Nice review TETC. I did a actually drop my Hioki unit about 4 foot and it did survive. The sliding lid got knocked off but was easily snapped back on. I can't find a supplier for the remote probe in the UK though which is a shame.
I was lucky to spot the remote probe on eBay and immediately made the purchase. Because I knew it was a hard to find item. And if I didn’t make the purchase I’ll regret it later.
We call these things Meggers where I'm at. I've never seen one before till recently when I had to test insulation on a heating cable. I'm used to clamp meters and multimeters so this was an interesting new tool to use. Was surprised how expensive they are compared to my everyday meters. Learning these things generate a 1000v is pretty wild.
Everyone calls them megger because the company MEGGER were the original inventors / manufacturers of this type of test instrument to be sold on the market 👍🏽🤔
Yes, they should fit the FLUKE remote probe on their insulation testers won't fit the Hioki. But yes the standard test leads should work. Thanks for posting.

Can this meter be used on Hybrid cables and high voltage components? Specifically, to test for loss of isolation or leaks. Thanks
Yes it can👌
are these compatible with Fluke test lead?
