  • Prague is often the first city in the Czech Republic to come to mind.
    But what of the wealth of Moravia, the country's largest province in the east? This little-known region, a remarkable find, is only a few hours from the city and regularly reminds us of its assets.
    Because the train is a unique starting point to discover a country, this documentary series renews the genre of rail travel by taking the time to meet the people, appreciate the stories and the daily life of the inhabitants met along the way.
    From Mauritania to Sicily, from Mexico to the USA and Czech Republic, each episode takes us onboard an emblematic train, to meet those who live, eat and sleep and build projects there...
    On the Rails also explores what surrounds this legendary means of transport: The villages, the breathtaking landscapes, the must-see tourist steps, the train stations, the countryside and the mountains crossed by the journalist.

    We love the Czech Republic. Have visited many times and hope to do so again. Beautiful country, beautiful people, beautiful scenery, wonderful food and drink and some of the worlds greatest composers.

    I visited the Czech Republic in 2017. It’s a marvelous, rich culture. I felt very safe and at home there. Everyone was friendly. This is a destination which everyone should visit at least once in their lives.

    Thank you for the video clip - Very intersting about Czech Republic. I have never been there but I have two nice older friends from Praque when I lived in Kalmar, the South of Sweden for many uears ago. They are so nice and so kind. Many Swedish friends of mine talked a lot about Praque. In positive way :-) I hope after retirement I will take a tour to Czech Rupublic and look around, especially in countryside of the land. Best wishes from STOCKHOLM - SWEDEN

    It would very interesting to see some typical interiors of the ordinary people's apartments. How they live and not just seeing tourist sites. Such interesting tours however.

    Haven't been there yet. Strange story, I met a Czech girl in langkawi Island, Malaysia in Oct 2018 , great conversation at the hostel. July 2019, I was leaving Istanbul, rushing to the airport before midnight. A girl stop me st the hostel, asked if I was in Malaysia last autumn, I said yes.but I can't miss the last bus to the airport, I forgot to ask her name and email! It took weeks to connect the dots why she recognized me... I had the same flower 👒, we had very long chat about various topics 😊 this never happened before. I still regret I didn't keep in touch, I didn't have social media in 2018!

    they all speak good English! This shows that the system of education in former Warsaw Pact Nations has moved on, and now English has replaced the second language that used to be Russian.

    • @Pidalin
      @Pidalin Рік тому +4

      Russian was never second language, people just had that in school, but they never actually learnt that. Just ask some older person how to say somethng in Russian, they have no idea, they just say it in some Czech-Russian mix trying to immitate russian accent, they can't speak Russian at all and everyone tells you that they hated to learn Russian and most of peopel can't even read cyrillic anymore, that language was never some worldwide lingua franca like English is and when you don't need that language, you will forget it very soon. 😀 People younger than like 45 already had English at elementary school.

    the only thing I didn't like about this video is, it is too short in duration! Traveling by train (especially in Europe), is my favorite method of traveling. I was lucky to do this quite a bit when I was younger. I highly recommend it over driving (in most cases) or flying (as you know it really has become an unpleasant experience flying since 9/11 and other factors, even paying for an upgrade to 'First' class on many American owned airlines is an awful experience.

      @@mat4263 I've not seen that video yet, but I was born and raised in the USA and by comparison a lot of foreign countries are more conscious of littering.

    learn how to pronounce the word baroque. Everyone wants their own version of language. That is why truth is disappearing from the world as well as the distinction between good and evil.
