Comming from a totaly different carrer having 0 knowledge whatsoever about data science but fell in love with it when I did start learning more about it which led me to taking that course... I just finished the certification in just a few weeks as well I did a lot of self study first before taking it so I kinda already know a lot of the technical stuff that they teach (Except R). The soft skills, overview knowledge, the capstone and other stuff that they teach you really is the selling point for me as well...
Glad to hear you found some value. Perspective & expectation is everything (imho) when it comes to these things but once you have the ability to self study/learn and you can do it well, I think you're going to be unstoppable!
@@raneshguruparan Exactly and videos like the ones that you are making make self studying/learning so much easier. So thank you 🙏🏼... There is only so much I can learn on my own tho so probably my next step is to keep on learning from other people who are already in the this field and getting ready if ever any company decides to take a chance on me, get some work experience in, and hopefully find someone who can be a mentor.
Hi Ranesh. Thanks for the information. I've started the course this week. So far so good (except I was hoping to learn Python instead of R) Have you met anyone who has done the Advanced Data Analysis course on coursera? I'm thinking of doing that next.
Yeah, I have and it’s focused on Machine Learning. If you are interested in Data Science/ML, I think that is a good course to look into. The ML Specialization by Andrew Ng is good too but slightly more advanced imo. Google Advanced Data Analytics Certification: imp.i384100.net/21Y0zO Andrew Ng Machine Learning Specialization: imp.i384100.net/Kj9d6x
Not sure if I get the video...I've taken the certification and they don't say that *only* this certification will get you jobs, they do say that this certificate will get you many job opportunities which are two different things!
Yeah, maybe I misspoke but what I intended to say was a lot of people come into this certification expecting direct opportunities (which I think might’ve been part of their marketing campaigns).
A project portfolio as in a portfolio? If so, this is the video for you: ua-cam.com/video/Xsz_C_ILeYs/v-deo.htmlsi=ReuDBirDkwzvr7QZ Otherwise, please clarify
@@raneshguruparan , I plan on doing Data Analyst projects and putting them in the portfolio so managers can view them. Do you recommend that I use GitHub or something else?
GitHub is good, if you prefer something like a website portfolio (like the video I attached above), I just link my kaggle projects on there. Here is what I have: raneshguruparan.com/
Decide what it is that interests you. I was interested in Data Science/predictive modeling/ML/AI so I decided to learn more about it. This was a foundation to getting there. Now I use the skills I learned from that course to collect, clean, process, and analyze data to decide what ML models would work best given the circumstances.
I've never heard of it. The title seems very catchy. After doing a quick skim, I think they focus on SQL which is good. Generally, I would find a course that can teach a BI tool (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker), a sheet tool (Excel or Google Sheets), a programming language (R, Python) and SQL (most important probably)
@@raneshguruparan it's actually a certification by Microsoft and linkedin officially, so they focus a lot on Microsoft products like MS Excel, Power BI, MS Access etc
@@raneshguruparan yeah i completed that course and have learnt excel and PowerBI so far, should I start applying for jobs/internship or wait to learn SQL and python first and then apply? P.S - I recently graduated in computer engineering from a tier 2 college in India.
@AavishSidana I think it depends on your circumstance. If you’re able to find a job that doesn’t need SQL/Python then focus on landing a job first. If you find that most jobs require Python and SQL then thats your next step
Hey Ranesh, I watched your videos, and they’re really impressive! But I noticed the thumbnails could be more eye-catching. I specialize in creating attention-grabbing thumbnails that can help boost your content’s reach. If you're interested reply asap.

All the best on your journey bud and if you want more support, I would recommend joining our Discord Community (link in description)
Problem is too many people have taken it and coursera sponsored a lot of videos to promote it
I agree but I think the content and educational material still applies.
