Only thing I missed was the Akrid mode like the games before that was so much fun.
Lost Planet 1 was fascinating Lost Planet 2 had an excellent co-op mode Lost Planet 3 had a very strong campaign It would be good that Capcom realizes a sequel with the engine of the last Monster Hunter
MH World Engine is still the MT Framework lol. If anything, they would do the game on the RE Engine (which seems to be their new tech for the future). But i think the engine is very irrelevant (atleast to us).

Yes, one of the best demo plays ever. Even if the mission was the same, playing it in different approaches was tons of fun. Fell in love with LP2 after this demo, bought it at a swapmeet as soon as I saw it.
I remember so well playing lost planet 2 for 10 hours straight completing the story twice, and doing so god knows how many times. Now in 2019 i dont have my ps3 anymore but found out it is on steam so just for the nostalgia im getting it on there even tho its not the same as ps3
It's a pain in the ass to get it to run (blame Games for Windows Live) and it may not run on the newer, higher core Amd cpu's, but it's a blast. I gave up after two weeks of not working on my new Ryzen 2700X with all the fix suggestions. I ended up buying some cheap ps3 controllers off Amazon and I just enjoy it there. I logged 230 hours on the Steam version, not hardcore, and I still love the game.
and thats exactly why it undersold. when i saw the trailer and gameplay for 3 i knew i wouldnt bother wasting my time with that shit. if i wanted an americanized game, i'll buy an american game, not some twisted version of a game i use to love.
I'd just like to say the original Lost Planet had some of the first and best motion blur effects around. Those rollie pollies looked amazing. In fact it's remarkable how good the motion blur looks in that it's still better than most games today.
Lost Planet 2 is still my favorite co-op shooter experience to this day. The game had crazy over the top things you could do with your teammates and you were even encouraged to do them if you knew about them. Lost Planet also has some of the best grappling hook action in gaming with the plethora of ways it can be applied to your surroundings.
"Too Japanese and not American enough" Bull fucking shit. Lost Planet 2 was a fucking amazing game. "American" or not. They did the best they could do with what they had.
I only play lost planet 2 and 3 on the 360 and it was super fun as hell the second one going out and blasting giant Akrid and whatnot. Lost Planet 3 is my personal favorite in terms of its narrative and more story driven aspect and hell I actually like the main dude in LP3 for some reason.
Such unique games. The scale, animation and behaviour of the enemies... the character’s movement... the amazing effects like the explosion ones (still amazing today).. the immersion.. such a shame more games didn’t took this ideas and developed them further.
I would love a remake/remaster of these games. I was totally in love with the first, but never played the second. I picked up the third on PC a few years after it released and even that was a lot of fun
1) It doesn't need a remake. Why remake games that are already good? It's a complete waste of time and money. 2) It doesn't need a remaster either. It's on PC so it's the definitive way to play.
Amadeus Eisenberg I bought it less than two years after release and have played a ton of co op. I just missed the chance to enjoy the multiplayer with others.
There was another game at some point in development that got cancelled. I think one picture of one of the akrid assets a modeler made exists, but the rest of the info was whispers from a former capcom employee. I think it was between 1 and 2, its been a while Other than that, Capcom partnered up to make a pachislot machine in 2016 of lost planet 2. Very interesting choice 3 years after 3 to not only make one of the series, but choosing 2 specifically. Hopefully they haven't given up entirely..
I loved the first and the third. As much hate as 3rd gets, I really liked the 'interplanetary pioneers' vibe. At its best it really painted a picture of a mining colony in the freezing arse of the universe. The story sadly stumbles towards the end, but I appreciate the atmosphere. It was very different from what I expected, but in a good way. Never played part two, since it was so reliant on co-op and I'm a single-player-only guy. After RE5 I wasn't keen to play a game like this with 'Capcom AI buddy'.
@John Johnson Thanks for the heads up, I think I'll give LP2 a spin if I come across a copy. Sad, really; though I liked Sheva as a character, her AI made me avoid Capcom co-op titles for several years.
I have only played LP 1, but it seems to me that they could never pin down what the series wanted to be. From a monster hunter with guns style to the story driven generic shooter. It's a shame because it was a series i was always interested in but never really one that grabbed me like so many titles from the past gen. Would be nice to see Capcom take another run at the series though.

Well not literally anything, but who will actually do anything over a product?, but I’d happily pay more for the cause along with whatever I can do within reason if the game did show promise. Obviously I wouldn’t straight up marry someone or climb Mount Everest or something extreme but it’s definitely pay a few hundred, have a one night stand or remove someone from the picture for it (For legal reasons the last one was a joke)
Ryaquaza 1 check out G police thats the game I feel so much love for.
Yeah, Lost Planet 3, Dead Rising 4(3 was good enough), and DmC... these sequels of beloved franchises developed by western studios were total messes.
Why so they fuck it up like they did with resident evil.
Lost planet is a game I find myself going back to every few years. A gem that deserves to be remastered.
We need to Spam Capcom for it like valve and half life 3.
Man I miss lost planet 1&2!
excellent documentary as always from GVMERS.
I remember the demo for lost planet 2 being out for sooo long played that over and over with my brothers. Then the game finally came out and I had so much fun. Unlocking all weapons and then even after months finding out new things, like the support weapon that could be formed into a giant fireball, sword or laserbeam or the special maps that had the VVs with the Nuke on it. Only thing I missed was the Akrid mode like the games before that was so much fun.
lost planet 2 was such a good game! so many memories of being out of high school and having my friend over to play coop
My childhood games disappearing before my Eyes...
"SOCOM US NAVY SEALS''
"DEAD RISING"
"Medal of Honor"
"LOST PLANET"
"Operation Flashpoint"
I've played all of these games except the last one.
Medal of Honor definitely being the biggest loss. Without it, Call of Duty would’ve never happened.
I really wouldnt mind a new Socom game. I loved playing that. Hell even a new medal of honor would be welcomed
@@TrigoNomentry agree with you like hell man.
Islander Kuei for me was dead space franchise,resistance 1 2 3,battlefield 3 cod mw 2 lost planet 2 gta 4 and 5
wow, the day this was released, Lost planet went on sale for 80%
Still own my day one copy of Lost Planet with the ptx 140 pre order figure : D still really like the game.
Nice, I had that as well. The artbook was very nice
Lost Planet 1 was fascinating
Lost Planet 2 had an excellent co-op mode
Lost Planet 3 had a very strong campaign
It would be good that Capcom realizes a sequel with the engine of the last Monster Hunter
yeah i would love a sequel with that engine
Couldn't agree more on you pointing out each games strength.
The monster Hunter game is still on the same engine as Lost Planet 1.
I definitely prefer 1 over 3
MH World Engine is still the MT Framework lol. If anything, they would do the game on the RE Engine (which seems to be their new tech for the future). But i think the engine is very irrelevant (atleast to us).
Your voice makes me feel like I’m about to embark on a historical learning adventure
Just so everyone could know, A game called Broken Horizon, is being hinted as being the next "Lost Planet", but is going to be more VS based but still 4 players.
Тhanks so much for this!
I remember playing this as a kid 10y ago with my friend.
Cheers from Serbia, keep it up.
Ceviz fr! I was 10 too lolcouldnt get passed the third mission
Djesi
The rise and fall of... Dino crisis
Yes, please!!!
Dino Crisis and DIno Crisis 2 are amazing. I don't know what the hell happened with 3. Why would you end 2 on that cliff hanger and not pay it off?
@@FestArc
The amount of games that do this is numerous to count lol.
Now THAT needs a reboot
@@ChAn-dv9to
Very much so.
To this day, when Japanese devs try to make "western style" games, the control schemes are horribly convoluted.
THOSE
FUCKING
CONTROL
SCHEMES
LP3 was best product of the series, but to complex for typical Capcom customer.
@@p0k314COM lp3 was the most dumbed down and most plain old gears of War esque shooter.
@@IEEEE50 »ye, right, LP1 and LP2 - as typical brainless button mashing simulations - are more complex then based on story LP3.
Metal gear?
LP 1 online, was one of the best versus ever !
It’s Jane Douglas from OutsideXbox interviewing that guy! Sweet
Yessss she is my wifeeeee
This is the closest I have ever seen as a formal series to All Your History Are Belong To Us, I love you GVMERS
I love your work guys, keep it up!
Xbox didn't forget lost planet 2 seeing as they put it backwards compatible for Xbox one and i play it as much as possible regrinding out levels for all the amazing rewards and all the great story elements say what you will about lost planet 2's story i loved it and it resonates with me still and i personally want to know what happens after lost planet 2.
Lost Planet 2 was dope. The giant monsters was key.
I STILL love playing the campaign of LP1 to this day! Trying to beat it on extreme over and over never gets old to me.
Both Lost Planet 2 and 3 are on sale now on steam till 04-29, perfect timing!
Capcom we need new Lost Planet and Dino Crisis games.
🤣🤣🤣 like that will ever happen
@@colinmx. never say never.
Last DMC game was 10 years ago and yet they make another.
I don't really think they want to waste their IP.
@@aikawacoleman6508 if u say so
Capcom's seen it all & done it all; slaughtered zombies in Resident Evil & Dead Rising, demons in Onimusha & Devil May Cry, machines in Mega Man, aliens in Lost Planet, and a whole bunch of other shit in Dragon's Dogma. Capcom's a true warrior! Lol But really tho, I want another Lost Planet!
2:08 who else remembers fighting that thing over and over in the demo?
Not the demo, but full game, Holy crap I am getting a tsunami of memories just looking at that...
Finally someone talking about lost planet, seriously need good sequel like lost planet 2~
Did capcom give up on this IP already???
Some of the best multiplayer Ive ever played, I miss it
I love Lost Planet 3 because of the immersion when you get into the mecha. You really feel like you are riding it.
I agree and the story itself was more narrative driven and personal.
and thats exactly why it undersold. when i saw the trailer and gameplay for 3 i knew i wouldnt bother wasting my time with that shit. if i wanted an americanized game, i'll buy an american game, not some twisted version of a game i use to love.
Lost Planet 2 was amazing!! I want to see an HD Remastered version, with a bit more polish it could be a legendary game.
I'd just like to say the original Lost Planet had some of the first and best motion blur effects around. Those rollie pollies looked amazing. In fact it's remarkable how good the motion blur looks in that it's still better than most games today.
This is one of those games you’d split screen with your big bro till its bed time
But it felt like i was playing it yesterday...
Lost planet 1 and 2 were among my favorites on Xbox 360
I remember getting the first one bundled with my 360 and loving the shit out of it. Very underrated in my opinion!
Lost planet 2 is one of my all time favorites. Played it with my older brother countless times
Please make a rise and fall of army of two pretty please
Yeah that game was epic
That game series had a rise? I recall it being pretty obscure.
@@feartheoldblood of course they're awesome
The Devil's Cartel butchered it
The two first game where awesome^^
"Too Japanese and not American enough"
Bull fucking shit. Lost Planet 2 was a fucking amazing game. "American" or not. They did the best they could do with what they had.
LP2 Is The Best Game In The Whole Franchise.
Yeah I definitely disagreed with that statement. Glad the team went the direction they did.
I only play lost planet 2 and 3 on the 360 and it was super fun as hell the second one going out and blasting giant Akrid and whatnot. Lost Planet 3 is my personal favorite in terms of its narrative and more story driven aspect and hell I actually like the main dude in LP3 for some reason.
ah yes, Spark ruins the franchise like it arguably happened with DmC, and Capcom goes "It's so sad that people don't like Lost Planet"
Such unique games. The scale, animation and behaviour of the enemies... the character’s movement... the amazing effects like the explosion ones (still amazing today).. the immersion.. such a shame more games didn’t took this ideas and developed them further.
Love this series. Would love to see one on Red Faction, Dead Rising, Ninja Gaiden, and Soul Reaver series
Lost planet died when they gutted co-op my interest went from 100 - 0 the moment I learned they did that
i don't care
@@user-73a yes you do
I would love a remake/remaster of these games.
I love EX Troopers on PS3. LP1-2 were really fun
that MP demo was the best thing on 360 for years man
Before I'll watch this OMG why I haven't thought about it myself.
Thank you so much for making this video.
the 2nd game is literally my favorite game of all time, thanks for making this video and keep up the good work
I wish I had bought the game on release for how much I loved co-op. But best 10 bucks ever spent regardless
I think it was between 1 and 2, its been a while
Other than that, Capcom partnered up to make a pachislot machine in 2016 of lost planet 2. Very interesting choice 3 years after 3 to not only make one of the series, but choosing 2 specifically. Hopefully they haven't given up entirely..
with the recent success of Devil May Cry, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter..i hope capcom can revisit this game again
Lost Planet 2 was something else man, no game will come close to just how good it felt to play.
Man I played that game sooooo much I had everything in the game yet still loved playing it with friends
The Rise And Fall Of Tenchu
Hell yeah!
Lp 2 is the best in the series, you have to try it out
@GVMERS Thank you so much for this video. Lost Planet 1 is one my favorite games, and taking special place in my heart. Setting and story and especially music when I hear it always make's me crying. I hope that in future we will get Lost Planet 4 and to be sequel to LP2 and to be like LP1 and LP2.
Lost planet 2 stays on my top ten. Such a misunderstood game.
When this video revives LP2 on pc.
*this is beyond science*
I really enjoyed lost planet 1 on the xbox 360 which i thought was really good
The soundtrack of this game is really nostalgic
Lost planet 2 has a special place in my heart, it was just too good of a experience
All i know is that i was like 12 when this shit dropped and i went to town with it. Single player and multiplayer time and time again. This was my jam but none of my buddies even knew what it was.
Same. I didn’t know about the cross play though.
