I upgraded from a 2011 Sony Vaio 15” to MacBook Pro 14 M3 Pro, and it’s amazing! The display is so good on it and it gives me 12 hours of onscreen time, I keep it between 20-80%, amazing battery backup.

If I just add an SSD and 8 gigs of RAM and downgrade it to Windows 10, I believe it will work just fine for normal use…..although the battery is dead 💀

I have smacked its keyboard like hell but it’s still perfectly fine even the trackpad still tracks perfectly, older laptops were built like a tank. However mine felt like a failed lab experiment, its CPU is 2410m, GPU is 410m, and even with 512mb of graphics it ran Crysis 3, AC 4BF, Far Cry Primal and many more.

For $0.40 you can easily buy enough food to sustain yourself for one meal. 3 meals would cost $1.20 per day. Your rent is negligible. Most people live in slum. So our rent is near 0. Electricity cost is there. Usually we only have one computer and one phone. Cost is usually around $10 / month. Internet is very cheap too. Jio gives unlimited data plan for $10 a month. That's how people survive. We don't buy extra stuff. We only buy the bare minimum. It's not that difficult to survive.

I've done it and been fine before as well but I've also had it destroy the laptop. This is the nature of electronics. Apple hasn't implemented any sort of waterproofing.

I am using MacBook Air M1 since 2022. Love it. Battery Life and Performance is awesome. No laptop comes even closer to it if you calculate the total value vs performance and money. I am a developer and I can say for everyone except gamers and hardcore Windows specific users/developers should go for M1 Air rather than going for a 60k Windows Laptop. Also, I would tell people to try Linux rather than Windows, it's awesome if you are a developer. You can control so much also you will learn bash which will help your command line understanding. Also, KDE Connect + KDE Plasma is as good as iPhone's Air Drop. LOL, I just forgot: You work at Microsoft now. :D

yep, still using my M1 Air for work and personal stuff, turned it off 2 or 3 times in several years during flights, not looking for upgrade at all
