I hope that the end game isn't the end of Snyder in batman. He and Capullo are doing a amazing job together. Peter Thomas and Patrick Gleason too. Long life for these two teams

    • @lamdaddy20

Tomasi's leaving Batman and Robin, and Gleason's taking up double duty as writer and artist for Batman and Robin.

The thing I love about Snyder is that he consistently creates new characters. Most writers today just think, "Oh, well these are the characters I have; Might as well see what I can do with them." Good on him.

how the hell is TDK badly written?

    • @jafa914
      @jafa914 9 років тому +2

DarkKnight2037 for multiple reasons. The love triangle between Rachael, Bruce and Harvey felt more Spider-Man than Batman. The fact that Lucius goes to China and Batman just shows up that night. Heath ledger did a good job with what he had to work with, but Nolan basically made the joker a psycho with face paint which is diluting the character. The jokes weren't even funny. The joker is supposed to be funny. The fight scenes were bad. The whole dent storyline was unneeded. Its almost like he copy and pasted a joker story with the Batman/Gordon/ Dent parts from The Long Halloween (which should be done in either live action or animation, great story). The only great part was Alfred. Plus the guy who kept trying to blackmail Bruce and Lucius was annoying and unnecessary. We got the point that they want to know who batman is, but there was so much going on that it could've been left out. Nolan has said that he didn't read comics and only started doing research when he became director. Honestly they have made a great live action version of Batman yet. Batman Returns would be, but Mask of the Phantasm is the best Batman film.

      Of course he's not.
Court of Owls really was great.I loved how he create a new awesome element for "Batman mitology".
But he Joker is one of the worst(some people like it and i understand but if he turn Joker imortal he will destroy The Joker character).
He have other good stories with Batman too.
Clayface story was good. But Gregg Hurwitz Clayface story is better.
And Snyder have bad stories too.
Death of the family isn't horrible. But it's not good.
End game is the same thing(a little better).
The best Batman writer is Jeph Loeb(maybe Frank Miller).
      Snyder maybe is top 10.Maybe...

Antonio Terra Parreiras I haven't read Dark Victory, but I own, have read, and really like Long Halloween and Hush. They are both excellent additions to the Dark Knight's mythos. And like I said, your confusion is completely understandable. Long Halloween really does seem like it's supposed to be the sequel to Year One, which is why it's clear that those two books are pretty specifically the direct inspirations for Chris Nolan's first two Dark Knight movies.

Snyder bit off more than he could chew with Endgame.
this story started really good but has been getting worse and worse.
between Snyder's over-explaining everything to the bombardment of history lessons and lengthy character dialog, the comic is more tedious to read than fun!
he also keeps going for cheap shocks almost every issue to the point of desensitizing, where it doesn't have an impact anymore.
i originally though i wanted him to always stay writing this comic series, now i kind of can't wait for him to leave.

Why is it that everyone can get an upgrade, but Batman -its past time! I know that some of us want to keep him as is either out of nostalgia, or fear that he might become alienated to his fans; I strongly disagree. Bats is being forced to fall further behind other villains and heroes due to useless sentimentalism; he's not your Father's Batman anymore. He's Nolan's Batman and Nolan's Batman would view Iron Man's Extremis armor as another incredible tool to have in his possession. Batman/Bruce Wayne belongs to the age of trans-humanism and cybernetic implants. In fact, people like Bruce are now beginning to place microchips underneath their skins and advocate for both genetic and cybernetic enhancements (see www.ibtimes.com/cancer-fighting-robot-korean-scientists-develop-nanorobots-are-more-efficient-chemotherapy-video).
What fans seem to conveniently forget is that Bruce/Bat's does not go quietly, serenely into that good night, he fights like Hell against it -- that's what keeps him alive; his ability to challenge not death, but the agents of death: The Joker, Ras Al Guhl Death Stroke, Darksied. Ordinary human beings are already placing microchips underneath their skins (see www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/technology/office-workers-have-rfid-computer-chips-implanted-under-their-skin-to-use-instead-of-id-cards-30950819.html) How is he going to remain Batman in a world where everyone has become an enhanced human being capable of the same feats that he's presently capable of. He couldn't and he wouldn't. Remember the thing that we love most about Bats is that the Bat is always one step ahead. So wouldn't allowing Bat's to create and utilize a superior form of nano tech be in keeping with his staying alive strategy.
You guys won't even allow him a better badder Batsuit because your caught up in sentimentality. Yet you go gaa, gaa over his belt like it holds the answer to all his problems. Stop being focused on the belt and start being focused on the man, his enemies and his allies. The truth is for those of us that are living in both the real and DC world, we know that Bat couldn't possibly walk away from encounters against guys like Darksied, Superman or Tony Stark; like any of these guys are going to give Bat's two weeks of prep time to defeat them -- get real. Its time to let Batman transition into the 22 century like the rest of us and stop holding him back out of some infantile desire for yesterday.
That being said this is my list of upgrades for Bat's that would still keep him in character and require him to still build a diverse array of gadgets: his own Lazarus pit. Imagine a Bat mobile that can become a regeneration chamber and who's liquid content protects Batman like an womb protects an unborn child; In-built nanotech to enhance all physical abilities including his brain's processing speed, and provide on the spot body armor; up link communications capabilities an example would be Nolan's "The Dark Knight"; cellular regeneration and identity theft or creation also made possible through nanotech. These things wouldn't destroy his identity, but enhance it. In fact because he is so tech savvy the type of nanotech that Iron Man created in Marvel's Extremis comic would be right up his alley. It would also lay the foundation for Batman 1,000,000 a classic alternative Batman comic created in the 70's. Plus it can't be denied that his constant encounters with aliens and the supernatural would put that type of technology right up his alley. Look when you guys gave Supes a new superpower everybody was on board with that. Why not get on board with this. Give Bats his own form of Extremis armor and a Lazarus pit. Stop thinking that his belt makes him the equal of gods it doesn't.

I don't tend to have favourite writers, but I quite like a lot of the post-crisis stuff generally, since it got the camp/serious thing really right, and the current Buccellato/Manapul run in Detective Comics is nice now. Morrison is more fun than Snyder when he goes balls-to-the-wall, but he's better when he's doing his own stuff or teamups or whatever.
