Marathon traffic and flood debris

In addition to inconsistent wind, we had to deal with Grandma’s Marathon traffic and debris in the Lake as a result of the major flooding we have had in northern Minnesota. I suppose it was for the best it wasn’t really cranking because the logs would have been much harder to spot. As we head into the dog days of summer we just have to settle for whatever we can get.

Hey Tim - buttress up the bow of your V9 during repair so it can plow through this kind of debris? There are definitely times when we could use a front plow on our skis in the Bay.

@@paulreavley5900 😹 Good idea! A couple years ago I was paddling the Zen and large tree sized log suddenly appeared coming over the wave in front of me and I had no time to really react. Luckily, it was riding very low in the water and I surfed right up onto it. Of course I became instantly unstable and fell in. It took a bit of effort to get the ski off the log from in the water with the waves and such.

Marathon traffic??

Grandma’s marathon route is along the Lake and results in some closed roads and traffic congestion making our shuttle pick up a bit complicated.
