    I'm finding your videos after I took the plunge to upgrade from a 13" M1 Pro to the 14" but happy to see it's worked well for you and many others. It definitely looks a lot less sleek in comparison from various angles, but the screen is a great improvement and I'm looking forward to taking advantage of the additional power once I start docking it.

    Still loving my 16in MacBook Pro. I went to see it in the store and thought the 14in was too small. It might be because I was used to working on my desktop with large monitors so I felt I would miss the screen real estate when working on the laptop. I think if you can carry it with you in a backpack, it'll feel really good when you sit somewhere and get to work.

      @@gurugamer8632 honestly don't get the "too big and heavy" argument for the 16in. Personally all through my college life and even at work I've been using 16in gaming laptops like the dell g5 and MSI laptops. Only recently moved to a MacBook and it's a breath of fresh air. Even some of the 15in laptops I've used in the past are bigger than it. Despite being 16in, it is definitely one of the sleekest if not the most sleek 16in laptops around. Sure it does weigh quite a bit in comparison to other macbooks but it's nothing compared to other laptops of a similar range in the market. I actually originally wanted to get the 14in, but due to lack of availability I ended up getting the 16in at a discount.

    Finally somebody makes a complete review of the ARM architecture machines for programmers (which I had to learn the hard way after getting one). It's quite a struggle to make work your usual dev environment depending on what you program and if you have to virtualize a lot with Docker, which was my case. I had to return my M1 and get a Dell XPS instead. Love your videos as usual💪

      What mbp m1 pro configuration you have? Is it 16 GB one? I am a backend engineer (but sometime need to run frontend to test the application locally). And the dependencies are docker (db, grafana, Prometheus). Wondering if 16 GB is sufficient enough? I am considering to buy mbp m1 pro 16 GB for portability (work from anywhere use case). @@AgungPratama yes I’m using the 16GB m1 pro, I believe it should be enough for you to run your containers without issues, i run close to 3 microservices on my docker and at least one service contains postgress, rabbitmq, and the server itself, and most contains more than that. I’ve never had a down time except when I’m updating and it needs to restart. So it should be fine for your images or containers

    I"m dreaming about 16 inches, I mostly use Elixir / Phoenix and docker, I also enjoy doing mobile apps, Maybe I should reconsider to take 14 inch Mac pro instead of 16.

    So i was looking at a mac 14” M3 max with 1tb drive and 36gb ram or a 16” of those same specs. So from your video you say that a 14” working remotely like at coffee shops on a 14” screen is fine to work on? I love the portability of 14” but the screen size of 16”. Your thoughts?

    So do u recommend it for a computer engineering student or the macbook air m2 (with 16gb of ram and 512gb SSD) is also good?

    • @arunk2710
      @arunk2710 Рік тому

      M2 MacBook Air is good. But it gets hot on heavy usage.
      Go with M1 Pro MBP if you can afford it. 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD or more if you want.
      The 16 inch model has more battery life.
      For programming bigger screens are better most of the time.
      If 14 inches is enough for you, go for it.

      @@MrMegamsquare I was really trying not to use it, but I think I ll have to. Till now I was using php but I really want to learn flutter due to its flexibility, and I also heard that Google is working on the new operating system using it. But the fact that I have to instal many new things makes it harder 😅

    as a swe, i work on my 13.3' macbook pro. loll I'm getting a 14 inch one soon, I guess 14 inch is def pretty good. It's better for the eyes loll haha
    16 inch seems just way too bulky and big. Not really necessary, but it makes sense if you don't carry it around. I do carry my pc all the time, so 14 is a pretty good size.

    Hi there, I recently bought a 14" M1 Pro Macbook pro with Mac OS Ventura pre installed along with 4tb internal ssd. I like it so far, but here are some of the things I have noticed and do not like it about it. First, the battery drains quick. and the second issue I have is whenever I want to to use an external hard drive and formatted in exfat or in ms-dos(fat) the macbook wants to run slow. and it's not with one particular external hard drive, it's with any other external hard drive formatted in exfat or ms-dos (fat). But if the external hard drive was formatted in APFS format then ist runs smoothly and quick. why is that? why in exfat or in ms-dos(fat) it runs slow?
