I'm at work now, and I CAN'T WAIT to get home to see if this is what effed me up yesterday. I was so infuriated it took all my control to contain myself.
Omgosh.. what an idiot I was!!! I immediately went to my sewing machine and … yes… the bobbin winder was engaged. I looked at everything but that!! I am a newish sewing and just decided I want to try making a 9 block vanishing block and thanks to you video I can try it!! Thanks for posting what may seem simple to others, but still needs to be stated for newbies like me!
thanku for this comment. i wasn't able to use my machine because i thought it was stocked up. came to this video and reading comment while watching. went over my machine and it was indeed engaged🤦🏽♀️
omg!!! I bought a new machine because mine wouldn’t move… started watching your video - it WAS my bobbin winder engaged!!! thank- you!! bringing my new machine back! thank you thank you!!!
Thank you. After fiddling around for an hour watching UA-cam videos I was at a loss as to why the wheel wouldn’t turn. My husband had filled a bobbin prior to this. I would have never thought that it hadn’t released, but that’s exactly what happened.
I literally took my sewing machine apart.... I spent hours and I am a new sewer so i nearly gave up on the whole plot! You saved my new hobby and I thank you immensely!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am like everyone else!! I was FLIPPING OUT because I have alterations due tomorrow and I couldn't understand why my machine wasn't working. It was the bobbin winder. thank you thank you thank you
Oh thank you so much for showing me the bobbin winder switch!! I couldn’t figure out why the wheel would not turn counter clockwise very far so I was thinking something jammed it. I am back in business after months of not using my machine. God bless you!!
Very grateful for this video! I too took the back off my machine and was baffled. I had not used my machine for a long time and tried to sew. The machine sewed for a little bit then got stuck.....every time 🤣 Great lesson for solving a problem: Assess the function of everything that you can see, even if it appears to be irrelevant. Then delve deeper.
Thank you thank you! The dang bobbin winder! I took the hand wheel cover off and saw the problem where it was being blocked from turning but did not know it had to do with the bobbin winder being engaged. I wish Juki made a note of that in the Troubleshooting section of the operator’s manual. Glad I stumbled across this video or I would have hauled the machine in to a repair shop.
OMG! I have my machine taken half apart, getting back into a bit of sewing for a costume and thought I had a broken belt or something serious, nothing moved, motor ran but acted like it was in neutral, revving a car engine and going nowhere. Could not figure out how to engage the drive head, nothing worked and THEN this video, solved it in fifteen seconds! Let me say, I owe you big time for this! If you are ever in America I'll buy you a drink! Cheers and thank you again! Bobbin winder... it was the bobbin winder! Blonde I am for sure! 🤣
So, if the bobbin winder spins very slowly, or not at all…is it typically the rubber tire needing replacement? I finally got it to stitch, but I cannot make a bobbin anymore. Tried to remove cover but no luck accessing rubber; hoping there’s a # on it. I cannot find my model online either, for the rubber tire size; Euro-Pro X 7130. Is there a compatible make/model?- they never name mine on Amazon or sewing parts sites. Frustrated.
What even when bobbin winder is in not winding position? Wheel still feels tight when you turn it. What is the issue in this case? Wheel should be freely turning right.
@@anniecurtis8147 After going through lot of other (Indian Hindi) UA-cam videos , I found the issue with my sewing machine. It was thread broken in the shuttle. Mine is basic Singer Start model where removing shuttle and cleaning was easy. It was on two clips. When I removed the shuttle to clean I found lot of thread broken and stuck there. Also all the cotton like stuff. I cleaned all and found my wheel was free. Finally I oiled it and it's good to sew again.

Hi I have a singer Simple machine and when I engage the bobbin winder. The hand wheel is not turning WHICHI IS CORRECT But the clutch is no properly working and the belt also jammed. So matching is not able to thread the bobbing winder and it is jammed basically. any solution, please tell me
I got excited and rushed to my jammed machine hoping it was the bobbin winder. Sadly not. So guess I am going to make a trip to the service place tomorrow. The hand wheel is not turning using food peddle and when I manually turn it, it does but with resistance. I also oiled the belt. Not much difference.
The Bobbin winder!!!!! I didn't even THINK of that! lol It's always the simple things you overlook. Yeah, I had it apart and oil and everything. On the brightside, I needed to do maintenance anyway. LOL Thank you! Thank you!
I don’t have this problem…bobbin winder is disengaged. The wheel gets blocked as is the needle so I cut the thread from the top and find broken thread inside or wound around the axis for the bobbin (I don’t know what it’s called - the metal stick that holds the bobbin).
@@rachaelparker3064 Firstly, have patience, these machines don’t operate the same everyday. I know it sounds silly but that has been my experience. Hello , my singer sewing machine heavy duty I just purchased it brand new but when I attempt to start sewing it’s almost like the needle won’t move ?? I made sure the bobbin lock isn’t engaged so it’s not that and everything it threaded correctly and the power works it’s just when I am ready to sew it almost sounds like something is blocking the machine from moving ??
Anyone was able to find the solution to why it could be jammed when the bobbin was disengaged? Am still trying to find a solution here for my janome embroidery machine 😭
Hi. It must be a problem somewhere else in the machine. Try removing your bobbin case and looking for thread tangled in that area. Could be any number of issues causing it. If the machine hasn't been serviced recently it may need oil and clean. Thanks.
