Hey all! We made an instagram for the Project Saab! Give it a follow for more content on the car: *@ProjectSaab_Svenska*
Auto Autopsy Are you a Saab Technician ?
no, just an enthusiast
I replaced all the o rings for the ps pump and res. I filled it up with the recommended ps fluid. But I don’t think I had enough fluid. The steering is making a weird noise now.. kinda like vibration. Why is that? I put everything back together and in the right spot too. What do you think?
dude. I paid a ton of money to have this done. I wish i had found the video before i did that. Thanks for posting this, anyway.
Glad I could help, even though it was too late!
I am a really big fan of you from Hungary 🇭🇺 I love your videos, keep it up!
Thank you! Will do!
Thanks to your videos I have diagnosed several of my 2005 9-3 Aero Convertible 2.0T b207r issues and now know what was causing the leak... have you got the part numbers for all the seals needed to complete this repair as I am struggling to find them in the UK?? Thanks for all the informative Saab 9-3 content, keep up the good work
www.esaabparts.com/saab/parts/93201201 part numbers are here!
Tony have you tried neo brothers they are uk based
@@Deanowelsh hi, Deano, thanks for the suggestion, I've found the parts from euro-saab-parts-direct.com who are round the corner from me in Essex.. thanks for all the help, now just gotta fit them
I just did this on my 03 a week ago and man you are lucky you don't have to deal with the sai cable and that metal tube. It sucked.
Don’t worry, I did lol: ua-cam.com/video/J9INdAieeuc/v-deo.html
I did this recently after finding my power steering fluid a reddish colour where the seal had failed and letting motor oil getting into the power steering system.
jeez :(
Thank you
You're welcome!
bro 1:24 , that clamped return line hose is like impossible to pull off the res.. I may need to heat it up!
I did the same in my car last week, but it's an trifuel so all the system for the cng or what to call it, are sitting right there, so had a lot of problem getting the lower bolt out 😁
:(
What did you do to get the hard seal removed (the one you replaced by using the socket to hammer down on it)? I heard that's a pain to remove.
A metal pick. If you can puncture the seal a little you can kind of carefully dig it out!
That's how my arc looked the seal stayed there
oops
I replaced the two seals at the power steering pump because the engine was leaking oil in the power steering resevoir. Now, all the hydralic fluid ends up in the engine oil instead, and i have an engine full of power steering fluid, and an empty resevoir. Any idea of what to do?
In between the reservoir and the pump there's a small seal that connects them you gotta unclip it clean it check the seals or follow the trail there's a small gasket in between them
@@mcdonald2037 I have also replaced that one. There are no leaks, all the power steering fluid ends up inside the engine
@@TheCHRISintheMIX I haven't replace any seal yet. I have same situation all the steering fluid ends up inside the engine. Did you find what was the problem?
@@speakersboy76 Yeah, the gasket i got for the shaft seal was the wrong size. Changed the seal, and now it works
not sure honestly....
What’s the best way to extract the power steering fluid from the reservoir?
A Turkey baster would be the easiest
On my 08 saab 93 2.0t didnt have the rubber steal on it that was causing the leak i change them to new ones
Oh no!
How come you did changed the seals and not the fluid? Sure it helps to solve the leaking problem but you still got engine oil in the steering system, humm.
We replaced what we could of the fluid; there’s no way to drain power steering fluid from the car.
Did you have to tighten any bolts to torque or no? Great video!!
thanks! no precise measurements used; WIS might say something about it if you're that concerned
What's the part number for the for thoseO-rings? All I can find is the whole pump...
Esaabparts would have it. I don’t know off the top of my head.
If you're getting oil in the power steering is it just seals or is it that I need a new pump? Thanks in advance for any knowledge you can offer!
I'd start with just the seals like this
Recently, I had misfired issue, I changed all spark plugs, ICM ( Ionizatioin Control Module ), Front Oxygen Sensor as well as Ignition coil packs, but I still have the check engine light on.... I also find out that there is a huge smell of gasoline when my 2006 Saab 9-3 2.0T is turned on / idol. Do you what went wrong ???
About 2 years ago, I had the same problems ( coolant T-connector & power steering oil leak ) before. I bought the coolant T-connector with hoses complete costed me about $35- but just replaced the T-connector. For the Power Steering oil leak, the leak was from the vacuum pump ( silver color ), and replaced by my Saab mechanic.
i would assume its injector related then, but im no expert
@@AutoAutopsy Hi..Thanks for reply, Appreciate ! I think, I need to take it to my SAAB Mechanic to do some checkings.
Hey Autopsy,
I'm at a junkyard looking for parts for my 2007 base 2.0T
I just stumbled on a 2006 2.0T with both factory HID assemblies in tact. Do you think they're plug and play?
i don't believe so but im not certain
Is there a way to check if the mileage of a Saab 9-3 is genuine? I'm looking to buy one, but where I live people that sell them usually import the cars from other countries and roll back the mileage. Can this be done with the Tech2 or some other cheaper (if possible) tool?
as far as i know, it's not possible
carfax would be the best way to verify mileage
Nothing new all the youth today have grass in the car 😂💪😁
