Right? Everyone has different playing styles, so I can see a lot of people wanting to do different things at once and then getting on each other's nerves because they can't agree on what to do.
Yep. If your not in a group and want to play solo your just gonna be easy pickings. In online gaming like this you don't meet strangers and say lets go questing you start shooting so if you want to just quest and not engage in PVP combat your just gonna end up getting ganked constantly. Only way I can see that being mitigated is by having a very low number of players per server to give each player a lot of space to either be a loner or engage other players if they choose.
Yeah, during the conference Tom said that there would only be a few dozen people on each server. Plus the map is 4x bigger than fallout 4 so I think it'll be fine.
He also said that private servers that you can mod and stuff would be coming soon. Don't get me wrong, I love blowing up raiders and the like.... but there are a lot of times when I mostly focused on building settlements and the like in fallout 4. It's the only reason why I still play the game, actually.
Fer sure. That would be cool if you could have your own map and Mod it as desired and if you invite people in they can play with you or you can just explore and quest solo. I guess the whole no NPC thing would still make sense for continuity sake since it is in such a rural area and well the whole nuclear war thing. I'm just thinking at launch its gonna literally be Fallout PUBG hopefully that will change

It's not that im completely dismissing the game, but I will treat it with a degree of caution. I won't buy it or make a decision until the reports of issues come in after 3-5 months after the game has been released. I personally think that's the wise thing to do.
Keith M . Exactly. After Fallout 4, I decided that the next Fallout game will have to be out for awhile so I can see people play it and know about everything with the game. They've stripped too much out of Fallout which made Fallout what it is. Only thing I haven't heard is a voiced protagonist, which is good for me if they don't have that.

They would be morons to not realize this. Hell, even just a matchmaking "filter" of a sort on the main menu. "Select server type: PvP or PvE" I'm no game designer so I don't know the work behind it but is that simple of a feature too much to ask for? I'm really hoping this game is good, but if the incentives he mentions are anything less than straight up giving us the option to opt out, no thanks. If I wanted to dodge bullets and missiles constantly instead of actually experiencing the game mechanics, I would play GTA online.
Well I've played thousands of hours of Arma 2 and 3 mods, the different Dayz versions (Epoch, Overpoch etc) and Exile, Breaking Point... All post apocalyptic MMOs. And trust me, there are loads of people who don't kill on sight partly because not everyone is like that and partly because it was designed so that there were incentives to not kill on sight and play a friendly role. Fun tip: there’s close to no one per server. Imagine fallout 4s map, multiply it by 4x, and spread our 30-40 players in that huge map. Good luck finding anyone within the first week
Grant1878 Gotta say, after checking the FO4 map size, I'm kinda concerned this map will be bit too small. Personally I absolutely loved the Arma2/Dayz map of Chernarus with 50-100 players on it. The map size is 225km2 and FO4 is bit less than 10km2, so FO76 will be about 40km2... I hope the player counts stay in those amounts of 30-40. That way the hotspots might have the 5-10 players constantly on them.
During the presentation: You can play solo! *pre-orders 300 dollary doo power armor edition* During the interview: Can you play offline? No! *cancels pre-order*
No Gravitas he literally said it’s always online but you can play by yourself. That’s your own fault for not listening. There were no buzzwords or PR bullshit there, it was VERY clear.
No humans survived? Pre war ghouls? Nobody remembers Underworld F03. I get they wanna be successful, but ask Disney what happens when you curb stomp your fan base
I forgot to add that i have very little interest in Fallout 76 from what ive seen so far. But I cant deny how much i enjoyed the Elder Scrolls Series and Bethesda's take on Fallout through 3 to 4.
+Zbriu F76 is just a spin-off, genius, nobody is forcing u to play it. If u honestly thought it would've been another singleplayer game despite the fact that Bethesda's LAST GAME was a FO game then you're an idiot that has no idea how Bethesda works; they make a TES game then a FO game and then a TES game then a FO game etc etc, they dont release another game in the same franchise right after they already made a game in an entry in the franchise.
Todd is the brains behind all the great games we have had specially the best series of all time the elderscrolls. We wouldnt have these games with out him Thank YOU Todd!!!!
Todd Howard saying “Alexa play Skyrim” actually caused my Alexa to boot it up. He is literally infiltrating our homes phonetically to make us play Skyrim.
Okay finally 9:08 mods and private servers are mentioned for the future. That is critical to whether my friends and I are interested or not. They still have me due to private servers in the future.
Dark Adventures they will have me in the future when they actually release these things. I gave up trusting game dev's to deliver on promises long ago.
Im cautiously optimistic. I totally understand your feelings and I am with you. I aint pre ordering a thing. Wont even think of throwing money at them until they are implemented.
lmao when did he say that? I didn't hear him once say you could turn it off, only that they were tweaking it to find the best way to make players not feel griefed on
why cant we play without other player becouse 95% of people i meet in games would i never ever want to play with again. So just let us play solo and offline
6 років тому+1
pc master race it’s called make friends in real life you loser.
The no NPCs thing is threatening this game SO f*cking much. Let´s wait. I understand the world is not full of people because is really close to the nukes but some NPCs from the vault would come handy... I don´t know. Risky decision.
Press X To Shaun i hope so man. Bethesda has already made a facebook page and website for starfield which is also good signs its coming very soon. 2019 or atleast 2020 gotta be it.
Press X To Shaun no way they release TES6 with only 2 years of full production - you're taking crazy pills with that view. 3-4 years of full production on each Bethesda Studios game - I see nothing to suggest anything to speed this up. Fallout 76 this year means Starfield 2021 (so we'll have 2 years of build up to Starfields release - with basically nothing else about it this year as Fallout 76 DLC will take the attention). Expect TES6 to drop 3-4 years after Starfield.
lol i know it was just wishful thinking dude not an actual estimate i'm saying absolute best case scenario, ie preproduction is near the very end and they can start actual development within this year, then take 3 years to develop (2019 2020 2021) and we get it near the end of 2021 also there's nothing to suggest that they only just started full production on starfield lmao, they recently got a new studio that they put to working on fallout 76. the rest of their studios very easily could have been working on starfield at the same time dude
Bethesda dangled the metaphorical carrot of a new fallout game. They did not give us a new Fallout game.. They gave us a Fallout style GTA online clone. I dont look forward to bethesda's equivalent of shark cards.
We are the people paying for these products, when a company released something under a brand, we have a reasonable expectation of what that brand represents...in this case they took thirty years or more of history and ignored it in favour of experimenting with a risky game style because it was either ruin Fallout with this nonsense, or Elder Scrolls. This is a business decision to slap a name on a game type that doesn't deserve it every bit as much as Metal Gear Survive.
I've only just come across this guy (interviewer), but he's already one of my favourite interviewers. You don't get that awkwardness that comes from trying too hard and he asks precise, brilliant questions.
Nope .. not even banking of Starfield as I have lost my faith in Bethesda. I will look at wasteland 3 and other of its ilk instead. And Odyssey the story of science? That myst clone? I am not touching that for any amount of money. Cyberpunk 2077? I am not that hopeful but am taking a look only because of CD projeck. But then again, I only have time for about 1 or 2 title a year .. so it definitely will NOT be fallout76
I work at an instrument store in Northern Virginia. A man from Bethesda came in with his family who worked on Skyrim. I'm a composer who dreams to work in games. After seeing this and the trailers I pray for a huge opportunity someday soon!
I'm saving $60+ it looks like. I've been playing Fallout since waaaay back in 97. I have tried multiplayer and absolutely hated it (and as an older gamer none of my friends play video games.) I have to deal with jackwagons in the real world, I don't want to deal with them when I play video games. Solo mode is not single player mode in the truest sense of the word to me. Sounds like you can play solo but you'll still see other players. No thanks.
Better save about 300 if you ever want to play the whole game. He said they would be 'constantly putting out new content'. Which means a buttload of dlc's or ingame transactions. So 60 for the bare bones game and then 100+ for the rest.
Thank you Todd for the memories and the future you have paved for these video games. Thank God for the talent these people have been blessed with. Video games have been my favorite hobby since I was 3 years old. I am 27 now. I know he said starfield and tes 6 will be next gen...but I still have trouble waiting. At Least we will have Wolfenstein, rage 2 and fallout 76.
The no NPC’s kills me, it just takes away from the game. Yes the game is 25 years after the bombs drop but damn that enhances the story. I feel playing Solo your experience will suffer greatly. No raiders? Only Players is a bad decision
I agree, I can’t wrap my head around a fallout game with no npc’s. Even if you had NPC’s that were unkillable so it wouldn’t affect an online type game would of been a better option
lunaris69 same I absolutely love elder scrolls and fallout games and their RPG elements and quests and world and NPCs and dialogue and making it online focused destroys everything Bethesda games are amazing at
Is there a sinister reason as to why this is? we know people survived the intial attacks but why is west virginia only inhabited by the mutant scum until our vault opens? especially since it's a fairly lush region when compared to others.
Starfield gets announced on E3 2020 alongside Xbox X/ PS5, release date around november 2020 TES6 gets announced around E3 2022 alongside xbox x ps5 pro
RustySacks Well, time will tell my friend. I get what you mean, it might of just been a sweet little lie to get more people into it. Hopefully he'll keep to his word though
Add to that - No MOD until way later .. and then based on a vague promised and probably only curated MODS. No VATS - their no slow down body part selecting option is NOT VATS, it is voluntary suicide in the midst of a fight. No companions .. which is even more important than NPCs - and no companion quests. No overarching campaign that will allow us to change the game world permanently - since Always online Multiplayer game cannot close access to any quests to other players. So it is an utter piece of junk. Yes they should have just done a full Single player game with coop option.
Chang Fong Chua - Takes awhile in every Betsheda game until they release their official modding tool. Thats one reason why modding in Betsheda titles are great.
No surprise given Covid happened, and Bethesda usually takes a long time. Starfield would have released year according to Phil Spencer if Bethesda weren't bought out by MS.
Max Pendlebury well the little bits are annoying enough, plus cant wait to jump outside just to meet a group of ppl with mirv fat man's... I still dont see happieness with forced online, and 0 ai npc's... Ill stick to solo campaign focus..
Well as in all things in life there are winners and losers. We all cant get what we want and I'm gonna give it a go just because its a Fallout game which is what I am sure they were counting on happening
Yea never know, didn't you see the teaser thing they did where they responded to a fan who posted on Reddit. I mean I was not really expecting Todd to see this but if he is reading this "come on man really, could you not have found a way to give online experience and a true single player to those who wanted that??"
Why are so many people self entitled into thinking every game should be made specifically for them? 76 is a spin-off game where Bethesda is experimenting to see how things work and to see what comes of it. This is not for those who want a singleplayer experience. I am REALLY excited for 76 and to patrol the wasteland with my squad. This is something I've always wanted out of Fallout. If you want a singleplayer Fallout, wait for Fallout 5.
Yeah, I totally agree. They wanted to try something new and a Fallout spinoff seems like a good place to do it. I would much rather have single player BGS games but they have a right to experiment as a developer.
SWATGTR you mean all you have to do is wait for something to come out? Man that must be tough. I wonder what they will put out in the meantime to fund the game you want.....
I play Fallout so I can use my double barrel shotgun and feel like a badass. but with the new Fallout 76 I'm going to have to look like a walking frigerator with an oversized gun and hearing smack from a 10 year old yeah. I really hope that at least make some update to it.
"Our fans, they find a lot of things we're doing, and they wanna know, and so we just talked about it, like, let's just be up-front and say here's what we're doing, because we're excited about it, and we think all our fans are as well, so, it was, let's just get it all out there and let everyone know what we're doing." Oh really, Todd? Up-front? You couldn't even answer question one correctly.. "First, of course you can play this solo, alright?..Like previous Fallouts, you can play this game solo and quest" ... The question on the forums was in regard to a single player mode. Solo is not the same thing, as you've finally capitulated and made clear, though you didn't want to for some reason, I'm guessing because the fans WERE NOT excited about that aspect.. Previous Fallouts did not subject you to other players and their play styles by default, Todd... they were offline.. And then about the PvP in the follow up interview.. "Even if you're playing by yourself, you will see other players. You can interact with them or you can ignore them." ... Yeah! Just IGNORE the NUKES other players rain down upon you, mhm. "Host: So, it's always PvP? Todd: Wellllll..." .. "Host: So you can pick, it's like I don't want PvP? Todd: Welllll..." lolllll Up-front and out in the open. XD
Todd howard is the man... This is the best game director, you see his passion for games in his games. Like ken levine in bioshock 1. Fallout 4 is a great example. For this small amount of money you get an awesome game with tonnes of content and possibilitys. Thanks todd and your team.
In the most recent video he said that there will be on offline mode when it is released, but there will be one eventually. Unless Todd Howard did a more recent interview I haven't noticed.
What they really need to do is introduce a system which gives players a sort of reputation level. For example, let's say Player A is aggressive and engages in combat regularly without being provoked. They will then gain a negative reputation, resulting in the next time they log in to the game they are placed in a server with players with similar reputation. By not engaging in combat for a certain amount of time you could gain reputation, or by trading etc. Obviously it would be quite hard to get out of a negative reputation lobby, so maybe in negative reputation servers it is a lot easier to gain positive reputation and after a certain period of time Player A would have there negative rep reduced, let's say every 30 mins. This would mean it would be possible to redeem yourself and get out of a aggressive lobby, and would also mostly protect passive players so they can enjoy playing co-op and building settlements without being in fear of being constantly attacked. Edit: And for aggressive players who do actually care about reasons for attacking players, as well as -rep they also don't earn caps and less resources from killing people presuming you drop some loot, as it appears you collect resources from the trailer.
This game is not aimed at the traditional OG Bethesda community, I've been supporting them since daggerfall this is obviously 100% just a quick cash grab for them you could feel throughout the whole conference this was Bethesdas greed year : (
Im happy with this because this is probably the last fallout we will get for a long while because of star field and elder scrolls and how a online game will most likely get more support as time goes on like with elder scrolls online
Every npc is a real player huh... So 4 years from now I wont be able to replay huh cause the player base would have left the game and therefore no NPCs
"We don't want it to be griefy" - Todd Howard in this interview "We give you access to nuclear missiles and let you wreck havoc on areas of the map" - Todd Howard E3 Ohhhkay.
Nuclear missiles are going to be mainly used for resources in this game not for killing people. Killing people with a missile is a waste. Keep in mind the map is 4x the size of fallout 4s and there’s 30-40 people per map. You won’t even be able to find anyone to use a missile on.
I think Fallout 76 might have to be a pass for me. No NPCs, no characters to become endeared to, no draw to the world for me. Hopefully Fallout 5 is a return to form.
Private servers, Mod support.. that's all i needed to hear.. I'm gonna be happy to create my own private server by myself or a friend and explore this huge map, i'm suprisingly exictied.
You willing to pay $20 a month like all the other survival games private servers and all the mods only downloadable from there Creation Club that you'll need to pay for?
William Murphy First of all.. creation club is a form of mini dlc, mods are not. And todd said MODS not creation club content. Second servers could simply be hosted on your own that way we wouldn't pay for them.. why the negativity? Atleast we're getting mods and private servers plus its a spin off game so who cares
Only because everytime they mentioned mods before the Creation Club fiasco they called "mini dlc" mods If they added an offline play Like Conan Exiles or Ark where I can run my own server without paying for there servers that's cool, They have stated no offline play and that means you will not be running your own server because that could be offline via LAN. So the only other thing that troubles me would be, If this makes more than Fallout 4 they will put all their money into making more games like this and abandon single-player altogether, Much like how Blizzard quit making RTS games because WOW was more profitable. Im not really being negative I do like survival pvp games like Conan Exiles.
Griefing is my biggest concern with FO76. Glad they're trying to address it, although I suspect the only way to really cut it off is simply to allow players to opt out of PVP.
Im sure they'll have a grouping system like destiny 2 had. And even when destiny 1 was alive people would find ways to group online, it's not that hard to find people, it's only hard when you make it hard for yourself.
So got some questions 1. How will Jet work 2.when will the Beta come out 3. will you be able to just move your base around the map 4. What happens if you change server and they've got another thing there like nuke hole or other base 5 how much will collector's cost 6 will beta be free or what
You can't have bad dialogues, if there's no dialogue.
Yeah, so much for quests via NPC interactions. I guess Bethesda saved time and money by reducing NPC vocal AI and subsequent quests.
subject_17 lol
Hopefully gives the writers more time for starfield and es6
"Whoops, let me try that one again"
its ok ill be there to tell you " a settlement needs your help"
That's a nice looking table. I like that table.
I know!
ok,no one cares table lover
I love table.
Apparently, 50 other people care for table lovers.
I want to have sex with that table
This was a great interview, Geoff was really on point with the great questions
That little smile he has? That is years of training
Hides_From_Sun It really was, he's the only person asking the questions we actually want to know
Exactly, I think pretty much all of those questions were key points that the fans wanted information on. Geoff did a great job
Indeed, my fellow argonian. He's really good!
Eric B. Ahh, good to talk to a fellow saxhleel. A shame we cannot return to Black Marsh yet, I long to see the Hist once more
My beef with multiplayer is that I cant get a nice experience because people dont let me. Single player leaves a footprint for years no doubt.
Right? Everyone has different playing styles, so I can see a lot of people wanting to do different things at once and then getting on each other's nerves because they can't agree on what to do.

YES. I CAN WITHSTAND THE WAIT WITH A PROJECTED DATE.
Shift both of those down 2 years and yeah
😅 lmao Elder Scrolls 6 2023 at the earliest!
Please place me in cryosleep until the release day.

Well lets just pretend for now that it's just fallout with more intelligent raiders.
Yeah I’m kinda on the edge about the whole multiplayer online experience
It sucks to say but this possibly could be the last fallout
Interplay was going to make a fallout mmo how would you feel about that
People grief because they have fun griefing. Tuning incentives will not help, lol. You are assuming the griefers care about progression and experiences more than griefing. 9/10 times they just feel like ruining someone's days.

LethalWalou from what I heard in another video talking about 76, there will only be 30 players per server.
Geoff is the best in the business and has been for over a decade. Glad he's still around.
During the presentation: You can play solo!
*pre-orders 300 dollary doo power armor edition*
During the interview: Can you play offline? No!
*cancels pre-order*
yeah that was a bad move from todd
Yeah they always use buzz words
To be fair, he could have always said offline.
No Gravitas he literally said it’s always online but you can play by yourself. That’s your own fault for not listening. There were no buzzwords or PR bullshit there, it was VERY clear.
Unfortunately "solo" and "offline" have two very different meanings :(
That crater seen in the cinematic trailer for TES 6 is telling of Hammerfell!
Isn't hammerfell where the redguards are from ? Aren't they a bit like arabs? Wow that would suck.
Stona Raptor Redguards are the last to fight Thalmor, why is it such a problem if they are a bit Arablike?
No humans survived? Pre war ghouls? Nobody remembers Underworld F03. I get they wanna be successful, but ask Disney what happens when you curb stomp your fan base
GAMEPLAY:RUST
FIELD:FALLOUT
SYSTEM:GTAV ONLINE
깔 깔 it’s nothing like rust though
A great interviewer and a great developer
Zbriu
, how are they not a great developer?
Zbriu im always drinking. Cheers to Godd Howard!
I forgot to add that i have very little interest in Fallout 76 from what ive seen so far. But I cant deny how much i enjoyed the Elder Scrolls Series and Bethesda's take on Fallout through 3 to 4.
great businessman more like
+Zbriu
F76 is just a spin-off, genius, nobody is forcing u to play it.
Great interview Geoff. This cleared up my lingering questions on Fallout 76
Todd Howard saying “Alexa play Skyrim” actually caused my Alexa to boot it up. He is literally infiltrating our homes phonetically to make us play Skyrim.
Lol haha
I love Todd Howard. He has always made me happy with the games.
Then you better buy only when they release these features. Learn from all the elders ... do not count your eggs before they hatched.
*salutes* Yes Sir!
Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies
Online only.... nope.
Charles Stewart Cool dude.
You dont have to play with others.
You do, you'll bump into them in the world and they'll likely shoot you on sight so yes, you DO have to play with others.
Joey Lock Did you not hear him say you can turn PVP off
lmao when did he say that? I didn't hear him once say you could turn it off, only that they were tweaking it to find the best way to make players not feel griefed on
why cant we play without other player becouse 95% of people i meet in games would i never ever want to play with again. So just let us play solo and offline
pc master race it’s called make friends in real life you loser.
yeah but when theres no server browser you cant decide who you play so your stuck with what ever idiots happens to be on the server youre stuck on
But you can play solo.
Milk Man no you can't. Playing "solo" means you don't have to play with friends, however random players will still join your server.
If you actually watched the video Todd said they were going to implement private servers.
The no NPCs thing is threatening this game SO f*cking much. Let´s wait. I understand the world is not full of people because is really close to the nukes but some NPCs from the vault would come handy... I don´t know. Risky decision.
you can't have a RGG without NPCs, it's as simple as that
mattmark94 this isnt an rpg tho
It does have NPCs
7:33 Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies
I wished disliking a comment actually did something
Starfield is playable ? Oh my god. I hope we get more on this game by next year im hyped.
i'm thinking if everything goes REEEEALLY smoothly starfield would be 2019 and es6 prob around 2021
Expect TES6 to drop 3-4 years after Starfield.
lol i know it was just wishful thinking dude not an actual estimate
i'm saying absolute best case scenario, ie preproduction is near the very end and they can start actual development within this year, then take 3 years to develop (2019 2020 2021) and we get it near the end of 2021
also there's nothing to suggest that they only just started full production on starfield lmao, they recently got a new studio that they put to working on fallout 76. the rest of their studios very easily could have been working on starfield at the same time dude
This comment is funny in 2021
Amazing how fast people can go from having no idea a game even exists to feeling cheated that it's not exactly what they want.
Bethesda dangled the metaphorical carrot of a new fallout game. They did not give us a new Fallout game.. They gave us a Fallout style GTA online clone. I dont look forward to bethesda's equivalent of shark cards.
JackAttackimations same.
JackAttackimations oh yeah u being mad is gonna make Bethesda cancel the game and make a whole brand new one
We want what we want and it’s our money FIRST.
I've only just come across this guy (interviewer), but he's already one of my favourite interviewers. You don't get that awkwardness that comes from trying too hard and he asks precise, brilliant questions.
Can't have a bad story if you don't have story at all, right, Todd?
But it does have a story, ffs. He already confirmed it.
@@Dark0pz Boy your commend did not age well
iglidor Why?
No NPC's nor private rooms... That's fun for that brutal eve market but the Single Player blanket won't come out.
Single players will run away
There will be private rooms after the launch. 9:28
AFter a LONG LONG TIME. based on a vague promise. Not banking on it.
there's ac Odyssey this year, and probably cyberpunk next year. Starfield in 2020.. We have plenty to do til then haha
Nope .. not even banking of Starfield as I have lost my faith in Bethesda.
No thanks.
David Sullivan Reddit forums for various franchises have plenty of people who want to build friend groups for MP stuff. It's not that hard.
I prefer single player games.
I concur, I spend enough of my time dealing with other sacks of sentient meat.
Better save about 300 if you ever want to play the whole game. He said they would be 'constantly putting out new content'. Which means a buttload of dlc's or ingame transactions.
So 60 for the bare bones game and then 100+ for the rest.
So even seeing another player ruins your experience? I think it's time to get off your comfort-zone.
Thank you Todd for the memories and the future you have paved for these video games. Thank God for the talent these people have been blessed with. Video games have been my favorite hobby since I was 3 years old. I am 27 now. I know he said starfield and tes 6 will be next gen...but I still have trouble waiting. At Least we will have Wolfenstein, rage 2 and fallout 76.
this didnt age well
The no NPC’s kills me, it just takes away from the game. Yes the game is 25 years after the bombs drop but damn that enhances the story. I feel playing Solo your experience will suffer greatly. No raiders? Only Players is a bad decision
seriously, as if NO one is alive besides vault dwellers? what a joke
Yup, totally against the previous lore
I agree, I can’t wrap my head around a fallout game with no npc’s. Even if you had NPC’s that were unkillable so it wouldn’t affect an online type game would of been a better option
What about codsworth who talks to you
its a spin-off genus, they're still continuing the FO franchise
Me and my group of friends have been waiting for a Fallout 76 style game for YEARS. I can't wait for it!
wow, i've never been so utterly unhyped for a fallout game
lunaris69 :(
lunaris69 same I absolutely love elder scrolls and fallout games and their RPG elements and quests and world and NPCs and dialogue and making it online focused destroys everything Bethesda games are amazing at
Wut....Fallout 76 sounds awesome,WHATCHYA TALKIN' BOUT HMMMMMMMMM?????????????????????????????????????
No NPCs, this is not a fallout game.
i agree
There are NPCs lol
Is there a sinister reason as to why this is? we know people survived the intial attacks but why is west virginia only inhabited by the mutant scum until our vault opens? especially since it's a fairly lush region when compared to others.
_InsertNameHere_ only robots. no people. he said it.
No there isn't.
Note comment 3:58 about Starfield as "playable" as of June 2018.
Starfield gets announced on E3 2020 alongside Xbox X/ PS5, release date around november 2020
TES6 gets announced around E3 2022 alongside xbox x ps5 pro
So in the future you can have a private server that you can mod? That sounds alright, need some more information on that though
He said it will be post launch so yeah we have to wait after launch
Hides_From_Sun I doubt he'll be able to keep that promise
RustySacks Well, time will tell my friend. I get what you mean, it might of just been a sweet little lie to get more people into it. Hopefully he'll keep to his word though
Hides_From_Sun h
Yh il download 1 mod just to play with friends/solo
I’m looking forward to this
if they would have just skipped Fallout 76 and worked on the rest instead, it all could have been so amazing...
i legit got a doritos ad before this video
No NPC's
No Offline
No Single Player
What even is this game?!?! Why couldn't they just do CO OP.
Chang Fong Chua
Hahaha stfu
Chang Fong Chua - Takes awhile in every Betsheda game until they release their official modding tool. Thats one reason why modding in Betsheda titles are great.
O trigger you poor snowflake with nothing to contribute. You simply expose your inferiority complex with your mindless comments.
Even then, it is usually not that long. And there is no way they are not curating the MODS in an always online game .. which to me is a big no no.
Absolutely amazing interviewed. Asked all the questions I wanted answers to basically. I think we might see starfield next year
This aged like milk
Todd always comes across so well.
He hit the nail on the head with the questions
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no HUMAN npcs, rip story.
JabbaWabba there’s no HUMAN npcs. There are still NPCs. Learn to listen.
I know that, stop making assumptions.
No your dumb!
No your dumb!
Timetodiddl I hope you are joking, your comments even edited it must be a joke.
@JabbaWabba
"I know that, stop making assumptions" you just said there are no NPCs. You're the only one who made an assumption
it's been 5 years and Starfield isn't out yet and TES6 is still in pre production
No surprise given Covid happened, and Bethesda usually takes a long time. Starfield would have released year according to Phil Spencer if Bethesda weren't bought out by MS.
The sweet little...
Stop. Get some help.
I bet you can't make a fallout game worse than fallout 4.
Bethesda: hold my beer.
Gav_LCFC fallout 4 was one of my favorite games I mean it wasn't the greatest fallout ever but it was still really fun
A Bcd thats a really bad opinion
Fallout tactics is worse.
Ras Right? No one who has played New Vegas would say that.
I dont think the Fallout franchise is for you....
A problem with it being online fully is when eventually the servers are turned off, the game cannot be played ever again and it's lost.
Benbo246 even worse is "griefing" think about that.. No buy thus time.
I’m so glad someone mentioned this!
V4YGR3 he has said that the griefing is minimal and they can’t destroy everything
Max Pendlebury well the little bits are annoying enough, plus cant wait to jump outside just to meet a group of ppl with mirv fat man's...
I still dont see happieness with forced online, and 0 ai npc's...
Ill stick to solo campaign focus..
don't forget the monthly subscription fee plus paid mods
Funny how TES VI will be releasing 8 or 9 years after this interview.
Ehh try 10
A lot of your fans are very unhappy Todd. I'm sure you knew that.
I'm sure Todd is reading these comments ::thum
Well as in all things in life there are winners and losers. We all cant get what we want and I'm gonna give it a go just because its a Fallout game which is what I am sure they were counting on happening
Yea never know, didn't you see the teaser thing they did where they responded to a fan who posted on Reddit. I mean I was not really expecting Todd to see this but if he is reading this "come on man really, could you not have found a way to give online experience and a true single player to those who wanted that??"
JP Stone and ALOT of them are HAPPY. I love single player Fallout but I’ve always wanted an online one and this is perfect.
I’m not mad, just mildly upset
Thank you so much for making this game online. This is sooo cool!
But if it's different from the last game, I can't complain about it being the same as the last game! D8
Someone with sense
Yeah, I totally agree. They wanted to try something new and a Fallout spinoff seems like a good place to do it. I would much rather have single player BGS games but they have a right to experiment as a developer.
That’s fair. I mean 10 years isn’t THAT long to wait, right?
SWATGTR you mean all you have to do is wait for something to come out? Man that must be tough. I wonder what they will put out in the meantime to fund the game you want.....
Thanks for getting clarification!
*16 TIMES THE DETAIL*
Bring on the drama can’t wait for this game
I play Fallout so I can use my double barrel shotgun and feel like a badass. but with the new Fallout 76 I'm going to have to look like a walking frigerator with an oversized gun and hearing smack from a 10 year old yeah. I really hope that at least make some update to it.
I REALLY like Todd Howard.
We gotta have an offline option
That's not going to happen since they didn't plan any other content.
There will be a private option after launch
Rip. Theres no hope for offline Sorry u have no Internet
Dopeiest Thyme he probably means you can't play it solo
no, he said you can play it solo. But he said you CANT play offline. Just watch the damn video...
Todd never lied here. You guys need to apologies. Starfield is in fact, in space.
Saves me 60 dollars to spend on a good game, at least.
predictions:
20-2-20 - Starfield
22-2-22 - TES6
25-2-25 - FO5
Care to take a second guess?
I reckon:
Starfield 2021
ES6 2024
Fallout 5: 2028
Obsidian:
Avowed 2023
Todd... Buddy... No Solo... Come On... LONE wanderer.
seriously the 'lone wanderer' is concretely the theme of the series.... yet this is a 100% online game. Yikes
Derek Woods well you can still be a lone wanderer, you don't have to team up
people are a bit slow it seems... he clearly stated you can play the game solo.
In the most recent video he said that there will be on offline mode when it is released, but there will be one eventually. Unless Todd Howard did a more recent interview I haven't noticed.
Lone Wanderer just means you wander alone. It doesnt mean offline
5:48
That awkward flirting part lol
Lol 🤣😅
One of the VERY few standup guys and companies in the industry
I gotta applaud them for wanting to make game more hated than Fallout4
Dont buy it then
Let's face it fallout 4 was just a playtest for the building system.
This game is not aimed at the traditional OG Bethesda community, I've been supporting them since daggerfall this is obviously 100% just a quick cash grab for them you could feel throughout the whole conference this was Bethesdas greed year : (
Sarcasticman69 How is this a cash grab? Because YOU didn’t get what YOU wanted? Grow up.
Yes, how dare they try something new. The fans wanting exactly the same game every iteration.
this guy is a good game host.. a good medium between presentable and actually being interested in gaming
Oh? Online only? No thanks.
Oh man. I’m so excited!!! This sounds insanely fun
Im happy with this because this is probably the last fallout we will get for a long while because of star field and elder scrolls and how a online game will most likely get more support as time goes on like with elder scrolls online
Evan Robles i have a good feeling starfield will be mind blowing.
ah, i just love it when another wave of todd howard interviews hit youtube XD
Every npc is a real player huh... So 4 years from now I wont be able to replay huh cause the player base would have left the game and therefore no NPCs
C'mon everybody has got to love Todd
"We don't want it to be griefy" - Todd Howard in this interview
"We give you access to nuclear missiles and let you wreck havoc on areas of the map" - Todd Howard E3
Ohhhkay.
#FuckPlayer1 #GetMoney #MultiplayerBandwagon #FortniteShouldBeOURbrand #Sorry #2muchMoney2PassUp #But #WeStillLoveOurCoreFans #Starfield #ElderScrollsVI
Max pendlebury #ThankYouSir #MayIHaveAnother?
Nuclear missiles are going to be mainly used for resources in this game not for killing people. Killing people with a missile is a waste. Keep in mind the map is 4x the size of fallout 4s and there’s 30-40 people per map. You won’t even be able to find anyone to use a missile on.
I’m going to love Fallout 76!
Do you now lol??????
Damien Demers NO IM NOT 😂
I think they’re trying to go for a Destiny/Souls online experience but going about it the wrong way with no NPC interactions or no Offline mode.
i love todd howard so much
thankyou. im not going to buy this game.
Razoo I am more fun for me.
I am .. but I’m not sure I won’t regret it so maybe I’ll wait a couple week after release
He'll buy it
At least Todd is very forthright with his answers and isn't afraid to talk about things his fans don't like. I respect them for trying something new.
Clyde don’t let these kids brainwash you, it’s a fallout game, why would you regret it? I’m so hyped lmao
It just works!
I think Fallout 76 might have to be a pass for me. No NPCs, no characters to become endeared to, no draw to the world for me. Hopefully Fallout 5 is a return to form.
Hey I'm from the future. FO5 won't be around until the 2030's. Sorry mate. Also there's a global pandemic and we're on the brink of WWIII.
*Really great interview!*
Private Servers, I can roll with that.
Geoff had some pretty good fanboy moments haha. Great interview!
Private servers, Mod support.. that's all i needed to hear.. I'm gonna be happy to create my own private server by myself or a friend and explore this huge map, i'm suprisingly exictied.
Alien Alien "Mod support" Having a friend and making quest mods with npcs.. so no.. and still there is quests and robots that give away quests
I am actually so hyped for this, should be a good game to play with friends, thank god
What if you got no friends? or friends that doesn't wanna be bothered playing with you.. that sucks..
Mr3w then make friends
if u live in Europe you can join us me and 2 of my friends, btw if you play on PC
Im sure they'll have a grouping system like destiny 2 had. And even when destiny 1 was alive people would find ways to group online, it's not that hard to find people, it's only hard when you make it hard for yourself.
I know i always wanted 2 play fallout 4 and skyrim with my friends now me and my bff can do that i am so happy
I really hope the ragdoll physics is still there. That's part of the fun when I play Fallout.
WTF TODD READS OUR POSTS?
So got some questions
1. How will Jet work
2.when will the Beta come out
3. will you be able to just move your base around the map
4. What happens if you change server and they've got another thing there like nuke hole or other base
5 how much will collector's cost
6 will beta be free or what
One more
Will this game just be chaos with people raiding and destroying
Beta is not free, you have to pre-order
i play console offline, thanks for ruining that for me todd
Ginger2Rocker how do you update your game then
You don’t need to
RECR Calibur you don’t need to
RECR Calibur dont have to
Ginger2Rocker you don’t have to update a Bethesda game? What are you high?
Todd Howard looks like Michael Scott from the office. He looks and TALKS like him.
Good, off title idea. I have faith they’ll be able to execute something fun and enjoyable, even if its not in the spirit of fallout.
Todd is bae
