Believe it or not cillian Murphy made history the first Irish born actor to win best actor Oscar
I believe it and he deserved it. It was a great movie
Yeah well prob the first one to not play a leprechaun
Somewhere I hope Richard Harris is pouring himself a large whiskey. If it wasn't him, I'm thrilled it was Cillian.
@@qbanz00very few irish actors have played leprachauns
@@qbanz00actually wait, name one
I’m shocked. I’m actually shocked. A actor I know and like actually won an Oscar. And a movie I’ve seen won best picture. Crazy
What a wonderfully articulate and thoughtful question from the Nigerian journalist! --- "Your career thus far is chapter and verse when it comes to variety and range but let's say in the fullness of time if people remember you, commemorate you or even choose to define you by Oppenheimer, would you be content with that?"
"I'm not a traitor to my class. I'm just an extreme example of what a working man can achieve."
Oppenheimer and Peaky Blinders he was outstanding in both. Congratulations!
Sleepingheimer was boring AF 😴😴😴😴 , Don't @ me
@@anthonybenitez1418not everyone is into films like this. Some like you prefer Barbie. That’s ok.
My favorite movie of his is "The Wind That Shakes the Barley."
@@janetclaireSaysgreat movie. Peacock and Breakfast on Pluto are also brilliant films.
@@CaliDraco
Oppenheimer was boring. And Barbie was absolutely atrocious. "Past Lives" was 10 times better than both these 2 films. Overrated mainstream trash
28 YEARS LATER
Well played, sir
😳😮
@@Blaxdon i think it’s in production .. saw a little thing about it
Very well deserved phenomenal actor.
He is always so down to earth and humble. A real man of character and a real artist.
I love everything the RTÉ news man said because it’s so true - Ireland is so delighted for you, Cillian!!! So well deserved and we are so proud of you!! Comhghairdeas 🇮🇪❤️
As as an Irish person and people we always knew this was going to happen. This has been coming for the past twenty years he just needed the right director and he found one in Christopher Nolan. Who is one of cinema's great technical directors. I have seen nearly all of Nolans work. But lost interest after interstellar, inception and I tried to follow tenet. Dunkirk was just saving private ryan on a boat. Dark Knight rises was an awful film for all sorts of reasons.mostly storytelling Dark Knight was the best comic book film he ever did.
Maith thú, Cillian! You've made Cork and Ireland proud, and not for the first, nor the last time. ☘👏
A fine Irish gentleman with grace and talent. He would be a great leader - my observation tells me this Irish gentleman has character. Yes, be proud - another of ireland's finest. Slainte
USA
“Look at the camera” and he looked everywhere but, he is so endearing ❤
But he learned Dutch and to talk about quantum physics! Love this man.
Congratulations Cillian Murphy. He absolutely gave the performance of a lifetime in Oppenheimer, owned the role and every scene he was in. Well deserved best actor win.
Hell yeah!!! My Irish brother congratulations!!! 🇮🇪💚
Wow you’re definitely related
Bas no ahn Bua!!!!!!!
I love Cillian. Loved him in Peaky Blinders. Happy for him. Very talented.
Peaky Blinders, amazing in that role too. Bravo!
Long time coming and well deserved. Have been a huge fan of his since 28 Days Later.
I've followed his career since 28 Days Later and knew this day would come for him. He is so talented and so humble and I'm so proud to be Irish!
From Scarecrow to Tommy Shelby to Oppenheimer! 👍🏽
Brilliant!!!!!!.......well deserved.......love him, love his dedication.......and over all very humble human been. ❤❤
I’m very proud to be half Irish ☘️
Cillian has been putting on some of the best performances well deserved!!
From the outside looking in - none of us truly know how actors behave behind closed doors when cameras are not on them. However - I can’t think of another celebrity who seems so genuine and thoughtful then Mr. Cillian Murphy. Well done, sir. And congratulations.
He’s a gift!
I feel happy for Cillian, just like I did when LeoNardo DiCaprio won
Ireland is very proud of you 🇮🇪
He deserves. Be sure to watch The Wind that Shakes the Barley. Excellent.
Thanks for this, its on UA-cam
Agree! I discovered Cillian in "28 days later", then "Red Eye", but "The wind that shakes the barley" was "wow! this guy has IT" What a great, intense, moving film. I still rewatch it from time to time. And this morning I woke up with the wonderful news that his talent has been recognized globally, at last. Congratulations, Cillian!!!!
The first and only time I heard "the wind that shakes the barley" was when my very elderly dad said this. Now I am going to check this out. Congratulations Ireland for sharing your great talent. You ought to be so proud. Slainte.
USA
You might wanna try the movie michael collins, very similar vibe to the wind that shakes the barley..@@margaretohara7250
He promotes WEF agenda 2030. On his badge that he is wearing there. Proud to be Irish? Saying all the right things. It’s called ACTING you mug.
So happy for you!!!
Congratulations and blessings galore. You make Ireland proud. Love how grounded you are - so humble.. Slainte
USA and Ireland
Wow, I didn't know he was Irish. Also, he comes across as such a warm and gentle person here. Congratulations to an amazing actor!
Here? When have you EVER seen him be anything but a warm and gentle man☘️
So where did you think he is from with a name like Cillian Murphy?
@@murpho999 Sweden🤣🤣☘️
The score was overwhelming
Every performance I have seen Cillian in has always been outstanding.
congrats cillian you deserved it
Yet another class act from the Irish ☘
Some excellent questions. And answers.
Proud to be part Irish 🇮🇪
Well deserved!!!
So am I ..we are a nice bunch ..happy for Cillian
A very humble and very deserving actor! ❤
One of the modern greats! Congratulations to this lad 👏
Congratulations!
Ooooh wow!!!...firt Irishman to get best actor Oscar 🎉🎉🎉❤
Congratulations Cillain!!
I love this guy's pronunciation! And he's so talented!!!
Well deserved 👏
Well deserved! I love his Netflix, Peaky Blinders! I feel and imagine him he is Thomas Shelby.
He did it!!!!
I'm proud of you too son 🇮🇪
My guy❤ I grew up watching his movies…Sunshine…Red Eye…Wind that shakes the barley, The Edge of love …and of course Peaky Blinders… I’m so glad he is finally getting his dues…he was and is so brilliant and captivating❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oscar winner! Deserves all the praise!
I know he’s proud to see him coming from being an extra to winning an Oscar that’s a big jump
The first thing I ever saw him in was Batman. Then Inception. And then “The Wind That Shakes the Barley” which was awesome and unique.
I like him as an actor.
I’m beyond thrilled that he won an Oscar. His performance in Oppenheimer was outstanding. 🎉 ❤
Love him ❤
I’m also very proud to be mostly Irish myself 🇮🇪☘️
What a treat! 💞🏆💋❤️🔥 Congratulations 🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉
Okay watched it.
This movie was amazing!!
One of the best I have seen in years.
Especially was engrossed in the end when they show that their test worked.
But I was in so much suspense at the end of the movie.
Must have been a challenge to make.
Yes! ☘️
First saw him in 28 Days Later. Enjoyed his art since. 🎊
Going to catch this movie tomorrow.
He seems shy in person which surprises me.
But congrats to you!!!
It was probably an overwhelming moment for him. Or maybe he didn’t like being put on the spot? He seemed very thankful but definitely was a bit reclusive. Probably didn’t know how to feel yk? Such a big moment.
He has called acting a "shy man's revenge" (jokingly) and some of his coworkers have described him as shy as well :)
I only have 10 percent irish, but i love the culture, congratulations to one of my favorites of all time!!!
There’s nothing like an awesome family man.
Proud of Cillian, he is very well liked and rightly so.
The man is not only a great actor but extremely skillful at being Irish! 😉
Well done, big congrats!
(chill out, that was a George Carlin reference).
Es tan hermoso estar orgulloso del lugar del que naciste! Creo que eso lo hace un hombre increíble humilde y con un talento increíble. Estoy feliz de que haya ganado 😊
Well done
I’m thrilled for him! I loved him in Peaky Blinders never saw Oppenheimer (sp?)
Well Done!
By order of Peaky Blinder❤
Cillian congratulations 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Congrats
💕❤💕. Cillian.
I loved that he spoke Irish! Go raibh maith agat, a Chillian!
Love❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hes a badass. I thought he was more maynard james keenan/daniel day lewis than this, but ill still follow his work
28 days Later,Cillian Murphy
What is the pin in Cillians suit does anyone know...❤
I like his humility. But it was not a complete surprise b/c he pretty much has been the front runner all year ever since it came out. It was a complete performance and he gave an Oscar winning performance.
Not only is Cillian Irish....he's from the rebel county of Cork. You can't get more Irish than that.
I love that he always looks so ready to go home. Where the first guy asks for him to show emotion Cillian be like "nah"
I love it. Well deserved!
He needs to be the next James Bond ……
Yes get on in there congratulations and congrats well done well deserved ❤😂🎉😢😮😅
Based 💚
1:58 whos jillian?
And now a sequel to 28 Days with Naomi Harris.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome the new james bond.
❤
For me his career was the wind that shakes the barley
It told a story that nobody want to here
Long live ireland x
Michael Collins is a great film, Liam Neeson shines..
@@md4933Also “Hunger” with Michael Fassbender - he portrays Bobby Sands, the first Volunteer in the IRA to die during the 1981 Hunger Strikes. You should also watch H3 - it’s REAL - it was written by Volunteer Laurence McKeown, who actually took part in the prison protests and went on hunger strike
MY DAWG!
Me too
😍😍😍😍
1:23 people would define him by peaky blinders. He was amazing oppenheimer, but some of his performances in peaky is untouchable
Tommy Shelby, OBE, Oscar winner
He's irish not English he wouldn't accept an obe from the British
Peakyblinders!
OGs remember him from Tron: Legacy
OGs remember him from 28 days later or even Disco Pigs.
3:40
🍀 🍀 🍀
Never heard of him
someone on twitter said he looks like he just lost his parents at the grocery store 😭
About time dornan nextto get emmy
