I’m less bothered by the rule but by the inconsistency of the application. You can find, pretty easy, pieces (from the same competition) that qualifies with more/the same amount of skin exposed. Kinda like UA-cam moderation system.😂
Maybe this is just me but I found the art to be very tasteful? Sure ginormous cleavage but it doesn't deter from the focus of the piece, it really just makes it seem like big breasts=suggestive which is so icky 😭
It's weirddddd.. In my opinion, the original didn't scream "suggestive". While yes, maybe the chest area should've been little bit more covered.. but that's all. Some of the ones in bikini's are super suggestive.. Kinda in what they were wearing and the poses they had? I hope you get what I mean because I'm not typing more.
You don't need too. i've seen SO MUCH sugg3stive artwork being made for such contests, osu related or not. Yes, the chest should've been more covered because there are some 13> users on osu, but the creator did infact make a more covered version which is completely fine by me.
Keep in mind, peppy isn't really part of the community, he is just a (relatively) old man who developed a game that took off and still wants to keep control. I feel like trying to ban 'suggestive' content all together doesnt work, but just having backgrounds disabled by default would be fine, or at least make it a major option in setup so that people who dont want to see them dont have to. Maps and backgrounds need more granularity in age rating, because there are plenty of songs and backgrounds that should be labeled as explicit, that are not (and plenty of "seasonal" backgrounds that are ecchi, but still allowed)

Trying to retroactively label every single map ever uploaded would not work, so having it as a rule for unranked maps makes no sense.
@@848 I won’t say that every unranked map has to be reviewed, but backgrounds that are even MILDLY lewd like shown in the video, should be allowed in ranked maps as well. There’s so much untouched potential on so many maps, and just having categories like 15+ for gore, EXPLICIT for ecchi and lewd (even though we already have that) and etc would already be revolutionary. And again, if mapmakers want their maps to be ranked, then they have to choose the appropriate age rating for it. So that it promotes map-makers to choose what age-rating they want their maps to be in, and moderators won’t have much work if they just have to review hyped maps. I’d say it’s just another added criteria to having your map ranked.
Also 15+ and 18+ could have disclaimers and map makers could appeal for unban. I don’t know if this criteria was already added, I came up with this in the middle of the night, give me some sleep.

Also I think that the point people are trying to make about the skin exposure in the summer artworks is ridiculous and hypocritical as it wasn't sexual areas. I mean so you think that a guy in swim short would be indecent because he is 75% revealing his skin while a dude showing only his cock would be ok because he is revealing less skin ? or maybe the ENTIRE skin of woman is considered sexual which underline the question : "have you ever been outside ?" . Anyway I am talking about how for me summer artwork can be alright but I am totally agreeing that some are indecent and the indecent ones should be removed like the chika chika one.
Using a man's cock is the worst comparison you could have made cuz showing genitals in general is nsfw. Even if they're wearing swimsuits and their parts are covered, they are still very much exposed and anime boobs are proportionally exaggerated + they weren't like a one-piece swimsuit, they were tiny.
