While Zane definitely was a contributing factor to Cyber Dragons’s popularity, it’s also worth mentioning the other reason. That being the fact that Cyber Dragon completely changed how we played the game forever. The reason is because of its summoning condition was something never seen before. Before it was printed, Special Summoning was just that, special. It rarely ever happened because of how slow the game was. So when Cyber Dragon was released, instantly you had a 2100 beater that could come out essentially for free. Because of how Cyber Dragon operated as a card, the entire game changed from then on, become more Special Summon focused. Zane’s Cyber Dragon/CyberDark Dragon archetype is really cool as the archetype reflects the way Zane transitioned from his dueling style and how he acted towards his opponents when he dueled them. It’s really cool the way the archetype reflects this as for example Cyber Dragon becomes darker in its alternate artwork which shows Zane’s transformation in the anime.
Zane would be perfect as an Arc V legacy character, literally with his XYZ Cyber Dragons they could write ARC V Zane as one of the most famous students of the Academia who realized what Academia did to the XYZ dimension and decided to leave and fight Academia
@@AKUNJIG Let's be honest, the Resistance could literally just be Zane, and the Academia wouldn't be able to win. It'd just crash against his Cyber Dragons, and crumple.
That could work. What about this little addition: he works for fusion, realizes that what they are doing is wrong, becomes good, then joins Yuya and pulls up with Nova and Infinity next time he fights against Fusion Dimension?
I think Infinite Impermanence is supposed to mean “nothing is truly eternal”. Hence the artwork shows Cyber Dragon Infinity crumbling apart. “infinity” breaks.
I also saw that it was called Infinite Transcience somewhere... Nothing lasts forever indeed, not even oir childhood friends or gaming bros. Everything has an end.

This archetype, elemental heroes and Destiny Heroes give me such great memories of my intermediate/highschool days. Even though I used to watch the older YGO anime, it was during the GX era that I got hooked into buying the cards and playing the game with friends. There was something special and cool about Jaden, Alexis and Zane's decks that pushed me into playing the game for once. "Nachster" is written as "Nächster" in german. And spoken as "Nexter" (like the english "next" with an "er" at the end) Also: "Zwei" is the german for Two, not three. "Drei" is the german for three. And "Vier" is the german for four.

I love Cyber Dragons. They have a simple game plan, are fun to play and have some insane OTK/FTK potential (chimera Overdragon with limiter removal, anybody?). But by far the craziest support card in this deck is Infinity. All it takes it literally 2 level 5 Monster to go into Nova, which gets you Infinity. If you don't trigger Nova's effect to get back a cyber dragon from the GY, you have a 2700 ATK Beater that can literally steal your opponents monster and throw out negates, as long as it has material. I built a cyber dragon deck in Master duel and infinity absolutely destroys the solo mode, no joke

As someone that knows German I would like to say the Zwei means Two, Drei is Three and Vier is Four. While I'm at it Herz means Heart in German. That's all
Still surprised there isn't a Blue Eyes Cyber Dragon or a Red Eyes Cyberdark Dragon
"Infinite Impermanence" is basically saying everything has an end
Someone: "Why are cyber dragons popular?"
Literally anyone else: "Because robot dragons"
Alredy commented, but I love the lore behind the evolution of Cyber Dragons
You have the defenseless core and the lackluster Prototype , followed by 1.0 and its varioations ( Laser and Reflector) , then having its shell replaced with a weaker, but sleaker and more efficient version in the form of Zwei, Drei and Vier and eventually getting to stuff like the Nova and Eternity variants
It genuenly feels like a creator trying his damndest to continously improve upon his creation, to the point he starty dabbling in powers he doesn't fully comprehend
You forgot the most obvious one where cyber dragon appears, infinite impermanence, it's nova but still cyber dragon.
Let there be a Cyber Ogre 3, Konami!
Also, hoping the Cyberdarks can get a few more main deck monsters.
Also calling out to the Konami Universe for 2 Cyberdark Link monsters.
Literally just bought the cyber dark structure. That's because I found this shop in Liverpool called Greek Retreat. Yugioh cards, digimon, pokemon etc. How amazing is that. Instead of online there's a shop of yugioh cards.
I love this archtype so much it along with my slifer deck are my favorite decks to play
Heroes and cyber dragons will always be my fav
Ah, technology and dragons combined together...what more can one ask for?😁😁
Bro i was so in disbelief when i first saw Cyber Repair Plant, a card that SEARCHES. It was the first search card that i saw and a GOOD one. It felt unfair to be digging in my deck when my brother couldnt dig in his.
The "German for number x" bit was wrong. Zwei is two, Drei is Three ect
Herz means Heart, Nächtster means Next and Sieger means Winner in German
Here's some cards you forgot to mention: Cyber Dinosaur, Chimeratech Rampage/Fortress/Megafleet/and Overdragon.
The pseudo reason and end of goat era 🐐 (booster pack marked the end of DM and solidified GX/next Gen)
Due to its effect being the first of many “fast forward” moments in the game
I think cyber dragon should get a Synchro monster and a pendulum monster
“Cyber Dragon Ein, Sechs...
SET THE PENDULUM SCALES!”
Love it! Cyber dragons are the coolest.
Cannot believe there isn't a Synchro Monster yet. There were so many missed opportunities to make the smaller monsters tuners.
A little correction and a free German class:
Eins = 1
Zwei = 2
Drei = 3
Vier = 4
Fünf = 5
Sechs = 6
Sieben = 7
Acht = 8
Neun = 9
Zehn = 10
(Just so you’re prepared for the future cyber dragon cards lol)
This Cyber decks are so OP wtf? every effects can LOOP the Turn
Just to help out TGS here since I know he's getting a lot of flame
Cyber Dragon Herz - Cyber Dragon Heart
Cyber Dragon Nachster - Cyber Dragon Next
Cyber Dragon Zwei - Cyber Dragon 2
Cyber Dragon Drei - Cyber Dragon 3
Cyber Dragon Vier - Cyber Dragon 4
After two decades its still standing strong. No one will ever scoff at the cyber dragons as long as the game stands.
Aka the “GOD DANG IT STOP STEALING MY MONSTER I NEED TO KICK START MY COMBO!” Archetype.
Another fun fact about Cyber Laser and Cyber Barrier is that they are references to power ups from Gradius and Contra, two other Konami games.
I know Gradius is a card... what about Contra?
@@Ramsey276one Gradius was the name of the ship (I guess) so that's why it was easy to make it into a card. Konami did make a few nods to their other brands in yugioh, like Vampire Hunter being a castlevania reference. As for contra... other than some yugioh video games use the famous konami code (up,up,down,down,left,right,left,right,B,A,Start), I don't think any card outright references Contra
@@MontyJojo that’s why I asked. Couldn’t figure any, and I certainly new the others!
XD
I love this deck when u summoned the cyber end dragon with power bond and using limiter HAHAHAHA game over
If ya look at Cyber Dragon Nachster's wings they similar to one of the Sky Striker Spell Cards, quite possible the same scientist that developed the Cyber Dragon line went on to develop Raye's power suits, drones and such.
Good episode TGS Anime
Uff Thanks you!! One the best archetype!!! In duel links ruled and now in MASTER DUEL!!!
You can call me basic or whatever, but cyber dragons where my first cards ever therefore my favourite
"Nachster" is written as "Nächster" in german.
And spoken as "Nexter" (like the english "next" with an "er" at the end)
Also: "Zwei" is the german for Two, not three.
"Drei" is the german for three.
And "Vier" is the german for four.
Maybe I’m just wierd but it feels wierd that Sam made one of these trivia videos with Zero mention of any censorship
...where did he pull the lore of CyDra being a result of a mechanical interpretation of Blue-eyes? Obviously, I see the similarities, but he was speaking like there's lore about this from somewhere.
Nice video!
But how does Cyber Blader fit with the lore?
I love cyber Dragon. It is my favourite deck and my tournament deck
Low-key waiting for even more cyber dragon support after this video-
A nex xyz cyber dragon would be cool, perhaps even a new link boss monster
The beat feeling in the world is when you top deck a kaiju and then use anima to take it away hehehe or even contacting opponent's 50$ link monster that he put so many resources into lmao
