  • In this concluding video of this PATEK PHILIPPE series, I take a close look at the unique design of this pocket watch.
If you're curious about this PATEK PHILIPPE watch, then watch this video now! I'll give you our verdict on whether or not this pocket watch is perfect for you. Good luck in your search for the perfect pocket watch!
    About the watch:
Today I want to present to you a very nice PATEK PHILIPPE POCKET WATCH IN 18 KARATS SOLID GOLD - 22 Lines 56mm - 131.20 grams.
The watch looks like just left the Factory.
THIS IS ONE TIME POCKET WATCH IN ULTIMATE CONDITION
One of the most interesting things about this watch is that three of the mechanism wheels are made of gold - the center wheel, third and fourth wheels are made of gold.
It is really hard to find that solid gold Patek Philippe 18k in that stunning condition, I present to you one very interesting example of a brand P. Philippe, probably the most famous and expensive brand in the world, impressive dial, and the case is in mirror-clean condition, we can date this watch with very good precision, the watch is made in year 1908, which means that the watch is nearly 114 years old and it is still in very good working condition, just has been serviced by the professional watchmaker and work very accurate. In full winding, the watch works for about 32 - 33 hours.
This watch was winded up over 15 times and it works until the completion of the entire course of the mainspring, so I can confirm that the watch runs very precisely and showed no defects.
This watch looks and works very well, I think that every collector would love to own it, or can be a very good present.
Now I will divide this watch into categories.
    The case:
The solid gold case (18k) of this watch is in very clean condition, there are no dents or scratches on the case and cover, and for sure there are no serious injuries from dropping or impact.
Very tight and pretty covers - they stopped at 90 degrees, like the watch, just coming out from the factory.
The glass is absolutely no scratches on it and it is real glass what it should be.
On the inside cover of a gold case, there are inscriptions (FIRST BIG ONE)" PPCo" ”stamp "HELVETIA HEAD" shows us the purity of gold 0.750, 18K, the logo of Patek and the serial number.
on the inside cover (DUST COVER, SECOND ONE) there are inscriptions )
    " CHRONOMETRO GONDOLO - FABRICADO EXPRESSAMENTE PARA GONDOLO & LABOURIAU RELOGIOS - RIO-DE-JANEIRO - PATEK PHILIPPE & GENEVE" "N 140352” stamp "PATEK LOGO " ”0.750, 18K” and serial number.
The crown is in gold-tone classic swiss style, very tight perfect working order, the bow is very tight and also in perfect condition.
EACH AND EVERY ELEMENT OF THIS POCKET WATCH HAS A STAMP FOR 18k"0.750" SOLID GOLD. „HELVETIA HEAD“
The serial number of the case is : 246106

    The movement:
I can safely say is rarely seen as a well-preserved Patek Philippe movement.
an impressive and incredible manual movement, made in year 1908. The movement has been completely cleaned and oiled, it works very well and has been tested for a short period of time and shows very good results.
One of the most interesting things about this watch is that three of the mechanism wheels are made of gold - the center wheel, third and fourth wheels are made of gold.
To clean it every one part was disassembled, cleaned, and oiled, then placed back very precisely.
The watch movement goes slow for about 10 - 15 seconds every 24 hours which is a very good achievement.
In old times a well-working pocket watch gave a difference of 2 - 3 minutes in 24 hours, as watches have been adjusted every day.
The balance running very strong with 18,000 BPH per hour, in absolutely perfect condition.
The Micro Regulator is right in the middle of where it should be after a service.
That movement has 20 Jewels, which means that the movement has 20 precious stones (20 rubies), the stones are on the places where it is large friction in order to protect the metal from abrasion.
Inscription on the movement are : "PATEK PHILIPPE & GENEVE" "PAT.JAN.13. - 1891"and serial number.
The serial number of the movement is: 140352

    About the Box:
Brown pocket watch box with green velvet inside.
    Measurements of the box
    are : 140 x 100 x 30mm.

    The dial:
It has Roman numerals, black numbers on a white background with one subsidiary dial.
    Very beautiful dial.
The dial is in very good condition with no damages and no visible cracks on it.
The subs-dials have Arabic numerals and dashes, also very clean condition.
There are no fingerprints on the dial or greasy spots.
    The hands:
    Hands in gold-tone
classic Swiss shape of a peak in very good condition.
Minute hand extended, ending exactly in a circle.
    Very well-preserved condition.
They are made in Swiss classic shape.

Hey, superb watch. This watch was made for one of the most important retailers of Patek in the world, namely Gondolo&Laboriau from Rio the Janeiro Brasil. You read it Laborio. This watch is housing the caliber 21 H6.8 Gondolo that is has some particular features: the most important is that that is has the train of wheels made from 9k gold. Other features are moustache lever, wolf teeth, etc. This caliber was made only for open face pocket watches. You'll never find it in a hunter version.

@@thekeeperoftime1977 an interesting fact about those Gondolo calibers is that back then they sold in increments (installments). Here is a video about similar Patek ua-cam.com/video/QP3mvqCheW4/v-deo.html

I'm glad you like the video. I have watched this video, the box in this video is very good. It would be interesting to know what the price of these watches was back then.

Thanks for the video. Do you know how to adjust the regulator of that watch ?, I tried to move the small part that points in the middle of the letters A & R without success. Thanks you very much in advance

Thanks for watching. "A" is advance "R" retard. Press firmly using a tooth stick in the direction you want. If it doesn't move, it means it's very stiff. Don't use metal tools you will scratch it unless you use them very gently.

I heard your commentary about not being sure if those wheels are made of gold. No no. Be sure 100% that those wheels are made of 9k gold.

I understand very well that these are gold wheels. In the video I say I've seen same watch with brass wheels as well, so I'm not sure if they were manufactured that way or if someone changed them afterwards.

Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The writings are in portuguese. It says: manufactured expressly for Gondolo e Labouriau watchmakers Rio de Janeiro.
