Check out my limited edition print run at art.alluringarctic.com . ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL END OF JANUARY 2025. I selected these photos from the ones I took along the Northwest Passage. They're printed on rigid aluminum panels and come ready to hang on your wall (no need to frame, hanging kit included). Shipping worldwide and a free shipping offer is also available! On this 6th leg of our Northwest Passage attempt we sail east from Utqiagvik, into our first real encounter with sea ice. We're trying to reach Qiqiktaruk in Yukon, Canada. We've heard that there's a great sauna there and as Finns you must check it out! Hope you enjoy the video!
When it comes to the web store I'm kind of running a one-man-show here, so if you experience any issues with the webpage or the store please let me know! (comment here or send an email to juho@alluringarctic.com). Thanks!

Being a Finn who lives in Canada, sails solo on a Valiant 37 in spring summer and fall and who is currently watching freeze up from my island cabin, I love the final sauna scene. Brings a tear to my eye. I will have sauna tonight in their honour.
Drop everything !!! Alluring has dropped a new video!!! The fact that you mastered this stressful passage so well, with four of you on the narrow boat, and probably overtired, speaks volumes! Social skills and all that. (And seamanship, of course.) Hats off!
This is the most exiting sailingadventure I’ve seen. Absolute incrediable! As a swedish sailor I ’m really proud of this finish team. Spinnaker on the northeast passage, wow!
The cinematography and editing is truly amazing. Great to see Lumi in her natural habitat and sailing proud thru the ice. Love the sauna as we all are sure you did as well. Best, best as you head East!
Fantastic video. When I was a kid in Sweden we had an earth cellar to keep vegetables over winter. A finish couple bought the property. When I visited years later the earth cellar was changed into a Sauna!!! Finns and their sauna...
I got to admit I'm a little bit adventure-envious now, despite the temperatures. Also hilarious: Finns describing their icy surroundings in comparison to home waters 😆 Keep the spirits up, Ms Sohvi and the lads! Thanks for sharing.
These videos just get better and better. The scenery blows you away and seeing your small boat sailing amongst those ice bergs send shivers down your spine at times. Thanks for sharing and good luck .
Drone counter-dolly tracking with foreground bergy bits and sloop gliding through the background is brilliantly engaging cinematography-wise. Good eye sailors, beyond beyond imaging.
Seeing the "mystery sail" open up nicely literally put a smile on my face. I've seen first hand a few bad spinnaker launches fail so I can appreciate the slight anxiety that comes with this kind of maneuver! For what it's worth, I already know you made it through but I still enjoy watching your videos. Thanks!
This is now one of my favourite yt channels. I'm not a sailor and know very little about sailing and yet I find your videos very entertaining. You are very skilled not just at sailing in an extreme environment but also with the camera, capturing the amazing scenery and wildlife. Congratulations both of you on your escape from the rat race, living a life that most people can only dream about!
At 28:49 I can see some white squares on the beach in front of your boat. I believe these are the grave markers of 20 or so whalers that were caught in a summer blizzard while playing baseball near the camp. They were not far from camp but lost heir ways and perished. I was working on Herschel Island with "The Museum of Man" and "Polar Continental Shelf Project" summer 1985.
Hi everyone on Lumi. Wow, what an adventure. You're all a lot braver than me. I didn't realise the videos are 2 months behind, but it's great to know you're all alive and kicking. Merry Christmas to you all 🎄
RIP Guys - Look at the bright side! At least when they ship your bodies back to the morgue, they will all be frozen solid just like the "Iceman Movie".🤣 I'm enjoying hot buttered popcorn on my sofa watching with a cozy room temperature with a blanket. Great to see your still alive at least in this video upload.
I watch most all of your videos but these lately are outstanding. Really enjoy them and see you through a completely different light now. Mad respect for your abilities and knowledge. I just purchased a sailboat. I never sailed before and know nothing about it. The first time I took the boat off of the dock I got grounded in just a few miles. Thanks to Sea tow I go underway and made it safely to my new port. My boat needs a lot of work. In time I plan to go somewhere other than being at a dock working on my new home
Congrats with purchase Ö) that’s great and I wish you good luck with refitting and adventures. Hope you will get experience and knowledge at your grounding would remain the worst issue Ö)
I shudder to think of how many souls could have been saved by the way you cleverly used your drone in addition to ice maps etc to navigate that brutal passage between seasons. So much history there observed by stadiums full of international BRAVE EXPLORES, like yourselves. Y’all truly are some smart sailors, and handsome too. Except it took my breath away to see you all march into the mosquitos lands beside or along side the sauna without a rifle. What if some polar bears had wandered over for a summer time sauna?🔆 So thankful for your sharing the historic passage. I loved your reference of the ice sky I had read about. The blinking hints of danger with the fog closing in as the currents move through those amazing ice sculptures. I was able to identify what Shackleton referred to as growlers of iceberg projections just under the water at various depths. I’m so proud to have witnessed yalls voyage and I hope that the vessel behind you faired as well without being shut in by accumulating ice floes. Stay blessed my friends of other mothers. Congratulations.
Love watching your adventures, educational and entertaining. Explanation on the maps and seeing the animals is great I would never see this in person I click on your uploads as soon as you put them on. Thank you. Great to see intelligence and curious humans on the planet. I don’t see so much of it in the US with what’s coming to us in January blindness and ignorance. Thank you.
Curiosity got the best of me and a couple weeks ago or so, I looked up your boat on a ship tracker app and saw it in Greenland. I am enjoying your videos.

Recently discovered this channel, and I am absolutely gobsmacked! This is an awesome undertaking, really inspiring. Camerawork is excellent, and some of the drone footage is breathtaking, drones really are a game changer for a channel like yours. The only thing disappointing me watching these is getting to the end of each video. However, I get some consolation going through the earlier Alaskan videos while awaiting the next NW Passage episode. Keep up the great work, and stay warm!
You deserve your own television show on the Discovery channel! Your quality and editing is top notch and I'm hooked on the channel. Love this type of adventure. 💯💪
I know some sailors who would really make a big thing of crossing the north-west passage. It's wonderful how calm it is on this canal. Keep it up, I'm sticking with it! All the best from Mike, who is a bit jealous 😉
I love you folks…different natures, different skill, embracing additional people to round out your experience. So transparent and honest in all situations. Thank you ♥️
Nice to see the place in summer. Buddy Bob who was caretaker there brought a forty foot ketch (owned by an American scientist) from Herschel to Inuvik about 1983 causing phones at the locall newspaper to explode, "there's a sailboat in the East Channel!". Great adventure.
Hoping you had a safe journey and are enjoying Iceland by now. The two (now four) of you have been responsible for some very valuable content and produced the the most enjoyable, reliable, and educational UA-cam channel. This channel is as good if not better than Discovery, NatGeo or any other adventure experience. Thank you for nothing but the best. 🌊

Hey guys, excellent video of your voyage through the pack ice. Good job with making use of the ice charts, satellite images, and weather routing information. I loved your asymmetrical spinnaker in a sock. I have one for my Catalina sailboat and have used it extensively. Glad you enjoyed the sauna, and yeah, pour freshwater on the stove next time 😂😮😅 Hey, I noticed you were drinking Alaskan beer, which is brewed in my hometown of Juneau. Our local brewery has one many international awards and the Alaskan brewing Company used to give us two pony kegs for our 300 mile race around Admiralty Island. Probably the best beer you can get in America. Be safe, good luck on the rest of the passage, hope you get your water leak from the exhaust fixed because that looks like a hassle. 😮
Not a sailor but your dry humor and you wife putting up with it has me watching. 😊 I do like your narration and the comment of the “crew” make the video special. Thanks.
