    For me I find the center of balance on a new boat and put a little piece of electrical tape on the bottom to mark where to pick it up

    I always take my flip flops off, there's extra risk for a miss step that could cause injury and a damaged boat.

    These are such great recommendations! Probably the most dangerous times for the boat are carrying and loading. WIND is the main enemy, I’ve found. Your boat is a sail. Pick it up pointing into or away from the wind. Attending to wind direction, or better, not picking it up as a single person if it’s windy, is always important. These things are too expensive and delicate to use “bro-logic” and trying to be “He-Man!” MARK your center points with tape or marker…and use those marks. FWIW, I’m learning to control my 18’ FSK! 😅
