    Sean, another fantastic video!! Her light air performance is incredible ...truly mind boggling that this 88ft beheomoth with jetski, jacuzzi multiple cinemas, resturant grade galley and all the trimmings is achieving these boat speeds!
    That 22kt theoretical maximum should surely be crept up on at least once... for science 😂
    I know this is not a lifestyle channel and won't ever be, but the one takeaway I have from the Wynns glimpse of life aboard Crazy Love is that there are some incredible people working on the project who are passionate knowledgeable and also pretty personable! I Understand sea trials are "work" and everyone has a job to do but i would love to see you share some of the candid moments aboard and if possible allow the viewers to see the friendships and relationships that you have made along the journey.

    Wow, happy the tweaks worked. 12 knot speed in 15 knot wind is admirable for a huge, comfortable yacht with a high superstructure like Crazy Love. I wonder if there will be some sadness now that the long, complex design/build process is over or if you are thrilled it is over and you can start voyaging?

    I might be getting ahead of myself here, and I just stumbled upon your chan too.. I am considering a boat as my land days seem to have faded with age. I cannot decide between mono or Cat, but I do like the idea of a cat than can run on sails meaning lower running costs. I looked at boats like Sunreef but their sail speed is dismal. There are other boats that achieved speed at the cost of a good interior, and then there are issues like performance in bad weather (rather common). Id love to see the full specs, fuel capacity, a tour and description of the interior and fittings, material use, how you plan to avoid things like Mold, Black water or fuel smell, managing sails in bad weather without being in the bad weather.. as well as the minimum crew needed to manage this beautiful looking boat. One thing I have been asking around of late to cat owners is this: Can you ground your cat during low tide without damaging it ? Sunreef is a hard no. Others... they are a soft NO using too many excuses. This for me is important because where I live now (I might call this home base) is very tidal.. up to 6 meters. Being able to beach the boat would be amazing, as well as knowing it was an option for repairs. What about the Daggerboards ? Do they retract ? Rudder ? How are the props positioned ? I have so many questions.

    When you tacked were the engines on? I noticed that you didn't have to backwind the inner forestay in order to push the bow around. Maybe at slower speeds you will have to? • @rickweisberg
    @rickweisberg Рік тому

    Amazing. Sustained 12 knots in 15 knots of wind is enviable performance. One of the headaches on a lot of catamarans when using a lazy jack system to guide the main down is that when raising the main sail, it is common to catch the battens on the lazy jack system even when headed up wind with a loosened mainsheet. I noticed your boom seems to have the lazy jacks attached to points more laterally than I have seen on some other boats. Was this something you focused on? What type of boom and lazy jack system are you using?

    • @sketchtosea3750
      @sketchtosea3750  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for the comment. It is very traditional as far as the lazy jacks go. We decided to use a "hay rack" style boom for ease of use as opposed to a park avenue. This comes with a fully custom sail bag and a whole bunch of details accordingly. Clearly you watched to the end, thank you!
