutants finally got a place to call their own and it ended beyond horribly. Now he’s out for revenge, Bastion is doomed, he’s not living to see Season 2, avenge Gambit Magneto please! Then Humanity is screwed. And he was right, Humans can barely tolerate each other on our best days, we could not share the earth.
My issue is they skipped over Nimrod
Seeing Doom in this gives me hope of a Fantastic four show or even the avengers earths mightiest heroes. Doom in the Avengers show was cold and calculated like always.
Yes, I want them to bring back the Fantastic 4 show, (90’s) hell I want them to bring back all the 90’s marvel shows, because those shows were golden ☝️😎🔥🔥
Spider-man 94 is back
From what i have read online, season 2 might introduce Onslaught
#magnetowasright!
This episode was the 2nd best episode
I have no problem with the X men changing their methods and maybe using a bit more brutal tactics. But i don't want them to fully be on Magneto's side as i want the X men to remain as the heroes we love and not become villains. We've had enough heroes going dark and going bad (cough cough Superman) we need more optimistic and altruistic heroes like classic Superman and X men.
Magneto may have been right about human nature but he's wrong about Human and mutant relations and roles of both species. He sees himself and mutants as the superior species "the master race" and believes they should rule the world. Sound familiar (cough cough Hitler) Magneto my be a victim but he's no blameless Saint or misunderstood hero he's no better than Trass and Gyrich.
As he purposely hijacked a nuclear plant and tried to kill hundreds of innocent people and in this episode he created an EMP that shutdown every hospital and airplane in the world killing millions. When you fight fire with fire you create more fire and everyone gets burned. Magneto is just insiding more violence and hatred and both sides.Creating more divide between humans and mutants which will lead to a war that'll get both sides killed.
If you think people can remain that way in a world like this then you haven't been paying attention or reading history. There's a reason you only see those types of heroes in comic books.

Magneto is the consequences of bigotry getting clapped back. At best. What makes Magneto interesting is that on his good days he is an anti-hero that pulls no punches and at worst he is as nearly as bad as the monster that persecuted him.

But in the process, Magneto has proved the opposition right. A legitimate concern is that of mutants turning their powers against the human populace. And Magneto was not doing this to a select area, but to the whole world. He has inadvertently killed hundreds of not thousands but cutting off power for life support and caused vehicular crashes worldwide.

@@josephbernardthesecond4974 bold of you to assume I'd stand with magneto.
Granted, mutants are humans, like others, just with genetic mutations.
However magneto wouldn't have attacked if he didn't have good reason to. He yearned for mutants to have their own haven. But he kept Charles Xaviers way in mind and made a conscious effort to ensure that his dreams wouldn't die. But literally magneto is in the right to basically declare war. He tried things Charles way, but literally humans still wanted beef.
Plus, it's not like magneto wanted to commit the attack. He's simply in a position in which hes properly justified with more than enough of pretenses to retaliate.
Is it wrong for a wild animal to attack a hunter for taking one of its offspring?
@@giyuutomioka6974 There is no justification in killing millions of innocent people ever, he not only killed humans but mutants in his attack.
@@josephbernardthesecond4974 try looking at it from his point of view.
Magneto is a holocaust survivor, He wanted to make a safe space for mutants, his best friend wanted for humans and mutants to co-exist, even though magneto knew humans wouldn't tolerate it, he still challenged his own views as a whole to put himself into the position of his friend. He literally pulled his weight, and people still weren't having it and so the attack on genosha happened. After years of dealing with crap and trauma, this is arguably rather reasonable. And I'm not even playing devils advocate in this case. If you take into perspective of humans and mutants, mutants are literally discriminated against just because not all of them can blend into society. Charles Xavier wanted to give mutants a home where they can be safe, and eventually control their powers and co-exist with humans. Eric lensherr wanted to create a haven island that encourages mutants freedom away from humans to prosper and be free from discrimination. Not too different from the speech Dr. Martin Luther King gave before he was assassinated. He said he dreamed about white boys and girls being able to share their lives with black boys and girls. He wanted people to accept each side, regardless of the color of their skin. To put an end to racism and discrimination and for everyone to be on equal level and given the same opportunities as one would give the other of the same look. Who are humans to judge mutants for being different when the humans literally discriminate agaisnt them for things they either haven't done or likely wouldn't do. If peace can be made, it should have effort made for it, magneto tried that approach and he was spit in the face. Imagine how that feels.
@@josephbernardthesecond4974 well try seeing it from magnetos perspective.
Imagine fighting for something to finally achieve your dream, but then it suddenly basically becomes hell on earth. After all that effort basically went down the drain. How would you feel? It feels like the effort you made was wasted. And the feeling of wasted effort feels like falling off the street and you hit your head on the curb. It's not a good feeling and it's difficult to come back from.
Plus, idk if you saw the original 90s xmen show, but magneto would basically be justified in this case.
But when professor x comes back he’s probably gonna make magneto do it his way
I like magneto but I will always side with good
Killing millions of innocent people makes you bad no matter what.

Magneto was always right humans have kept trying to commit genocide in mutants and trying to massacre them but people swear magneto wrong for wanting to end all humanity and forgot to mention before you’ll bring up xavier he ain’t shit in the og series he made magneto his best friend relive the holocaust
The Real Question now is
How will Charles let Eric change his methods yet again? I think these time it is the last straw Erik really tried to be optimistic like Charles but now really he knows Humans are really never gonna change no matter what.
@doctorslayer2106 or better yet Charles finally gives in to magnetos way but in a way that'll be sure that it'll still be Charles way in the end
Imagine if Charles makes Magneto have a second round of Holocaust flashbacks?
Nah... Magneto turning back into a villain just proves the point of why humanity is afraid of mutants. Him becoming evil again just add salt to the injury.

Can I say 2 things.
1. Magneto creating a EMP with his powers is the coolest thing ever and shows just how powerful he is plus how it took out every android sentinel
2. Seeing Spider-Man in this episode was hype AF if we get a X-men ‘97 style reboot for the old 90s Spider-Man show and this scene is in it that would be so cool.
Magneto was right also can't believe doom thought bastion went to far lol
Thanos 🤝 Magneto
Both villains with moral codes and they were right, *sort of.*
Thanos in the comics commited genocide for a girl and in the MCU killed half of the population across the universe including his own daughter and tried to erase all life. Magneto is a mutant supremacist he see's himself and mutants as the superior species "the master race" and believes they should rule the world.
The best anti hero and broken antagonist.
Honestly even when Magneto was truly trying u could feel he was really dancing at the razor edge of the knife and just the right push would definitely set him back and say 'Fuck It, and i was right'
Episode was top tier for sure but did anybody love Bastion and nightclawers power effects 😭🙌🏽
X-Men'97, season 3 of the bad batch, and season 2 of invincible 2024 is really a great year for animated shows
Magneto became a playable character, and look where that got him
Half the time magneto is the reason humans are scared of mutants
I’m waiting for Cyclops to start his anti hero arc because I’d rather a hero who tried to do good be the magneto figure than the holocaust victim who attempted a nuclear one.
Like, Erik has his good reasons, but he still tried to murder Xavier and put people in danger on purpose to try to.
Sometimes war has to come before peace ✌️
I need to binge this when I get home from college
90’s Spiderman is back
Professor X: we need to coexist Magnus it’s the only way
Magneto: you want me to coexist? They’re building robots to kill us
I hope spidy showing up was a tease at that show coming back
They got to bring back the crossovers Cause I know this is affecting other superheroes like Spider-Man Avengers Ghostwriter blade All those other superheroes that we got back in a day that's in that same universe
I’m honestly hoping when they do season 2 they gotta bring Spider-Man back for a team up episode would be insnae
Nah, peace was off the table once you sent killer robots.
I’m just glad they brought back spider-man
