La2, the second official Spanish TV channel, has some of the best live jazz recordings, as this concert attests. This Überjam lineup has never been recorded/mixed/filmed as well as here imho. Great tune and playing by everyone btw. Masterful use of reverse looping by Sco here.
Fantastic sound and camera work. Thanks to bobylyn for posting, to whatever organization recorded this. Sco fans are really lucky to have a number of really high quality performances (from many phases of his career) at our fingertips on youtube. Sure is different from what's available for Django Reindhardt and Charlie Christian!
With all the advances in technology ,here we are with a fifties designed fender telecaster ,a precision bass and a strat ,,it just doesn't get to sound any better
I actually prefer his tele tone. I mean I love Sco on any guitar. I just think it brings out his little snaps and it's smooth and edgy at the same time.
Maybe Sco should always play a tele. I had one of the Yamaha guitars like the one Sco usually plays. The guitar was beautiful, great neck. Only problem was it sounded like doodoo. The only tone came from the strings and none from the body itself. As much as I love Sco's playing and harmonic ideas, his usual sound is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
This Tele sounds like Sco to me . Just a bit lighter and brighter. I don't think his tone is bad usually though. I like it . Compared to the muffled jazz sound some others get
Scofield is so original.
Scofield ages just like good wine! Wiser choice of notes and great tone. That’s really inspiring
El sonido Scofield ya es marca registrada reconocible. Grande maestro 👌🎶🎸👏
thats the coolest drummer I ever saw and heard.........
Man, Sco sounds pretty damn good on this one. Cool tune, and that tele sounds unreal
The more Scofield with a Tele, the better - Awesome!
I lvove your sound on the Telecaster it's just fantastic the groove you create with it is awesome!

Festival de Jazz de Donostia-San Sebastian. North of Spain, in the Basque Country. Wonderful city to visit
Ssmmmooooooooth! Love it!
John sounds beautiful with that tele :)
I think Sco could make even a Dean sound good. That tele tone....

Actually, it's an Ibanez Silver Series from the lawsuit era, the 70's.
@@domagojleljak737 which pickup position is he using? I can't tell lol
@@alvarolblanco middle position but it almost sounds like it's in series not the usual parallel.
The Guitar Rhythm is so Awesome
