Despite what F76 is i'm excited to see what this studio does with ES6 and Starfield.
Spoilers, its cash shop with lots and lots of microtransactions
@@MechaStuzila I doubt it but we'll see.
I hope you're right. I really really do, but after the way they've pushed the cash shop in 76 and built Blades to be completely driven by microtransactions it's making me extremely apprehensive
MechaStuzilla same here. For me it started with fallout 4. The dlc was ridiculous. I didn’t even bother with fallout 76.
Very happy people are now seeing Howard as the spin doctor he is.
Hey Todd!!
ಠ╭╮ಠ
Lord Baelish funny story actually....last year I went to martial university and Bethesda was supposed to show up.....I was gonna give em what we all thought.....they didn’t show up so I couldn’t give em a piece of our mind ;-;

Excellent work as always, Ryan. Todd really comes across as being one of the most genuine creators in games.
On 76: "There were a lot of people working from Austin and Montreal, they've done a really incredible job with the game."
42:20 that noo tho😂
Hey, to those of you disliking the video because of fallout 76, the only person you are hurting here is Ryan. You are misplacing your anger.
James Lane that’s what he gets for asking softball questions, shoulda ripped him a new a-hole
@@KHII Think about it for a second, If he "ripped him a new a hole" how many more of these interviews do you think game developers would sign on to do? He asked about the fallout 76 launch in a professional and cordial manner as I would expect from someone like Ryan.
I'm still super excited for ES6!

That's has literally no baring on what I said at all.
@@tsmith8082 Why did you even reply to me?
FLGSC games have bugs, Bethesda lifts their games hood and sees a lot of bugs in their engine
Skyrim was the first game I played. Granted, I was only 9 at the time (of its release) I’m 17 now and still enjoy playing it occasionally ~ while thinking about the eternity of a wait for ES 6 ~
Bethesda usually does take there time but it's almost always worth the wait.
Really enjoyed this interview. Not a Fallout fan, so the whole 76 thing is a blip on my radar, but I strongly suspect it's merely a testing ground for multiplayer in Bethesda worlds. Greatly looking forward to Starfield and Elders Scrolls 6. I want another just-stepped-out-of-the-dungeon-into-the-Oblivion-world moment! Still one of the greatest in my 30+ years gaming. Bring it, Todd!
Yeah, 76 became a bit of a meme, and got pretty overblown for what was really just a little offshoot spin-off experiment..

People in the comments really think Todd is responsible for everything Bethesda does
hes the game director, overseeing everything. so yeah him and a couple of other people are responsible. Im sure the word director is hard for you to understand considering your intelligence

He is correct😂 fallout 76 is still broken today.

Great video Ryan! Your interviewing skills are top-notch as always! Todd has a really interesting story and he's certainly one of the most open and public-facing gaming executives out there. No one is perfect, but at least Todd is willing to talk!
I'm sorry this comment section is filled with a lot of immature people who are only here for new game details or explanations about games they don't like. Go watch other interviews with the heads of huge game studios/publishers...oh wait...no other executives are brave enough to give long form interviews like this.
Thanks Todd, looking forward to e3!!!

I wish more people would give 76 an honest chance. It has a ton to offer, especially if you enjoyed FO4, and you can _easily_ dump a few hundred enjoyable hours into it.
Too many people are mindless sheep and give the game unwarranted hate without even trying it for themselves.
Battlefront 2 was great and updated gretly free still around the web hate going. So fallout 76 no chance at all. No question about the canvas bags they promised to ship in 4-6 months? 6 months ending in about 1 week. And no word of that yet. Wonder if the great canvas shortage of 2018 is still in effect.
Todd’s not anywhere close to in charge of that.
@@videobeetle8 He would certainly know about it, and saying he's nowhere close implies he has nothing to do with being in charge of Bethesda.
@@DivinityOfBLaze No he wouldn't. Why would someone as a director of the Maryland studios know about the outsourcing of Canvas bags which is obviously manufactured not even by Bethesda? It's down to whomever Bethesda and I'm not talking about Todd's studio i'm talking about Bethesda the publisher, would only know who is in charge of contractually manufacturing the canvas bags.
Blade Mckenzie because it’s related to your products bundle, and could actually cause a lawsuit to your company, not the manufacturer. That’s why he should know
He should have said saddle up instead of buckle up when talking about the horse armor.

Todd is great.
He's not the man behind the Elder Scrolls series and the Fallout series. Both were created by different people. Todd has simple been making games for both IPs in the past years, but he didn't create any of them.
