    Oh, you wonderful chronicler! The Brno you present is 180 degrees from what I grew up in in the 1950 / 60s - shrapnel scarred buildings, dirty streets, half-empty stores but we had each other. There was also the odd beer to sneak, a cigarette to smoke behind bushes, when playing hooky from school. So, it was perfectly survivable even then. Thank you for bringing me the latest version of my dear hometown.

    • @BusterGotIt

      Ahoj, Silverfox47. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to view the video. Brno is a fun city to visit, I like it a lot.
      Even though you had a tough time in the 50's and 60's, sounds like you had challenging but fond memories!!! People who went through Communism Era always seem to have interesting stories to share. I have some Central and Eastern European friends who also have great stories to share. Sounds like you need to return to Liberty Square, have a StaroBrno beer and Svíčková or Goulash and share your story further!
      After working on videos very hard for 7 months and putting in ton of time and energy into it, I am happy to hear that at least one of my vidoes is bringing fond memories and joy to someone else as well.
      I must say I've been to your hometown 4 times already and I enjoy it every time, was suppose to go for the 5th time but pandemics got in the way.
      May I ask where you are currently? Do you visit back to Brno often?
      I am making a series of Brno. Just finished up Prague and plan to do Cesky Krumlov and Pardubice after Brno series.
      There will be more Brno videos, soon 😄
      I had to rework full detailed Brno into parts as most people have no patience to watch 45 minutes of it 🤣 Most of my friends and coworkers think even 7 minute video is too long 🤣
      Thank you once again for your time for viewing and leaving interesting comment. Děkuji. 😀

      @@BusterGotIt I have never been to Europe. I have traveled from Canada to SOuth America, but Never had the passion for Europe. Perhaps that can change real soon.

    • @BusterGotIt
      @BusterGotIt  2 роки тому

      @@SFTourGuide Canada is an awesome country but it does have the Europe flare, obviously because of English and French and sprinkle of others. I see Canada as being a stepping stone to Europe, if Atlantic feels so far 😊 Also, trip to Europe, especially east Europe is so much cheaper than vacationing in America. I spent $500 for 3 days and 2 nights in Philadelphia, imagine 2 weeks. I spend $2,000-2,200 in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland including air, airbnb, food and trains, museums, etc etc. West Europe is more expensive, of course. I like medieval cities but love the complete different culture than west Europe feel (I live in USA with west Europe culture feel). Something completely different appeals to me, in my opinion, of course. Countries like the Czech Republic is in the top 10 countries in the world in terms of SAFETY!!! Top 10 in terms of most for your money for a developed country. The country boasts lot of universities, I think 2 or 3 of them are top 20 in Europe. If you like the Celtics of the old tradition mixed with slavic culture with sprinkle of Roman, Germanic cultures with Romanesque, Renaissance, Gothic, Art Nouveaux style architectures....this your place. I love there Medieval feativals plus their backdrops are the ORIGINAL medieval castles, fortresses, chateaux, monateries, churches, walls and towers. Decent metro system, easy to walk-around along the river, trams are by far the best 👌 I've encountered so far. People are super nice, a bit shy and some say older people maybe grumpy (due to no beach in that country, haha). All the young people under 35 speaks English very well and happy to help when you're lost. I was lost quite a bit on the first visit. One actually stopped working and walk outside to help me with hand gestures even though she could not speak English at all, it was that kind gesture....welcome to my country 😊 When I was in Cesky Krumlov, I left my camera equipments in another bag in over head bin and exited while forgetting the bag!!! I went back to the bus stop towards the late afternoon on the bus pickup time (the same bus has round trip, per day) and that same bus driver happily returned the bag and would not accept money in appreciation!!! I left it on his seat when he was not looking and ran out. Also, airbnb hostess called in for me when I told her rhe story...I did NOT ask for her help, but she took charge!!!! Take my words CZECH REP...will not disappoint one bit. Just stay away from cabs in train station and old town, google the "official " taxis of Prague. Do not stay in Wenscelas Square at night time, foreigners from other poor countries try and scam you....and the gypsies. But those are the 3 bads. No stabbing or shooting occurs in that country. Just money scamming. I find it very safe city to walk alone at nights if you stay away from Wenscelas Square. You come from San Fran, so you ate already street smart, follow the same rule!!! Please look into the country of Czech and read other expats, vacationers or temporary resident. You will not want to return home!!! I can 99% guarantee it.

    I like the little town of Brno.
    I've only been to Prague once and it reminds me a lot of Prague. How the houses are built. What the streets look like. I hope I can write it like this.
    I love polar bears and often visit some in the zoo.

      I believe Brno in German is known as Brunn. In my opinion, it has more of a feel of small Vienna. I love the Liberty Square of Brno (Brunn). Brno has more relaxed atmosphere than Prague (Praha), a lot smaller but big enough to walk around for few days...to me it has just as much charm as Prague. It boasts largest Easter Europe University. It's a very youthful vibrant small city. I believe they have zoo in Brno and should have polar bears 😊 Thank you so much for your time and support 😀 take care!

      I have absolutely no idea how it managed to get 11k views!!!! Frankly, the quality of the video is not good at all. I had no idea about video making back then. I did 45 minutes long to give a full detail tour for family, friends, and coworkers mainly. I think I can safely say that only 7 or 8 people may have watched the full video.
