    Another great day on the water for a trophy catfisherman! This is the perfect example of the way it is. You don't just hop in a kayak paddle out and boom GIANT fish. Skunk days and dink days are a big reality. Keeps it interesting

    Well Justin, I see why you have haters. Because you are good at what you do and you keep it simple. You put alot of fish in the boat and most of them are good fish. We northern inland fishermen would have very blessed days with your "dinks". 30"+ fish are not so common here.

      My PB is 73 pounds. Yet the word Dink is not in my vocabulary!! 🤣😂😂😂. I enjoy catching a One Pound cat as much
      as I do catching a monster.
      I’ve seen folks who are catching fish steady- yet are horribly disappointed. - simply because they have been influenced by that “ it’s a dink” mentality! 🤣😂🤣😂🇺🇸🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼.

      Robert Gilchrist my pb is only like 45. But I have caught a 10 pounder crappie fishing using a true temper fishing rod that was my great grandpas. And ice caught like a 10lb carp trout fishing on 4lb test

    Agree on freezing shad. I vacuum seal some just for quick trips. Fresh baits seems to payoff alot more

    You’ll have to come to southern Indiana and fish the Ohio with us sometime. Seems like someone is always catching a 80# plus fish every week in the group. Kayaking is a option most of the time as the current rips pretty heavy much of the time.

    I can’t throw a net to save my life. I bought a 6ft one in February and I’ve watched Dave and Justin’s how-to’s and thrown it probably 50 times and all of twice it’s opened. Usually lands in a banana shape or in a heap unopened.

      keep at it. It took me a while to get it. I found I wasn't giving enough height to the throw and not enough rotation of my hips. Once you get it, it is like riding a bike it comes back quick.

    I know you want big cats. I'm from Texas, i fish lake Mathis lake where the river comes in, from the bank. I wish j had those 50 foot holes, lol! Those 5-10 pounders way better eating than a 40 pounder, but your probably doing catch and release. Our lake is at a miserable %33 capacity, that is an amazing fishing spot ❤️. I fish i usually fish midnight to 10 am next day, our bag limit in Texas is 25, what's yours?

    Does anyone have tips for fishing lakes for catfish, specifically lake Murray. I have a kayak so I can pretty much fish anywhere on the lake. I am probably going to use cut bluegill for bait. Should I cast and let them sit in the water or should I slowly pedal along at a low speed and suspend the baits? Thanks - Caleb

      Caleb The Spy , if you don’t have a graph on your kayak so you can locate structure, then you will probably do better drifting. I would run two off the back with santee rigs and suspend the front two like justin does. If you don’t know what a santee rig is check out Dieter Melhorn fishing on UA-cam. He fishes lake Wylie which is not far from you and like justin, does a great job with his instructional videos. Btw. Filet strips off those bluegill the catfish on Keowee eat them up. Good luck.

    nice size dinks, video and info. channel cats on ultralight are fun, pull hard and you throw them back anyway, have you put all three pieces of shad on a hook? stay safe.

    I would try a whole gizzard shad, but score the sides of it and give it about 1 1/2 hours for a bite. Have you ever done that, or with a big perch?

    Today I vacuum packed some shad and put them in the bottom of a refrigerator I'll use these in 4 days what's your opinion or have you tried this method?

      As long as you put the shad on ice BEFORE the guts start to bloat, you can freeze em use em 2 months later be just fine, stay on your hook too 😊

      His name is Justin, bud And yeah, you can freeze them. Just put them in a baggy. But like any bait fish, they're usually not as effective after being frozen solid for long periods of time. I suggest going out no earlier than a day or so before fishing for cat, bagging them and packing them in a cooler of ice.
