Tobi / Warhorse, if you read this: You are spot-on, the game is a huge ad for traveling to the Czec Republic. I was going to Rattaje, Skalice and all the places together with my son after we played it both (living in Europe anyways). AND we are already planning to go to Kutná Hora and Český Ráj next year. (My wife can't negotiate this. ;-) It is SO UNREAL if you know what's behind that hill when in reality you are there for the very first time. It is moving to stand in the graveyard of Rovna, remembering all the bodies that lay there some 600 years ago. Sure, it's pixels, and it's not exact science, but these atrocities really happened to real people. And of course it's very amusing to walk along the banks of the river Sazava at Ledečko where my son and me learned the crossbow aiming at floating trunks. However, I might add to another point: The game IS ACTUALLY very educating. Thanks to a PC game I now know a few tons more about history (not my favoured in school), even about religion and about my neighbour contry in general. It helped me discover lots of interesting things I wasn't even aware about before. We can really feel the love and respect of the Czec game studio towards their country and ancestry. It is a monument for the country and a gaming benchmark anyways. Great job, can't wait for the sequel! 🙂
Well said, I'm glad you and your son were able to experience something like that together, and I agree. I have yet to go to the places in the first game BUT I can say for myself as well, history wasn't my favorite subject, but after experiencing this game I also got curious about this time period and events and started researching all the places listed and events (like the raid of Skalitz). I'm sure while their intent was to make an entertaining game with historical elements, they certainly succeeded in educating people about the history and culture of that area. They actually have something called the Kingdom Come Experimce they run at Malesov castle just outside Kutna Hora that allows people to go through an escape room team building exercise so they are still drumming up fan interest and tourism to that area! Glad this game had such a strong connection to you and hopefully the second will bring more fun memories for you and your son!
Glad to read this, I'm not alone..:-) Visited Rataje couple of times with my family and was able to guide our walk based on game experience like if we go uphill there we come to Talmberg..and it worked, amazing. On the other side, my wife is jealous of Tereza as I (Henry, of course) supposedly have more dates with Tereza than with her 🙂 Let's call it coincidence I've been working in Kutná Hora for 15 years so really looking forward to release of KCD2 as Kutná Hora itself is place to visit even without so immersive game soon to be released. Just do little bit of Google streetview to give you idea of middle-age persited to modern days. Everyone come to Czech and Kutná Hora the same as Henry came to us!

My only issue with combos is that when every peasant can master strike, you'll either rarely ever get a 3 hit combo off and never get the 5 hit combo off or they'll die well before a combo would even be necessary. Master strike and clinch fishing gets really tiring, so I'm hoping it gets smoothed out.
I've actually found that most true peasants don't usually master strike but they can perfect block. @xsweat1618 that one's underrated. I'm sure there will have some that target diff limbs. I'd love ones that have certain effects like ones to wrists cause them to drop their weapon or big hits to the head give a "concussion" effect that makes the screen blur for a few seconds after large hits
@@Griff_Gaming Ik it’s late for a suggestion like this but more effects like that on Henry would probably be cool too Even for a hypothetical kcd3, like Henry can be thrown off a horse but can’t be pummel stricken to the floor yk
The combat in KCD1 isn't hard to master at all, that's the biggest part of the issue. It's stupidly easy. You just learn the master strike from Bernard, wait until you get attacked and press 'Q'. If you attack enemies, they might use the master strike against you, so combat just turns into waiting and reaction game. Especially late game it's massively disadvantageous to directly attack an enemy at all, so combos can never be used in the first place. No way are you gonna hit 3 consecutive hits on a high level enemy without them master striking you before you can pull the combo off. Literally impossible, even if you stagger them hard you get a maximum of 2 free hits. If you're close enough after the stagger. I really, really hope this system that has such massive potential is allowed to shine in the new game by better balancing and adjusting the mechanics. Master strikes should be way more difficult and rare on both sides, ideally also be parry-able with skill checks of increasing difficulty. Just please don't bring another infinite master strike nuke to the gun fight.

It's a pre-order perk. It comes included with the gold edition along with 3 DLC's already prepaid coming out within a year of release. Pretty standard industry stuff really
"experimental settings for future hardware" was a lie with the first game, even today with a 7800x3d and a 4090 the first came cannot run well on ultra settings. It's fine because I love the game and you have option of lower settings (though shadows never allowed 60fps unless below high, and that sucked and required mods to improve them). But its better just to be honest "these settings are unoptimised and will never run well on any hardware no matter how much time passes, sos" would be better and more factual.
They don't have a way of knowing what hardware will be in 6 years. That's why its experimental. Also when you set the game to the highest setting there is a message that flashes SAYING this might not work as it's meant for future hardware. Its hard to optimize for the unknown
@@Griff_Gaming I know and I forgive that as the message is basically "we cannot guarantee this will work well" by the way it also doesn't run well on very high, or even high, anything that includes high or above shadows is less than 60fps in most situations, shaders are pretty brutal too. I love the game but I had to massively mod it and create an auto config with loads of optimisations myself because the game isn't optimized for different configurations at all it appears. I'll be happy if the next game isn't much of an improvement but I'd love for it to be. It's just he said "basically anyone can run it on ultra now" and I'm like, no they cannot I cannot and I basically have the best hardware possible. Sure I could at 30fps but no pc gamer counts that as "running."
Funny to see talks about being close to the community and having a good PR, considering they hid Denuvo in their game without communicating that to the preorder buyers, and refuse to give answers to people about Denuvo. They lost so much in my eyes during these last few days it's unreal. Just another disgusting corporationified company.
@@andykod77 The publisher of KCD2 announced that KCD2 will have Denuvo. However, Warhorse has not listed Denuvo on their Steam Store page, which is extremely fishy since the game is available for pre-order. They refuse to give answers to the player base asking questions via email and the steam community forums, they ignore questions on Twitter and refuse to give any kind of statement, they still officially do not list Denuvo on the steam store page to get more pre-orders, keeping everyone in the dark. Warhorse became typical corpo scum. When Tobias says in the interview that they are so super communicative with the community, he is just lying.
quality takes time. get the game late 2024 with tons of bugs or get it early 2025 with less bugs but more time to enjoy. your decision wich one you prefer. announcements of release dates these days should be seen as a vague direction instead of a fixed date. we all learned that throughout the past decade
Games are not predictable I think its great GTA6 did not have a date just a year Hope it makes it. But games like Kingdom Come 2 and GTA6 are very ambitious games.
Not that uncommon really. I'd rather have a game release a couple months later than planned in a more ready state than release in an unplayable state and lose fan support. Cyberpunk 2077 released a buggy mess and CDPR still hasn't fully recovered in most fans eyes.
After seeing the price on PlayStation for this upcoming release, I think I’ll pass that’s a joke. They think they’re worth $100. The last game was not that good people exaggerate. It was only OK.
@@kylerobison1425 that's a opinion it's all subjective to a person's like/dislikes or wants/needs people told me bg3 was a top 5 all-time game and I thought it was just.....okay especially since I can't find any fun in point to click games but that aside as ambitious as the game was I just thought it was overrated but im in the minority and i know that.

@@Griff_Gaming Oh okay didn't know that that's totally understandable! I tend to talk too much too when I'm nervous. Even more important than receiving feedback. I had to conduct a lot of interviews myself recently (for research) and talking over your guest, interrupting and going on monologues yourself are some of the big no nos. Is it not already? I have the first in my Geforce to optimize it and do little tweaks from there to run on my hardware
Guys, do not support devs that utilize denuvo, do not contribute to the industry's demise.
Funny to see talks about being close to the community and having a good PR, considering they hid Denuvo in their game without communicating that to the preorder buyers, and refuse to give answers to people about Denuvo. They lost so much in my eyes during these last few days it's unreal. Just another disgusting corporationified company.
@@CarianSculptor-bf7fs why what did they do?
Are you having a schizophrenic episode? Do you need our help?
Same, game is up for pre-order whit no system specs and no flag for the use of DRM Denuvo.
I mean they announced game late 2024 release then made it early next year which is ass tbf
quality takes time. get the game late 2024 with tons of bugs or get it early 2025 with less bugs but more time to enjoy. your decision wich one you prefer. announcements of release dates these days should be seen as a vague direction instead of a fixed date. we all learned that throughout the past decade
That's for the gold edition with 3 DLC's already planned for release in the next year. Pretty standard for how much games are these days....
Kcd 2 will have denuvo = not interested in the game, gl selling this bs
@@Mrfailstandstil warhorse convinced their publisher to remove denuvo, so you can become interested again. :)
@zxxxxxz67zxxxxxz54 yes, I've heard and already pre-ordered the game, really hyped, lessgoo!
Feedback: You talk way to much. I want to hear what your guest has to say...
Give your guest more space and speaking time. This should be about what Tobias has to say not about you.
I appreciate the feedback. This was my first interview and I was excited and a little nervous since it was a bit out of my comfort zone. Great learning opportunity so I can only hope to do better next time if a situation like this presents itself
But again it's totally human to be nervous and excited in this situation :) I hope my feedback can help you to improve that skill in the future.
dude, learn how to take interviews, your constant interruptions are ruining the whole thing
Absolutely no fan of the "dumbing down" parts, immensely looking forward to the rest.
Now you go and exercise pronouncing that name! Jemand der deutsch spricht, kann kein schlechter Mensch sein.
As he explained, it's not "dumbed down" simply more accessible. I'm sure it can still get as complicated as you would like it to get

Congrats! Lol
