I know of a couple of good M20 2.5 885 cylinder heads. That pump in the blue 525i bought the Titanic a lot of time and shifted a lot of sea water. I approve of the level of swearing as well - one finds it fully encapsulates the dramas of rescuing an E34 that's been bodged from arsehole to breakfast time. 11/10 WUD WATCH AGAIN The rear arm links are called pitman arms, dog bones. @@Joshwaa___ They belong to a mate - they've been off the car for years. M20 heads normally crack under the cam so that coolant escapes under pressure through the coolant gallery underneath into the engine oil creating the shitty mayo mess. I've never seen one with coolant coming past the spark plug threads though. 😮
Part of my daily activities involves getting Old Mercs recommissioned .I have a distinct hatred for after market alarms, DIY remote central locking , old phone connections and ethanol fuels which really do melt fuel lines.
Came over from watching your work on Taylor's E28. Loving learning what's involved in bringing these cars back and looking forward to any future vids like this!
I love the look of the E34s, the Touring especially, though the rot underneath definitely gives me pause for thought! Used to live near a 520i in Mineral Blue, which I thought was a fantastic-looking car but I was committed to the 3 Series from E30 to E46. Have a G30 now but would definitely like to revisit some of the 5s I missed, with the E28 and E34 being top of the list.
Love to see old bmw content. Would do rear subframe bushings in all of the e34's even if it looks like they don't need it, cause they'll all be rooted.
Try the little black box on the air box too my E28 m10 engine used to need a tap here n there as the spring underneath sometime stuck ..... there's like a potentiometer underneath which sometimes slips off the end
Use realoem for finding part numbers. Stick your vin number in and will give exploded diagrams of everything and cross reference to any other models that use the same. Life saver for a bmw mechanic
Nice vid Josh. Over here in ireland theyd be looking for a fortune for totally rotten worn out cars. You've probably scrapped better!! I will be following along for sure!
@@Joshwaa___ I dunno about that Josh. Some of them need a total rebuild after spinning around a cone for nights on end. The road tax over here is another stumbling block on the older stuff. €1800 for a years rent on a 3 litre! Once it hits 30 years old tho its only €56 for the year regardless. I'll stick with me CLK for now I think. I love that car man!
Good Evening Josh. Thank you for sharing your Excellent video. These BMW's will be a must watch with each vehicle. each vehicle does have it's own Character and Personality. It is such a really Good German engineering and Quality. Very Good Engines and these Beautiful vehicles were built to last. In it's day this Incredible vehicle was rather a Luxurious and all the Executive Comforts of a German Businessman. This will be a really Great Journey for who ever wants to watch your Professional and Top Quality video's. Well Done Josh.. 😃😃😃🤓🤓🤓🤓💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@Joshwaa___ of course it was. Absolutely fantastic haul of classic beamers with so much potential. You got them all running which was brilliant!😀. Can’t wait y to see more vids on these and other projects. Thanks for great content.
Wat a nightmare at both ends of the I've never seen crap like that before in a petrol tank and I felt sorry josh with that wireing shame about the head gasket as it sounds nice but could be a crack in the head never seen water come out of plugs before I will still weld up the touring it had a good spark 😂🤣 and it runs and drives well the 36 is in amazing underneath you landed up with the good one depending on what you paid for all of them you will make your money back and make a profit 👍
@@Joshwaa___ gorgeous looking wheel tho. I was going to try and get them converted to 2 piece but no where in Ireland does that and would have been a fortune to send it to the uk

Lewis repping the arrival top - Nice vid again Josh! good to see them running you two are jokes together!
Hahaha, keep all my old work gear to work on stuff in!
Nice work gentleman, you definitely scored with these. That e36 is mint and the others are not bad at all.
E36 is so good right!
Superb to see the E34's again. Bit of TLC and they'll all be dependable workhorses.
Nothing we can’t sort!
Excited about the E24 build and all the rest of BMW content. Keep it coming 👌

That e34 touring is sick. Definitely worth putting the work in! Love the videos, man! From a fellow welder 👨🏭

Great video gents!! Gorgeous motors!!

5 Minutes in and we are already in "Oh My God" overload
Great video Josh. You should Dry ice the E36. It would look amazing 😳. What machine !!
it’s a shame it’s got a couple ding and scratches on the body, because it would be the perfect candidate!!
Love to see old bmw content. Would do rear subframe bushings in all of the e34's even if it looks like they don't need it, cause they'll all be rooted.
the touring actually came with powerflex bushes inside as it failed its last mot on them!

Still would like the 525i fixed up this car is a gem.Great video from gold coast Australia 🇦🇺
Aus viewer! thankyou!
I’m no Beemer fan but between you and Taylor… I’m getting converted into BM oldies!
it’s a horrible life choice, it’s a trap…
The suspension bits are casually referred to as dogbones
That make of BMW 520 I head gasket fails and head cracks
so nice beard!
E36 is mint, they really need a Supercharger though. The Estate needs a better engine. 1.8's in one of these are way to slow but does look slow.
Those little links on the suspension are called pitman arms or a rear 'dogbone'
thankyou!!
20:57 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
bedding her in
Great job bro easy as 1 2 3 😂
easy 🤣
E34 / e39 / e 46 still some of the most beautiful cars made.
Agreed
Great video
Thanks!
Looks better than the 535 my dad parked on its nose 😂
oh wow hahaha
Did you wash the enginebay? Maybe sparkplug holes are just filled with water.. blow them dry and everything will be fine with the mighty m20.
we didn’t wash the engine itself! it was still super pressurised instantly too!
great to see beemer videos
Look at all this twist and tape rubbish... Also Lewis 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dw I’m repairing that properly, just stuck it together to make it work for now 😂
Check out m539, great old bmw content
Hi josh cool video I notice you like formula one, so do I who is your favourite driver
I do! it’s hard to say who my favourite driver is, maybe lando or charles!
do video`s on the touring as well
of course!

we will defo make a profit i recon! the e36 alone is fantastic!!
More rusty beemers!
my favourite…
Pitman arms for the links on the rear suspension.
thankyou!
Buy a used E34 loom and just swap out the immobiliser.
They are known as 'Dogbones'
Believe those are metric wheels on the first e34. Fucking nightmare getting tires. Ran them for a bit on a e30
proper shit ain’t they! we have style 5’s in 15’s with the car !
@@Joshwaa___ gorgeous looking wheel tho. I was going to try and get them converted to 2 piece but no where in Ireland does that and would have been a fortune to send it to the uk
I do miss the sierra
it’s in safe hands!
I had one I had the 520 I se
dog bones, they are called Dog bones (Pitman arm)
thankyou! ordered some just now
Why not put the 535 running gear and interior to the 525i? No money needed, the 535i is scrap in every other way
my poor 535!!!
X2 bottles of wine? How much is a bottle?
£200
12: 57 pitman bushes
ordered!
Is the e36 for sale
not her!
The M5 you leave??
yes
M20's are common for that.
New raffle car?
noo unfortunately not!
These premiers kill me with anxiety 😫 🙃 it's worst with the sad title... hope that is fixable.
sorry 🤣🤣
There Trailing arm supports
thankyou
Can you guys please stop swinging it’s is what it’s is you don’t need to make it worse
what?
Dog bones.
Too much 'Effing'....not really necessary 😕😕, only need to know about the BMW's.
If you spent less time swearing and more time doing then be a lot easier and get done quicker
Blame the beer (sorry)
Everything in the eighties was shit! Music, clothes and cars and that's coming from a 56 year old who lived through it. Don't believe the hype!
They are pitman arms. Sorry I am late to the party lol
