      Anthony James Plus, didn't he tell her straight up at the beginning what the deal was? Sounds like he set expectations and she was down. It's like getting a new job and being pissed that the employer enforced the agreement, then when you asked for you job back they told you to fuck off.

      Dom In The Desert - that's only if what she wrote is to be believed. but yes, if so, she'd be completely complicit in that case. if those expectations were set at the very beginning of the relationship, and you stick around and oblige, then it was consensual. plain and simple.

      How does anyone know that she's not just out for revenge for a broken heart? It's not like it NEVER happens. I believe women should be heard, but not to the extreme end of over correction where words alone can ruin someone completely and no one has to prove anything. Anyone who has a beef against anyone is now empowered to fuck them over completely whether they did anything or not, all you have to do is say it. And it isn't just a women vs. men thing, anybody could use it against anyone. Some of these guys getting shaken from the branches of the perv tree are getting their just desserts, but some of these 'scandals' are just going too far.

      I know of Tig. Strong comic. I understand she had to throw Louis away like she did, but to be sure, he had a good run. He was out there making art for twenty years. And along the way, he, we now know, got completely naked, tugged the rope and bukaki'd that potbelly of his in front of an unwilling comedy duo that sometimes used a guitar.

      It is my hope that sometime in the near- to medium-term we stop following Louie to the store to buy plantains long enough for Louie to, in his own words, his public "apology" being a rushed statement that was destined to be skewered by every Third Wave neoliberal feminist with broadband Internet access, explain exactly what was going through his head when he took off all of his clothes and masturbated to the orgasm in front of two women who were barely known to him. It may very well be the case that he has always felt undeserving of his many accolades and millions of dollars and acting out sexually as he did was closer to masochism than sadism. It may be the case he simply hates women. Some men do. My fear, as always, is that none of us is mature enough to actually have that conversation.

When he came out with the text and the video and the exs saying how great he is the feminist came out saying how dare you come out with things showing your are innocent. Hardwick, but by the guests). Chris was a champion of liberal politics, values, and inclusion. So, to see these people eat one of their own w/o second thought is truly
      something. ...If you get a chance (and can find for that matter) the episode of @Midnight with Nick Offerman it's funny as hell. I watched the extended uncensored
      episode. Nick Offerman (aka Ron Swanson from Parks & Rec) just kills it.

    Also Christina says that the Gen X kids raised the current generation incorrectly by validating their feelings too much, but that's not the problem. It seems that the problem is that they raised them to not put their feelings in to context. If kids are demanding their professors give trigger warnings because it will trigger negative emotions then Gen X has not done a good job of teaching their kids to talk about their feelings; their kids are requesting to not be made to express or think about their feelings. Too much feelings is not the problem, inadequate systems to discuss feelings is.

  • @icklenatzzzzzz
    @icklenatzzzzzz 6 років тому +8

    The word "Triggered" has had its meaning changed, it didn't used to mean to get angry. "Trigger warnings" were meant as warnings to people that suffer from PTSD. Someone who has a trauma triggered sometimes relive a traumatic time in the past. I for example, experienced domestic violence towards my mother when I was a teen, her partner at the time used to bang on the windows and eventually break down the door before brutally beating my mother, now any time a strange man walks outside my apartment windows i get flashbacks and i can even remember the way my mothers ribs sounded when he would hit her. It feels like I'm about to relive the experience all over again. That to me is what triggered really means. It doesn't mean being offended. You can't control how you feel when a trauma has been triggered, you can control whether you are offended.

    Gen X is 1965-1980
    Millennials is 1981-1996
    I feel like us older Millennials want to be Gen Xers because we identify more with that timeframe because we have lived before everyone had the Internet, the younger kids that have always had that access. 💜

      Sha Liz I totally agree. We need our own defined generation of early 1980's kids that didn't grow with the internet. We're not Gen X but we're definitely not Millennials. Maybe 1980-1985. The Last Cold War Kids

      Replying to my own comment because I don't want to spam the comments and I'm responding to each of the points that I think deserve rebuttal in real time. I fully understand the idea of a comic making a joke on whatever the subject matter immediately presented to them is. For example, I'm a fan of Anthony Jeselnik and a native american man and if Jeselnik were to make a joke about smallpox or native american genocide, the thing the would take the most issue with is that it's not as topical as Jeselnik's other material. What I am ready to condemn Hardwick on is his very abusive list of rules for Chloe's behaviour. Even if you take most of Chloe's claims with a grain of salt, Hardwick giving her commands on how to act like she's your pet or property and not her own person is about as abusive as you can get without Chris Browning her in the face. I'll play the middle and say that it wasn't a good idea of her to get involved with someone at work but the fallout from that should be an awkward breakup and having to pretend to still be friends, not flagrant abuse and subsequent blacklisting.

    lol, Tom is trying to blame Trump for the Left's outrage, even tough this shit has been going on wayyy before Trump. Remember the Daniel Tosh rape joke instance in 2012, when all the crazy SJWs and feminists were attacking standup, by saying it's a "boys club", full of "toxic masculinity within rape culture", and that rape jokes were bad, and that you should only "punch up, not down". Or GamerGate in 2014, when the SJWS were doing similar tactics, or all the trans pronouns, etc, etc. I actually think this all started around the Occupy Wallstreet movement, and that was back in 2011(or maybe earlier?). This shit has been going on for years now, and it was way before Trump. I don't know why it's been taking them this long to start connecting the dots? Hell, I think part of the reason why we got Trump, was because of this Leftist nonsense. So if they don't want Conservatives to have "all the power"(which is a silly thing to say), then they need to stop acting so hysterical on every issue. They continue to alienate people to their causes, because they sound like lunatics.

      MitchBandel YES! How did this guy even get a career? He's never said anything remotely funny. And to insult Tig, are you kidding me? He fits the definition of hypocrite more. She made an informed decision after finding out about Louis' unwanted public displays. That's just being a human being. Her show was also awesome and it sucked that it was canceled.

    • @paulc6726
      @paulc6726 6 років тому +5

      He didn't "insult" tig - he called her what she is, a hypocrite and a phony. She built her career off of Louis - someone she called a friend - and the second things went badly for him, she acted as if she didn't know him at all and pissed on him in the media. Only a shitty person would do that. Regardless of how bad or disturbing the things he was accused of doing were - and in comparison to accusations laid on other celebrities, he's the most mild - any real human being or friend would actually take a second out of their life to just contact the person directly and hear the situation from them.
      Is Ari an idiot? He'd even tell you himself that he is. Is he funny? That's debatable, everyone's sense of humor is different - but is he right in this case? Absolutely.

  • @moonlily1

    I actually felt that the sudden and complete erasure of his career was completely unfair, since for one, Chloe Dykstra didn't name who she was talking about, so technically, he wasn't directly accused of anything, so technically, people don't even know who she was talking about. I don't care if people "follow" her or him or not, if you don't know her dating history then you don't know who she's talking about. But I don't even think that being kind of a jerk in your personal life means you deserve to lose your job when you haven't done anything wrong at work. If I was an employer I wouldn't fire someone for being a bad boyfriend. I'd think, well, that's a shame, but it's a personal issue that doesn't have shit to do with his professional life. She didn't say he raped her and he didn't say he beat her up, so as far as work goes...this just doesn't matter.
