Love the little dig at Catfish Dave at the end. He’s been givin you hell lately 😂 I know y’all are friends but the jabs at each other are funny. Another great video 👍
Man that's why I love this channel no matter if its bluegill or catfish always positive an having fun. This is the number 1 channel on UA-cam 🐟 🐠 🎏 🎣 🐡
I've NEVER heard a catfish grunt like that!!! This made my day!! I love all your videos and greatly appreciate your content, your tips, and all your catches that share with us!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Look on navionics. The mouth of fishing creek has 2 channels that converge next to an underwater island along side a submerged bridge. Thats you're spot
You forgot to stand up in the kayak and do a little catfish jig before you tried get'n jiggy wit it ! LOL The dance is IMPORTANT ! ahahahaha Thanks for another fun video !
Hey Justin, I'm sure you'd get a kick out of the last 16 and a half minutes or so of Richard Gene the Fishing Machine's latest video: "THAT IS NOT A BASS!!! Surprise Catch While Fishing Googan Squad Jig!" It won't take long for you to see why I'm suggesting you watch it. I'm a long-time fan of yours and look forward to many more of your vids. I enjoy all your videos, but especially the ones where you catch striped bass. I also was delighted to hear in one of your older ultralight videos the mention of Buck Perry. I'm a spoonplugger and I should have figured that as good a fisherman as your are you'd be aware of the Daddy of Structure Fishing. Good luck with the new kayak and the channel.
I vertical jig for Flathead on a small river here in the early to mid fall when the water drops into the low 60's down to around 50. I use a 4" Zoom fluke tipped with a minnow, sometimes just the fluke. Getting that thump is a shot of adrenaline brother. It's the only way I fish for the Flathead. Love this video. Hell I love em all!
Did you know that sound from the fish is actually from their fins clicking and not there mouth? It blew my mind when I found that out. As always great video! I’ll be on the lake next week!
You better watch out for those drone spies. I did have to laugh, I noticed that I recognized those two large smoke stacks in the background. Now to just extrapolate your position and I’ve got you. LOL
Great video Justin! Loved it as always. Where I'm at I crappie fish a lot in the spring. For me it is surprising just how many channel cats I catch on a 2" crapping jig when fishing for crapping. I think when the conditions are right you would do really well on Flathead and Blue Catfish with the vertical jigging method. Vertical jigging is 90% of how I fish for crappie and it works really well for me. Those channels come along and just like crappie where you catch one there will be more behind that in the same spot and typically they get bigger and bigger as you fish until they have all be caught. Again great video! Bill.
Let me know when you want to sale the old kayak LMAO 😜 really like the new kayak or to increase comments to could give the old kayak away to one of your followers comments lol. Have a great weekend!
Yeah I love vertical jigging for anything. Back in spring we was catching flatheads on a white bucktails off a local spillway wall fun stuff. Another awesome video u never disappoint keep em coming.
Sitting in my training class watching this with the sound off.......waiting till the boss man says it's time to go, so I can watch it with the volume up. Lol
Thumpin for flatheads is a lot of fun. We have been doing it for years we start in February when the water temperature is below 50. Them flathead are stacked up in the mud
Justin, when you posted the first video about the Autopilot I thought it was a game changer. I’m too old and fat to paddle or peddle, so I never gave kayaking a serious thought. Since that initial video, I’ve been seriously considering it but no one has had it in stock. Found a dealer with a 120 yesterday. He agreed to hold it until today. Got project approval from the wife! Going out to buy it this afternoon! Really looking forward to your future video concerning your setup. Thanks for all the info to date. Old Town’s marketing decision to supply these to various UA-cam posters has paid off.
Richard Gene has a video filmed on Guntersville where he uses a similar technique. He calls it bottom bumping. He uses a bass setup and a lightweight Carolina rig with several threadfin shad. He targeted bridge pilings bumping the bait off all that debris on the bottom. Caught mostly smaller blues and some channels. With the lighter tackle it looks fun. I can't figure out how you keep from getting snagged. It cant' be easy.
Going to try the jigging tactic on a couple local lakes near me this year. Channels and flatheads is all that’s in them. But, there’s flatheads that will go into the 50-70 pound range
Great video keep up the good work can't wait till fall I think I might have ignited the spark with catfish Dave when I told him he needs to take some pointers from you 🤣✌️
I haven’t tried jigging in a couple of years. It is sure a hoot when they hit. Thanks for the trip and for sharing your experience. Catfish Dave did get out of bed early the other day. That’s once this year. haha. Tight lines bud.
Love the videos bud! That minnkota giving you ideas for videos like this is exactly what I expected to see! Can’t wait to see the striper trolling vids!
I especially liked his photo shopped steam plant towers he added to the background to make it look like he was 1 mile downstream from a discharge. Well played
Dang good video man. Im gonna be doin some night fishin tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll have a night of catching some good fish. Keep up the good videos and waiting for the next one to come out
Well Justin and look to be a productive morning and you had the one respectful fish well a fish is a fish that's very true and it don't mean that it's got to be a a 40 + that would be awesome but you called several small ones and that really decent blue cat that was awesome awesome morning thank you for the video and thank you for sharing with all of us I enjoy it
The other day I was checking my jugs at me and my dads private lake and this was our first time doing jugs and we had a 80 pound catfish and he came up and then dove down and bent the hook.😪
Do you have a solar panel hooked to the battery? Get one from harbor freight for about $10 like they use to keep the batteries charged on rv"s. It will extend your fishing time immensely.
Good technique looked like a lot of fun, shame you didnt hook up with any flatties. I'm going to have to try that up here on the Maumee. Oh and do you ever try top water lures like frogs or poppers when you go for bass? I've enjoyed watching you fish the local tournaments lately, and that top water blowup is always awesome to see.
That I pilot is bad ass....im getting ready to try jug fishing would that I pilot be able to mark jugs easily?? Glad to see it back man lol..good fishing
Awesome fishing, love how you're breaking in the yak. May I recommend a lanyard for your remote? When I saw you sit it beside you all I could think about was a wake coming and you hearing a splash. Glad it didn't happen. Tight lines to ya bro.
I don't have to tell you a flathead will try to tear bait off they are fair talented at that. I caught a 20 pound flat head the other night it had a lot of grit on it's bottom lip inside like it had not eaten in a while . Bluegill he hit like a chanel at first slacked my line to bank and pulled it tight again only moving tip of rod light and then try to take my rod in the water.
How long can you keep bluegill on ice in a cooler? If I was to catch some Friday evening would they still be good for Saturday morning? Using for bait not to eat.
Love the little dig at Catfish Dave at the end. He’s been givin you hell lately 😂 I know y’all are friends but the jabs at each other are funny. Another great video 👍

Me and my wife love this kayak fishing concept. Been watching for a year. Getting our kayaks for lake Cumberland soon! Thank you
I’m on Cumberland also and exactally can’t find a good spot
You're gonna LoVe it! Stay safe and tight lines!
I'm lake Cumberland as well and only caught small ones
Look on navionics. The mouth of fishing creek has 2 channels that converge next to an underwater island along side a submerged bridge. Thats you're spot
DaniDerek Singleton great guy I love his videos also I say he the greatest of all time in cat fishing ❤️❤️

I saw river certified jig up some flattys with those wildeye storm shad in a video... was pretty cool to see
Thanks to your videos,i know exactly what bait to use to catch catfish, love your videos..keep them videos coming 💯
Great video Justin. Jigging for big cats is not always successful but always fun. Thank you for the passion and quality work. Blessings.
I vertical jig for Flathead on a small river here in the early to mid fall when the water drops into the low 60's down to around 50. Between you and Catfish Dave. You guys keep me entertained!

great video, always fishing the same way can get boring. it fun to try something new. stay safe.
You better watch out for those drone spies. I did have to laugh, I noticed that I recognized those two large smoke stacks in the background. Now to just extrapolate your position and I’ve got you. LOL
your videos are awesome just like richard, mike, and dave you guys are the bomb to watch i try your tricks and i do catch and i don't but i enjoy it

Good video funny thing about your joke on that giant moth. They really make insect size look alike a spy drones lol
That is the rod I use,the Bionic Blade,I have 6 set for catfishing, they have worked very well for me..
Great start to my Friday!
You and Dave are killin me! Keep up the good fishin bud!!

another great day on the water thanks for taking us along
Justin just a thought maybe try a flapper rig on the jig setup next time for a little more action and scent with the bluegill
The drone spy comment had me rolling. I'm heading out to a private lake tonight after your favorites.. Channel cats. lol. Fish on!
Sitting in my training class watching this with the sound off.......waiting till the boss man says it's time to go, so I can watch it with the volume up. Lol

STARTING THE DAY RIGHT!!!!!!!!! Keep it up Justin

Hope you enjoy the kayak. I am loving mine so far.

Great commutating!! Another quality video brother!! That kind of thump on a bass rod feels GREAT!
Good Job as usual Justin.
I've been canoeing for twenty years and love my canoe's but as much as as love them I'm definitely looking at getting this kayak next year
Gosh you make it look easy. I’m loving that I pilot. Great video.
Great video keep up the good work can't wait till fall I think I might have ignited the spark with catfish Dave when I told him he needs to take some pointers from you 🤣✌️
Glad the new motor is working out great video

Always an adventure isn’t it... fun video thanks
ABSOLUTLEY LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS
Dave sent that drone spy over. lol
Another great vid from kayak catfish!!!
Man that has to be fun feeling that heavy pull.
Love the videos bud! That minnkota giving you ideas for videos like this is exactly what I expected to see! Can’t wait to see the striper trolling vids!
The drone thing is a new one on me, some people are just nutts.
The drone comment was just a joke about that giant moth that landed on my kayak. Not really a drone
LOL....Ya got me hooked
LOL....Ya got me hooked
Clicked Immediately😀
Love your channel dude!
Me to
The catfish said," I am so glad YOU caught me. I know you are going to throw me back. I will tell all my friends about you." Lmao..
The lengths people will go to, to find my fishing spots. Dude you had me dead there. Sounds like my damn father and his conspiracy theories. Lol.
I especially liked his photo shopped steam plant towers he added to the background to make it look like he was 1 mile downstream from a discharge. Well played
I’d like to see some anchor fishing with those bonus stripers! Good stuff bud
Dang good video man. Im gonna be doin some night fishin tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll have a night of catching some good fish. Keep up the good videos and waiting for the next one to come out
A drone spy for someone's fishing spot..... I've heard it all now. Great videos.
Awesome video yet again.
Man I was really hoping to see you catch a flathead! I always wondered if they could be caught that way. Great video!!
Well Justin and look to be a productive morning and you had the one respectful fish well a fish is a fish that's very true and it don't mean that it's got to be a a 40 + that would be awesome but you called several small ones and that really decent blue cat that was awesome awesome morning thank you for the video and thank you for sharing with all of us I enjoy it
Another great video. Going to try the jigging some time in the near future. Thank You.
Loved that, you need to do again sometime
The other day I was checking my jugs at me and my dads private lake and this was our first time doing jugs and we had a 80 pound catfish and he came up and then dove down and bent the hook.😪
My dad was mad at me and told me why did I not get him in the net and I told him hid head would not fit in
need bigger hooks...
@@Joe-rd8mq we were using big circle hooks
Great video as always
Love your narration, really enjoy the videos. Keep up the great job. Have you ever fished the New River in WV?
No, I haven’t ever fished there.
I know where you’re at I live 5 miles from there would like to learn more!
Do you have a solar panel hooked to the battery? Get one from harbor freight for about $10 like they use to keep the batteries charged on rv"s. It will extend your fishing time immensely.
I have a 100ah lithium. I don’t imagine I will be running out of juice.
I love your videos I learn a lot from you
Good technique looked like a lot of fun, shame you didnt hook up with any flatties. I'm going to have to try that up here on the Maumee.
Oh and do you ever try top water lures like frogs or poppers when you go for bass? I've enjoyed watching you fish the local tournaments lately, and that top water blowup is always awesome to see.
I rarely ever throw a top water. I should do it more often though because it is a lot of fun.
Another good video stay safe
Catfish Dave 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Great vid brother.
That I pilot is bad ass....im getting ready to try jug fishing would that I pilot be able to mark jugs easily?? Glad to see it back man lol..good fishing
You can store 10 spots on the i-Pilot remote so I suppose you could mark 10 jugs if they were anchored
@@KayakCatfish that be perfect cuz your allowed 10 jugs in maryland
Awesome fishing, love how you're breaking in the yak. May I recommend a lanyard for your remote? When I saw you sit it beside you all I could think about was a wake coming and you hearing a splash. Glad it didn't happen. Tight lines to ya bro.
Nevermind forgot about your camera on your chest
The remote is on a lanyard. It is attached to my seat.
Of course, you always have everything right on those yaks lol. I know that monster flattie is coming on the next trip
Justin you need to get Dave in your other Kayak and follow a long with you and try some Kayak fishing with you .. I bet it would be a hoot.
Dave would fall out of a kayak...he looks like a fish out of water on his boat! Boy belongs on the shore
That blue was cussing u out
Nothing worse than a cussing catfish!...lol..Lol....lol Enjoyed the video Justin👍
Nice video 👍🏼
That vertical jigging technique looks promising. You might increase your odds by butterflying your bluegill.
How long can you keep bluegill on ice in a cooler? If I was to catch some Friday evening would they still be good for Saturday morning? Using for bait not to eat.
They will be fine on ice overnight
how do you like fishing the northeast winds have a great day
I never pay attention to which direction the wind is blowing
I speak catfish and that squealing cat was giving coordinates to the lunar moth. You can't trust nothing anymore.
Hey bluegill the best bait for flathead
Great vid still great 👍
Get jigy with it na na na na na na na na na na na na na
Makes you wonder if you would have did as good with skips.
How did you get your kayak to follow a path? Does it link to your fishfinder?
I recorded the route I wanted to follow and then pushed a button on the remote. The motor takes over control.
Did you throw the drone in the water? I would have lol
Can you explain the “drone spy” you mentioned in the video?
It was a joke dude
best laid plans etc etc BUT STILL looked like a great day fishin......
Can you catch channel catfish and flatheads on skipjack cut bait
Watch some more of my videos and you will see me do it
Haven’t seen you do a bass tournament in the new kayak
The bass tournaments I fish don’t allow motors so I can’t use it there.
Thanks always appreciate the response
Was just about done in the bathroom at work until now
Haha!!! That’s hysterical
Another good job Justin, keep on suspending baites love watchn
Don’t fall asleep using the I pilot in between hook ups
do you remove the slime from the line before fishing again
Nah. The fish don’t mind the slime on there.
do you still use the dragging tech with the hose filled with birdshot?
Yes but I haven’t done it very much the last couple years.
Justin, would like to ask you a few questions about the Minn Kota with pilot. May I email or phone you?
I’m sorry. I just don’t have time for one on one chats. You can ask your questions on here and I will try to get to them when I can though.
17:57 Fartin🐠💨 fish fart
Have you ever caught a muckie?
Yes
@@KayakCatfish how big?
You think maybe the jig is waking them up and their catching the suspended
What size hooks u using for live blue gills
10/0 but only because I’m too lazy to retie my rigs. A smaller hook would be better for live bluegill.
ok was the drone spy thing real?? probably a stupid question but:)
It was just a joke about a giant moth that landed on my kayak. I can’t believe how many people have asked about that lol
@@KayakCatfish haha thanks for humoring me:)
