Pricey, but nice! I wish some of the new bikes came with an adjustable set up like this for normal foot pegs. There are several bikes I would be interested in , except, the pegs are too far back and too high. If they were adjustable, I might fit that bike and be a buyer. Never thought they would be that expensive. I used hyme joints and bolts to make my own for my RD cafe back in the day. No one was making parts for street bikes back in 76/77, you just had to make your own. Took a couple of tries, but got some made that worked great and fit me to a T. Looking forward to your report after riding. I bet you will like them.
Coming to motos from a background racing cycling (track (velodrome) and road) bike fit is critical. My ‘17 S1000R fits “ok” but I wish it was part of the delivery that the bike is fitted to you.
@@brianglendenning1632 Yes, that would make the higher price worth it so much more. I have modified every bike I have owned since 1970. It is even an important part of safety that the bike "fits" the rider properly.
@@seniorrider9337 agree. My Point is bicycles are delivered with a significant degree of adjustability to fit the rider, where motorcycles have much less adjustability. I would like to see even just a basic degree of adjustability in rear sets and perhaps adjustable seat height. But having said that, the value of even the expensive hyper naked bikes is relatively good compared to high performance road and mountain bikes, especially where supply is so constrained due to covid.
Hi Cuban, I'm watching your videos since 2016 🙂, even before I bought my own S1000XR. I'm considering the purchase of the HP rearset, but not for racing purposes. I'm a very tall rider and the knee angle is pretty poor with the standard ones. May you do a measurement in the lowest position of the rearset - so the linear shift at "0" as well es the angle by "-1" I saw the HP set was mounted on the XR during the crash and I'm not sure whether they remain functional. I would be very pleased you can help me with the figures to avoid spending money without benefit to my riding position. thx Erik
This is the reason I changed my S1000R footpegs to the RR version. Higher up and a little more towards the front. It changed ALOT in terms of riding. It’s a shame I still scraped both the carbon exhaust piece and left footpeg😂
Cuban I think I said this before but you are like my twin brother, same bike, same helmet, same mods 😃😃😃 I got my set for half the price sure it was used but in perfect condition. The only downside I find they are little slippery when wet.
Finally went to the track on my 2016 XR for the first time last weekend and the pegs dragged. Now I'm looking for an alternative as well. Saw the Woodcraft for R that's marked as compatible with XR. Any thoughts on them or should I just go all the way like you to the HP bin? 😂
I went with cheaper alternatives and now with the HP I'm so happy with them that if I had to do it again I'd spend the money from the get go. One of the best mods you can do to this bike handling wise. Now my exhaust touches down before my pegs do. 😄
@@CubanRider wow... I've seen your lean angle... very inspiring, but I'm definitely not that brave. 🤣 Just priced a new pair of HP ones, it's up there. The main thing is my track shoes would get stuck on the OEM peg's side plate (?). Will see if there are people selling used ones or any alternative that would let me adjust it up high enough. 🙏😁
Shame there isn't an s1000xr race series, I've not seen one ridden as hard as you do .....and now with more ground clearance ! Is there anything else that'll deck out before the new peg arrangement ?
Didn't have much luck finding a set myself. Best bet is to keep an eye on the FB Groups and eBay to see if anyone puts a set on sale. The ones I found on eBay are individual left and right ones for for over $500 each. 🤯
@@CubanRider bro una recomendación? Tu le metiste rápido bike a tu moto y que otra cosa ora q andará más? Te pregunto por si eso q le metiste a tu moto le quedará a la 2021???
A lot of people drop the bar on the forks, which I have been considering, but I didn't want to lose even more footpeg clearance. This is something I may consider now, along with narrower bars.
I had a set of bonamici rearsets w folding pegs on my Streetfighter. They’re sold separately and looks like my only solution. Just friggin love the way that billet aluminum looks on the xr.
They're much better in every way to the stock rearsets, which are pretty bad imo. The QS is more consistent for me as well, with these having a LOT less lever play. They don't fold though. If you care about that, the pegs can be replaced with foldable ones from the manufacturer Gilles. I pretty much got used to the occasional bruise, lol.
I’ve just found this video, hope you are enjoying the rear sets, very much appreciated for the shout out.
Nice bit of kit

I didn't know they fit! Good stuff.

Does anyone know where I can find replacement parts for these ? I broke my gearshift lever I need to replace just that part.
@cuban where did you find them in red colour? I think they are available only in blue! Can you sent the link? 🙏
Good job Cuban, but, what will be next part of the XR to touch the asphalt?😉
I think it'll still be the pegs, need to do more testing 🙂

Great minds think alike! 🤘 I'll keep in mind the slippery situation; next COTA is at the end of November, so by then it might be cold and wet. 😬

Hi, 3 months in, what’s your feedback on HP rear set?

nice brother. Do they fold? If not, won’t be “legal” in Europe.
