My god - I absolutely cherish the thought of getting my hands on a Patek Philippe pocket watch. The sounds mesmerize me. Sooo incredibly special.
Amazing and comprehensive video as usual, please review each pocket watch’s for the coming posts. Keep going, you’re doing great work !
Lovely, just lovely! A Patek minute repeater or Rattrapante would be nice to have. After lying dormant for years, what a comeback now for pocket watches. Thanks John
Thank you for your kind comment. Pocket watches are getting the attention they deserve!
Dear John, Thank you for this very informative video! You have a wealth of information to share!
Fascinating video. Interesting to see how these are constructed and the proper way to use them.
wonderfully informative, thank you ... just gorgeous pocket watches!
Excellent video John! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for enlightening me on the correct way to wind a pocket watch.l have a small American pocket watch collection and was winding my watches incorrectly because everyone lve seen was doing it that way.
split second is so iconic when you think of how. innovative that must have been for the time. I personally love the minute repeater, it's like the watch is talking to you and has character.
Thank you for your comment. We could not agree with you more!
Another interesting video, thank you, John
Great post ! That world timer is stunning. Btw, I was lucky enough to visit Patek service centre in the uk re using toothpicks they said it caused damage to modern pieces as they have a rubber gasket in the corrector to ensure watch remains water tight. They gave me a box of plastic Patek correctors so I can keep them in both my houses and office !
I agree if you do not apply even and direct pressure to the corrector it could eventually wear down the gaskets over time. What you use is as important as how you do it. For me, a toothpick is the perfect tool but I hope Patek starts giving out plastic correctors globally! That is the first I hear of a plastic Patek corrector and welcome it as wonderful news. Thank you for checking out the video and your welcome advice!
Can you make a video on the art 🖼 of engraving, enameling, gem 💎 setting, miniature painting 🖼 , automata in PP watches
Great channel John, loved watching your auction interviews and amazing stories behind some of the watches. Now you have ur own channel! Awesome! Some videos on entry level Pateks and your views for young buyers will be great! Ta
Amazing!
Great info
Thank you for your kind comment.
john, when is the collaboration with archieluxury coming? archie actually knows quite a lot about vintage pateks!
It was miraculous enough that AC3 and Paul Thorpe did a two-parter.
I am interested in buying a vintage (1900-1920) Patek philippe. But my concern is what happens if it stops ticking? What are the costs of fixing it after that?
Question, where to buy your pocket watch box? I really like it
It's a great box made by Scatola del Tempo. I regret they don't have them anymore.
