He mentioned in his book that it's important not to allow the tendons to take over with using heavy weight but to allow the muscle to do the most work. I do believe that if you can isolate body parts such as using wide grip bench then you're using 90% of your chest rather than say 66% with a regular grip bench press; in which you would have to continually add tons of weight to see any gains because of the weight distribution between your tris and chest.
Steve Reeves way of training works.Full body workout 3 times per week, big compunds, some isolation,4 rest days to do some light activities.Stick to it and forget bro splits.
Mister Forgotten Fitness, can i please buy the PDF book from you? I live in Europe and I cant find it to order it to Europe as well. I'm also a student and it would be cheaper to get it PDF than hardcover/paperback. Could you please help me?
Can you help? I understand Reeves did the cable row for teres and upper lat. Bit confused on the form did he stay with a bent rounded back at the end of the movement? or did he straighten his back? surely this book has a diagram of it somewhere..
@@ForgottenFitness Ah right i was confused because John Grimek had said he would keep his back rounded when rowing all the way. I seen a picture of his though where he starts off rounded, so at least that is true
I highly recommend reading Steve Reeves Bodybuilding Journal: An analysis by Clinton Emshoff best book i read other than The wild physique which is the only book you'll ever need to be honest.
Hello, I'm a great admirer of Steve Reeves from Natural Bodybuilding, I'm from the south of Brazil, Latin America, here there isn't much content in this book directly from the source (Steve's own book) sorry for the English, I'm using a translator, could you please clear up a big question? , in the book is there any part where Steve Reeves states that he trains 3x full body?
I'm actually going Steve reeves inspired nutrition, strength training and cardio. For 100 days, then I look results. 4x times in week Powerwalk. 45min per session. 3x times In week full body strength training workout.
@@jmgonzales7701 first since it's been year now, i have officially lost 31 kg or 68 lbs this year, while having this program. I will admit that i workout at home, doing Calisthenics and using my Barbell and Dumbbells, heaviest being 20kg or 45lbs. I also do controlled hard sets, to point of fatigue or failure. That being said my program is on my next comment.
Do you know if they also do shippings for italy ?
This is my bible for fitness. It has great ideas for cardio and stretching too. Classic book 🎉
Me too, I've got a lot of fitness books but this is the one that I read daily, and I follow the routines (modified slightly). Reeves was the man!

He would straighten it at the top in the same way Arnold does in pumping iron

he stayed with a rounded back the whole time.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.
Did Reeves do Multi set training ? And did he train to failure?
He did do multi set training and he did not train to failure.
@@ForgottenFitness do you know how short of failure ?
he trained to momentary muscular failure

I want to see Steve Reeves not the oversized and phony Arnold Schwarzenegger. Other than that the video is very good. Just removes the phonies!
