Well, during Duelist Kingdom, the top screen allowed you to see what was on the opponents field. So the fact that Weevil didn't notice that Yugi had a facedown is his own fault.
Fun note: during duelist kingdom whenever a monster is destroyed by an effect the controller takes half its ATK as damage meaning mirror force would double as a burn card
Do the math. Whatever monster is attacking and Yugi uses mirror force the damage is actually that monsters attack points against all other opponents monsters. In the pegasus duel it's easy to figure out the math cuz it's summoned skulls attack against red archer archery girl
The best part of Vrains to me will always be when Revolver was shown to have this super OP mystery card, only for it to turn out to be Mirror Force. Then from that point on they kept having him bring out old school trap cards like Magic Cylinder, Imperial Order, and even Mind Crush.
In Duelist Kingdom, it wasn't Mirror Force that damaged Weevil. In the DK rule (yes there were some) if a monster is destroyed by a card effect the player takes damage equal to half of the monster(s) ATK points.

Or the duel between Yuma and Girag. Almost all of Girag's card's where stupidly specific with very little payoff. And don't get me started on Yusei...

Shining silver force makes sense because, as a little trivia, mirrors used to be backed with silver to give them their reflective quality. We have since found other ways of doing it, but mirrors used to be made with silver, so silver force being a mirror force card makes sense.
Considering they’re using dueling machines it might be a case similar to Yugioh games/dueling simulators, so it’s Weavil’s fault for not paying attention.
I feel like you got the divine and light attributes mixed up. Radiant Mirror Force seems to be more in line with Divine beasts requiring 3 tributes, hence the requirement for 3 attack position monsters for its use. Shining Mirror Force is more in line with the whole light fairy counter trap Sanctuary in the Sky theme
Personally I think the OG Mirror Force, based on it's japanese name is supposed to be the light inspired one, while yeah, Radiant is the Divine one, and Shining is more a support or inspired card (still has force and barrier in japanese, but isn't a regular trap like the others, nor does it activate on attack declaration).
I personally believe the OG mirror force is meant to not have an attribute. In GX there’s the clear arctype whose gimmick is that they have no attribute as they’re see through. Since mirror force in Japan is the only one with “mirror” in the name it can be assumed that it was meant to be see a non attributable version.
Now we have Dark Magic Mirror Force coming out as part new support for the Shining Sarcophagus archetype, specifically for the Dark Magician retrained monster.
Dark Mirror Force would've been better and seen a lot more play if it affected Attack Position monsters instead of Defense Position monsters. Personally, I feel that the Mirror Force cards have different niches to fill. You wouldn't want to use Storming Mirror Force against a Deck that relies heavily on Summoning from the hand or the standard Mirror Force against a Graveyard oriented deck.
Dark mirror force is the best in a lot of situations because it punishes your opponent for trying to work around mirror force, or can ruin a defensive deck
During the duelist kingdom arc of Yu-Gi-Oh duel monsters, the fields where you place your cards on had a screen on top showing the opponents field. So technically yugi didn't do a misplay. It's just weevils fault he didn't notice yugi set a card, THEN he could've responded. Other than that I don't see how yugi performed anything wrong.
Weevil was overconfident. Truthfully, with the acces to cards they had in the anime, you couldn't really remove the monsters he used that easily. The decks were very specialized. Splashable cards weren't really that available.
The divine mirror force perfectly represent the God cards. When the gods are summoned they can't be affect by card effects on the turn they 're summoned.
Well, no, cards/ effects can't be activated in response to their normal summon, and their normal summon can't be negated, but they aren't protected beyond that, except for Obelisk also having the effect that it can't be targeted by the opponent's card effects. But while you can't trap hole/ torrential tribute them, since those activate in response to the summoning, you can absolutely pop them with Mirror Force or Card Crush/ Deck Devastation Virus even on that same turn.
Mirror Force was the first UR i ever pulled in a physical pack. It will always have a place in my heart. With that said, Quaking Mirror Force is probably my favorite card in the archetype. I love cards that force monsters face down and remove the ability to flip them back face up.

I really love Quaking Mirror Force. You just waste your opponent's monster zones with face down monsters they can do very little with. It is also non-targeting which is a nice bonus.
As far as the fairness level of yugi setting Mirror Force on his opponent's turn, Weevil tossed Exodia off the side of a boat and by proxy nearly caused his best friend to drown while trying to recover them. Between slyly setting the card here and the Monsta Cardo episode later, yugi got even.
Small Trivia: From all normal trap mirror forces, drowning mirror force is the only who activates only when an opponent's direct attack is declared when all others can be activated when any opponent's attack is declared.
I really like the original Mirror Force. No matter how advanced the game has gotten, it's always a good feeling to bop all of my opponent's monsters with one card. Plus, it's a great get out of jail free card.

Fun fact: drowning mirror force is the only card out of mirror force series that requires a direct attack unlike the other mirror forces( except silver) requiring your opponent to declare an attack
Against Weevil, Yugi placed the trap during his opponents turn. In Duelist Kingdom a lot of people activated spells and traps from their hand on the opponents turn, as well as setting monsters in the Spell/Trap zone as a trap. Also ground monsters can't hit flying monsters unless they are on a horse and machine monsters have immunity from spellcaster attacks. Duelist Kingdom was the wild west of yugioh, anything goes.
Whenever I think of Mirror Force appearing in the anime I think of 5Ds when Crow has it set but doesn't use it and loses the duel as a result but it was to boost the guys confidence or something
I believe blazing mirror forced got a change in its effect (from both players take damage at the same time to the player who uses it takes the damage first) I guess they did that just to prevent any draw.

Mirror Force one of the OG Trap Cards. It took me awhile to get that card back in highschool.
It's an iconic card mirror forces to trap cards like monster reborn is to magic cards.
I think theres a greedy little pot who disagrees
Mirror mirror on the wall which archetype will rule them all
Can you do trivia for all the utopia xyz monsters?
Over the span of a hundred videos maybe
Drowning mirror force was like my dark magican card everytime I was in stock situation playing against my friend
5:55
Ha ha ha, yeeeeeeeah about that......... It can't. Never could.
I love these videos and id love to see you do the naturia archtype :)
Great vid! I’d like to see a Six Samurai Archetype Vid.
I really hope Mirror Force makes a triumphant return in Sevens just as it did in Vrains. Next to Yugi, Revolver is the king of Mirror Force.
The only trap card that I'll ever remember.
Once it's used on you you'll never forget it
In Arc-V era quaking mirror force is the one that gave me PTSD. I main Blackwing, and Fluffals that time. It's such a nightmare
ME WHEN VIDEO COMES OUT: YAY A NEW VIDEO LET'S REV IT UP
You should make a video about Yugi vs Raphael if he could’ve won If he didn’t use the seal of orichalcos. Love the videos and content btw 👊🏽👊🏽
Wheeze has a deck worth of cards on the feild so
I really love Quaking Mirror Force. You just waste your opponent's monster zones with face down monsters they can do very little with. It is also non-targeting which is a nice bonus.
6:42 "EVERY BRIDGE WE BUUUUUIIIIIILLLLD!!!! YOU THINK IT'S YOURS JUST TO BURN IT DOOOOWN, BURN IT DOOOOWN!!!!!"
Jinzo is already waving at the distance.
Mirror Force Dragon can be destroyed by Mirror Force. *_LET THAT SINK IN._*
2:00 for the one who DESTROYED OTHER PERSON’S PROPERTY FOR HIS OWN BENEFIT
*NO MERCY*
I love Yu gi oh cards and the game.🤩
We need an actual mirror force deck, I don't care how cancerous it would be, we need it
The friendship end-er archtype
Can you do Ogdoadics next they seem really interesting and are based around Egyptian Myths.
The funny thing is that the worst attributes got the best mirror forces while the best attributes got the worst ones overall
Revolver/Varis just enjoys screwing around with old cards especially Mirror force.
Small Trivia: From all normal trap mirror forces, drowning mirror force is the only who activates only when an opponent's direct attack is declared when all others can be activated when any opponent's attack is declared.
When you said we'll start with...
I dont know why I was expecting a Monster
I really like the original Mirror Force. No matter how advanced the game has gotten, it's always a good feeling to bop all of my opponent's monsters with one card. Plus, it's a great get out of jail free card.
ah yes it's my turn I SET 5 CARDS AND END MY TURN.
Now my hapless foe care to guess what all these backrow cards are?
I promise there is only one answer and it rhymes with blirror morse.
*summons jinzo in attack position*
Darkstorm Dragon go brrrrrrrr
@@yeetyeet1865 very good options good people but you see i have an omni negate the likes of which you have never seen.
The surrender card it allows me to end all duels with my dignity mostly in tact
@@Cyrosus ah
Drowning mirror force is the best cause things rarely negate shuffling back into the deck next would be wind as it returns too hand but that only means Ur oponent can pop off again tho the earth and dark mirror force would work well
Go TGS
7:53, back in the Victorian era, they made their mirrors using silver nitrate, so, maybe there is that?
"HOLD YOUR FIREEEEE!" I mentally say that everytime I fall victim to a mirror force too Weevil..
It's been ages since I've watched the OG yugioh series maybe I should go bk and re watch it
the 4 kids dub didnt explain this but in japan at the star of duelist kingdo it says you take lp damedge from destroyed monsters based on attack points if i remember right
Fun fact: drowning mirror force is the only card out of mirror force series that requires a direct attack unlike the other mirror forces( except silver) requiring your opponent to declare an attack
I remember the sheer amount of times I've attacked into a mirror back when I used to play Yugioh on gba
7:23 that sounds like regular mirror force, but with more steps
Please do triamid archetype next😊. Also I love your videos keep up the good work.
Can you do an archetype video for the Sky Strikers or Melodious archetype videos? I love this series and learning more about decks I use.
I believe blazing mirror forced got a change in its effect (from both players take damage at the same time to the player who uses it takes the damage first) I guess they did that just to prevent any draw.
Yup, Mirror Force was used in Yugioh SEVENS as well, time for GO RUSH! to use it next
shining silver force makes sense since mirrors back in the day were silver-backed mirrors.
My order of best to worse storming mirror force, quaking mirror force, drowning mirror force, og mirror force, blazing mirror force, radiant mirror force, shining sliver force, and dark mirror force
