- I decided to put together a bunch of random autocross runs from the Goodguys Des Moines 2020 event. These aren't all the cars that were racing at Des Moines but it's a decent amount of them.

Great video....Green Gremlin!!!!!
That scout 2 is epic!!!!
It is indeed. Has seeded my imagination with temptation.
---Just my two cents.
I watched it go this year
Thank you so much! I wasn't there that year but I've spent a whole bunch of really fun days at that show over the years, and quite a few hours watching them autocross. That includes several of the cars you show.
Love Autocross
What a great variety of cars
The last vette and the gray vette made it look easy! Very nice
I LOVE IT!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!!
I’m glad. That’s the whole point of it.
Loved the video. Looks like a lot of fun.
Thanks. The racers had a great time
Nicely filmed, real quality job. Some real nice ones showed up that year, some I even remember from Minnesota
Thanks. I’m still learning and I’m a one man show so everything you see is just me.
@@315squared4 your very welcome. Do you, or have you run a car or your car in it before?
Love the Scout!
Great video
awsome vid!!!!
The scout and the red firebird were my treats.
What’s a scout? Do you have the time stamp?
Nice!beating on a 6 figure split window vette
Who one?
I haven't seen one of those wide body Vegas since the 70s!
It’s all hand built too. I need to do a feature video on that car
How well does AWD work for this? I'm looking to get started with my Impreza.
Most are rear wheel drive but some guys that run optima events and events like Grid Life do run AWD and are very competitive. Most Goodguys events are classic vehicles hence the rear wheel drive.
Can anyone tell me what the metal gray 00 car is? Went between the red Chevy and the green vette. Ford Falcon???
Boa tarde congrats carro vai amén bom trabalho
How much for auto crossing?
All events are different pricing but this particular event I believe was around $150 for the weekends events
@@315squared4 Infinite amount of runs?
@@Phuong_Nguyen_ well at a Goodguys event it depends on how many vehicles show up. If they get 100 vehicles that want to autocross you’re probably only going to get 4 runs max a day. If only 20 cars show up you might get 20 runs or more. So it really depends on the vehicle count
Possibly stupid question: can you autocross with a FWD car?
Of course. The handling is different with getting in and out of corners but there’s many drivers that autocross Honda’s. It’s just not the goto setup but certainly you could.
@@315squared4 ok. Thanks! I've got a Saturn Ion Redline. Was trying to find something I could do with it other than drag.
Arcane Shadows I had a Saturn ion although it wasn’t the redline model. There should be a SCCA near you that does autocross track days for novice and advanced
@@315squared4 that's how I found this video. Des Moines is probably the closest. Even though it's SEVERAL hours away.
Arcane Shadows Des Moines is a great show but since it’s a Goodguys event the vehicle has to be 1987 or older to enter.
FF
Autocross is still the gayest motor sport
Why? Do you have fun driving Autocross?
I think drifting holds that title.
@@user-ge2qn6gp4o Drifting requires balls and talent, I think drag racing holds that title.
@Mukund Shivakumar, stupidly accurate. Drag racing is basically only an engineering thing. And cars like most things usually get better if you throw money at the problem so it’s a sport of who has the most money
