I think it’s a perfect bridge to a new era. David & Catherine get to do it for old times sake, it’s a good setup to the 60th, do the legacy look-back handing over to Ncuti.

I truly believe that Neil is the Toymaker, and is responsible for the Doctor having an old face. But this is my theory on why Donna is back. I think the Toymaker did a spell on her, that if she saw the Doctor again she won’t die. And the only way the spell can be broken, is if the Toymaker is defeated, and then Donna dies from remembering the Doctor. If he dies, then she dies. Also I know I’m jumping ahead, before David regenerating/de-regenerating into Ncuti, what if this was his last line: “I want to go…”
I love David Tennant. They did say faces would be revisited. My theory is (and I could be wrong) that none of the other Doctors made “official” announcements, but Shudi did, and I think it was partly a smack down for opening his mouth.

David Tennant was my doctor and he was and is my favorite Doctor and I'm glad he's back and I know there are a lot of fans like me that are glad he's back too! While Matt Smith was brilliant I loved David Tennant more. It wasn't the same when he left and I'm thrilled he's back!

David Tennant is back because it he and RTD hadn’t came back the show would have been cancelled until a new show runner had taken over. Ncuti hadn’t even been introduced until RTD came back. As someone who left the show because of jodie’s era and has watched this show since the 3rd incarnation of the doctor Jon Pertwee. it gives me a reason to watch the show again. David Tennant IS the Doctor, My doctor. I’m not just supporting David Tennant’s doctor because we’re both Scottish. He’s an actor who can actually act and it’s sad he’s only in it for 3 specials. He loves this show and has proved it time and time again. I’m not ready for David Tennant to regenerate again i’m still heartbroken from the first one when he was 10. If there were ever to be spin offs i would want any of David Tennant’s doctors. Ive never screamed so loud than when Jodie regenerated to David Tennant. I’m interested into what Ncuti can bring to the table as the doctor. Take care 🏴😘
I don’t think it would have been cancelled because it was put on hiatus between 2 seasons in the classic era and it was put on little hiatus between seasons 9&10 of the revival where all we got in 2016 was the Christmas special The Return of Doctor Mysterio I think Russell is back probably cause they could have had trouble finding a new showrunner for the show
I'm very excited to see Tennant present in the new era with the better production quality. I love Tennant's run but sometimes going back and watching the cgi is a laugh in its own right. I loved seeing Tennant in the 50th and how good he looked even only after a few years away. Seeing him now with much better quality is a plus in my opinion.
You know, I used to not like the concept of David Tennant returning as the fourteenth doctor, but now, I think it's kind of genius. It'll depend on how the specials actually go but I think it could be the perfect metaphor for the show itself at this stage. Like the Doctor themselves, the show has a new face that's also an old one--Russel T Davies--and people are getting nostalgic and hoping that it'll be "just like the old show." But, just like the show, the Doctor isn't exactly the same. He's gone through several different incarnations and has changed significantly as a person, so even though he's wearing a new face, he's still a different person. This is RTD trying to tell us that things aren't just going to be exactly the same as they used to be just because he's back, because he's grown as an artist and gained a lot of experience since Doctor Who, that he's planning on using to make the show the best it can be
I'm interested to see how different the 14th Doctor will be from the 10th Doctor. Will he simply be an older version? Or will there be some personality traits that have changed? The (very) short snippet that we've seen suggests the former, but who knows?
I reckon in-universe this was never meant to happen. Ncuti Gatwa was meant to be the 13th Doctor’s successor but the Toymaker messed with reality. So while 15 is trapped inside 14’s consciousness, the Toymaker will do a WandaVision and put 14 in his perfect reality with Donna again. The cost is that the Toymaker can do what he wants and throw whatever he can at the Doctor. 15 will persuade 14 to let Donna go and 14 stops the Toymaker. This act causes him to regenerate once reality comes back to normal and the 15th Doctor will emerge.
Unless I'm mistaken, I believe The Celestial Toymaker was originally going to be responsible for changing The Doctor's appearance before they came up with the idea of regeneration. In those episodes Hartnell is made invisible at one point by the Toymaker and originally at the end when he reappeared it would have been with a new face/actor. Being that this is the Anniversary, maybe it's a nod to that original concept that never came to fruition.
Just thinking... David being Fourteen doesn't account for why he'd be returning to Donna and Wilf... This opens up a whole other avenue of speculation. I'm excited. Funny, as soon as I type this, you read that section of the article which poses the question of how the Doctor-Donna reunion is achieved 😌

Tell you what - it's interesting that this all came about because of the watchalong of The Stolen Earth/Journey's End. I think RTD has created a sequel to those stories, and The Toymaker isn't actually after The Doctor, but the Doctor-Donna?
To be honest, I am beyond happy, intrigued and excited to see David, Catherine and Bernard back!! It was the right move for the Sixtieth. Plus I think it would've been hard for Chuti's first episode to be the 60th, a lot of pressure, I'm not saying he couldn't of handled it, but still!! I'll be honest, I have not been the greatest fan of the Chibnall era and so it has made me the most excited for Doctor Who since Peter C.
How is David Tennant back, and why did his clothes seemingly regenerate with him this go around? Here's my personal working theory on the matter: In DWM, there were particular quotes/comments made by Russell T Davies that were brought to my attention (thank you crispy pro). "Doctor Who Magazine: Together Again...But How?" "Then again, maybe, just maybe, this return is so impossible that it's actually an intricate illusion created by an old enemy of the Doctor's." "Of course, I wouldn't give that away in the pages of DWM, would I? But then again. This magazine is the first place I ever revealed the name of Billie Pipers Rose (in issue 340). So read carefully. There are truths in here." I think the doctor's clothes changing during the regeneration has something to do with it, with this potential elaborate illusion by one of his old enemies. My working theory is that Jodie does actually regenerate into Ncuti Gatwa at the end of 'The Power of the Doctor'. We know that Neil Patrick Harris will be playing a villian for one of the 3 60th specials, as potentially the celestial toymaker, a 1st Doctor Villian. Like Crispy Pro comments, what better way to celebrate 60 years of Doctor Who then by bringing back a classic villian. I believe his character is tricking the doctor into believing he regenerates into an older face (Tennant's), when in reality it's actually Gatwa. That's why during the next time trailer, we see Gatwa in the 14th Doctor's clothes (Tennant's) but with a different face. It seems awfully weird that the doctor's clothes wouldn't/don't change again when regenerating into Gatwa during the specials, if that's what indeed happens. But then again, this is just my personal theory, so take it with a ginormous grain of salt 😆!
As soon as I knew it was the Toymaker and David, it seemed clear they did what was originally planned in the original Toymaker story after making The Doctor invisible, which was forcing a change of face. It seems Donna is the most at risk given her predicament and this won’t be helped when The Doctor returns with the same face either! He is the one who can save her, yet the one putting her most at risk. However I think this is a manipulation of the regeneration process and whether a familiar face returning or indeed a degeneration, regardless of the official proclamation Tennant is the 14th Doctor, there’s room to either re-regenerate through other bodies to get back on track to Ncuti, or merely have other faces return too. Those complaining are silly, given David’s importance and popularity and given its an anniversary where we expect old incarnations to show up. It’s a perfect excuse for them, Russell and the audience to relish in nostalgia and celebration of their time too. I also think it could open up a way for a Tennant led Disney option too and help him raise his U.S. profile. Those complaining it’s bad and rude to Ncuti are missing the bigger picture. This will raise the profile of the show, bring in audience and make it big, and will allow Ncuti to benefit from that big interest and catapult off it to launch the new era. It raises the profile of the show for him to capitalise on, way better than having him pick up after the show in the state it currently is, audience and interest wise and negative connections.
When I think of the Doctor... It's 3... 4... 7... 8... 9... 10... and 11... On rare occasion It's 5, or 12... Usually it's 10 or 11 though, but mostly 11 tbh...
To differentiate David Tennant's portrayal of The 14th Doctor from his portrayal of the 10th Doctor, they should’ve let DT use his native Scottish accent, rather than just have a different version of The 10th Doctor's outfit while still using the fake English accent he used in his portrayal of The 10th Doctor.
I'm really happy 😊 I have the Smile of Rassilon! I think that Jodie did regenerate into Ncuti, but the Celestial Neil PH has made the Doctor think they are the Tennant Doctor. Clue being the fact that Tennant regenerates into a new set of clothes! Why isn't he in Jodies outfit as the Master was in the same episode? What, what WHAT? Donna Noble is back because when she was the Doctor Donna her (beautiful, as-yet unborn) child absorbed her dangerous memories subconsciously. That's why when she begins transitioning, she chooses the name Rose.
I’m pretty ok with David and Donna coming back for 3 episode ark. I’m very disappointed that we are having another set of three episodes over an entire year. We just did that last year and only had a few episodes per year for the years before that. Wish they had worked out their timing better . After seeing what Disney has done to star wars… I’m not sure I’m excited about that news though. I guess they did alright with marvel?
I think contextually and as a business strategy, they want to bring back casual fans who may have left after Tennant by bringing him and Donna back for a hopefully brilliant 60th anniversary, and give Ncuti his own proper start as The Doctor so that new fans, maybe people who watched Sex Education and want to see more Ncuti Gatwa, can get on board with the start of his series. If they had Ncuti's first episode be the 60th, then it would be very alienating to new fans who might have zero idea what the fuck is going on, especially if it's a multi doctor story packed with fan pleasing references, so it might be harder to get new viewers on board for the 60th if it was Ncuti's first episode. Instead by having Tennant and Tate be the leads for the 60th, you get a celebration of Doctor Who by bringing back old doctors and companions (and whatever else Russell has under his sleeve), then let Ncuti pave the way for his fresh new era. If these ideas work, it could bring a huge audience to Doctor Who, and provided the episodes are great, it can make it a globally loved institution once again
Let me start by saying I love New Doctor Who, I've been watching every week here in American since it debuted on the Sci Fi channel in 2006 (We got it a year after it debuted in the UK). I see the Doctor as one character so I don't have a favorite, I love them all, I think they're all great! I'm always excited when we get a new actor playing Doctor as well... With that said, I think Tennant coming back as the 14th Doctor is kinda like a soft reboot of the serise, they're trying to Pretend that Tennant didn't regenerate into Smith and all the other Doctors didn't happen, they want it to appear like Tennant regenerated into Gatwa, that bugs me a little bit because I wanted a traditional regeneration from Whittaker to Gatwa.
Sony when taking over Bad-wolf studios they wanted to take Doctor Who into a marvel multiverse kind of direction i heard so it could be a multiverse thing i do feel also there is another series coming off the back of the ending of power of the doctor with all the companions re-united again taking the show like Marvel into a multi series direction but also the celestial toymaker illusionary aspect could be a high viable reason for David Tennant being an illusion they are both highly probable and i am loving that tenant is back but still have concerns that the shows aesthetics is to cinematic looking for the show it just takes the uniqueness away from hat it was looking like an realistic TV show rather than a film its just to much for me and by the looks of the trailer they are still keeping that Teal And Orange colour grade again perpetuating the cinematic look that i dont feel fits the show.
I'm just concerned that Davies may be going to do what he's already done over again. That's not just Tenant, but a concern when someone takes the reins back. But if he can somehow fix the mess Chibnall left, whether that bit involves Tenant or not, then that is all I ask. But I won't get to see it anyway, no Disney.
I do think the timing of Ncuti's schedule with the looming 60th is what lead to this reunion special happening in its place. And I'm here for it. I agree that introducing a new Doctor in the midst of what is most likely a Multi Doctor story would be a bad idea. I just also hope Rachel Talalay is staying around in RTD2!
David Tennant has been busy too! Anyone catch him on the Inside man on Netflix. I'm enthralled in it currently on episode 3. It's pretty wild! Steven Moffat, who we all know as the second NuWho showrunner, wrote it and 😳😲 it's pretty scandalous. I was So Surprised when Jodie turned into David. Why tho, I'm not sure because we had leaked footage of him and none of Gatwa, I just didn't put two and two together. Lol. But it was wild seeing the suit first... Because I was NOT expecting That. I'm excited for David to be back but really interested in how Ncuti Gatwa is going to portray the doctor. I know he's going to do amazing. Murray Gold is returning too!!!! And with Russell back I'm really curious what the writing will be like. Hoping that they can go back to the doctor I fell in love with. Which was ironically when Russell was the writer so I'm very excited!
Surely it's the degeneration line from power of the doctor i.e. the doctor is now going back through previous incarnations. Perhaps, the Jo Martin Doctor isnt remembered...despite being a "previous" incarnation...because she is indeed a future Doctor too! So after David, comes Tom Baker, AND Jo Martin, and then Nguti??? The Doctor going backwards on incarnations...
I think I've said before, I'm happy to see David back as the Doctor. To be honest, I would have preferred it had they found a way for 10 to come back rather than him be 14, but we don't know the hows and whys of that yet. I'm positive that RTD will have a feasible story explanation for it. I'm looking forward to seeing Donna and the rest of the Noble/Temple family and I'm very intrigued how they can get around that. I don't mind waiting for Ncuti to appear (properly) as the next doctor in his own series. I think that's only right. He has a cameo in the specials, so I'm thinking that he was *supposed* to be 14 but someone - the Toymaker as you suggested, has found a way to mess with the regeneration process. I would have liked to see some past doctors as well, but at least we got some appearing in TPotD. I look forward to hearing your theory on how Donna is back.
I'm not sure I want DT back, I loved his era but we've moved on. As for Donna, she had such a sad departure that I don't want that messed up. But Hey! It's RTD and if anyone knows how to write Dr Who it's him.
I think Russell had a issue. People would be expecting a 60th but there wasn't a current Doctor. Jodie doing it as a multi-Doctor just claiming its before Flux would be odd. Having it as a first episode of a new Doctor would mean they don't get an exploration story. So then you could do a multi-Doctor without a current Doctor, just have any who said yes get together. Even then after Power it would most likely only be new ones anyway! So he had two options. Either a multi-Doctor with as many from Eccleston to Capaldi as he could get or 'lost stories' but then if it wasn't multi-Doctor then nothing big could happen otherwise it would have been referenced 'later' so he decided to not make it be set 10 years ago! I preferred it being lost stories and am hoping it was a glitch due to the forced degeneration that just happened (so it can't happen again) although I don't hate the theory that it has to be that face because he needs someone to immediately know who he is (which Donna's family would whereas they wouldn't recognise Ncuti)!
The biggest challenge for the 60th if jodie Whittaker’s real life played out as it actually did would be how is the doctor pregnant cause she could have been in the early stages of pregnancy while filming power of the doctor if they didn’t digitally remove her bump but by the time they started filming on the 60th specials she was 8 months pregnant even if they digitally removed her bump being 8 months pregnant could have still showed through in her performance
@@zwash300 Even if you think that the fans still left in droves with episode 8 just 5.2m, episode 10 5.1m and episode 11 5.3m. If you take series 11 as an anomaly then viewing figures have progressively got smaller every series since the end of the 10th's era.
i'm like meh about the idea and not because 10's my least favourite doctor but Mostly because it ruins the main rule of regeneration e.g new face. Yes the doctor's had a reason like 12 picked his face from previously. But that was different as he wasn't the doctor during tennants era and that was to do with the doctor's subconcious. He just got linked in during his era of the doctor. Also i don't see how the toymaker is back when hardly anyones seen that episode due to it being missy. I don't really see how they can link tennants face when he was already the doctor. Especially with the meta crisis. Also with the 60th there needs to be things that link from multiple eras not just tennants era. I just hope this is all a ploy and he's just called the 14th doctor when he's actually the master. There's a few things that can proof this: 1. His outfit is similar to what simns master wore in Sound of drums, (minus the undone waiscoat and just a longer jacket) 2. In POTD 13 got forced to regenerate into the master. Yes it got sorted but what if it only got sorted temporary and when 13's regeneration actually came the regeneration got confused and changed her to the master but with one of her previous faces and out of all the doctor's the one incarnation that is most like the master is the 10th doctor or the toymaker wanted to continue the forced regeneration master thing. (this could explain why the chlothes change as the master in POTD got the outfit wrong) 3. The master in POTD was also wearing the 10th doctor's tie. Could this be a hint that tennant is actually the master.
And for those ecastic over Russell T Davis returning as showrunner. You should know he's going to have the Doctor tackle climate change and other political hot potatoes. So yeah where still in the Whittaker/Chibnall era

I'm not at all happy with the decision the way they did it if they wanted Tennant back so badly fine, but why as a new incarnation why not as simply 10. The regeneration should had been from Jodie Whittaker to Ncuti Gatwa i hate when they keep messing up with the numbers. Twist or not it shouldnt had happened. They did this purerly out of desperation and fanwank and undermines and disrespects all the Doctors that came before also the fact that Tennant was my least favourite Doctor.

yeah 4.7k people would hardly be a blaze, and considering they made a big deal about it months ago, its not all that shocking. If you think it is shocking you really don't care about the show. Which is fair enough considering that episode barely got 3.6 mill views which is one of the lowest rated shows in the series. Honestly how is it not canceled... oh right David is back and they will hope to switch him out with that other bad doctor they actually choose. Lets just destroy the lore some more... yeah no one cares any more.
He did more than one year! He started Christmas 2005 and left New Year's Day 2010, then appeared in the 50th in November 2013. So 4 years (and a few days) as the Doctor with one more appearance after!

I'm interested to see how different the 14th Doctor will be from the 10th Doctor. Will he simply be an older version? Or will there be some personality traits that have changed? The (very) short snippet that we've seen suggests the former, but who knows?
I reckon in-universe this was never meant to happen. Ncuti Gatwa was meant to be the 13th Doctor’s successor but the Toymaker messed with reality. So while 15 is trapped inside 14’s consciousness, the Toymaker will do a WandaVision and put 14 in his perfect reality with Donna again. The cost is that the Toymaker can do what he wants and throw whatever he can at the Doctor.
15 will persuade 14 to let Donna go and 14 stops the Toymaker. This act causes him to regenerate once reality comes back to normal and the 15th Doctor will emerge.

Celestial Toymaker-Q
Unless I'm mistaken, I believe The Celestial Toymaker was originally going to be responsible for changing The Doctor's appearance before they came up with the idea of regeneration. In those episodes Hartnell is made invisible at one point by the Toymaker and originally at the end when he reappeared it would have been with a new face/actor. Being that this is the Anniversary, maybe it's a nod to that original concept that never came to fruition.
Just thinking... David being Fourteen doesn't account for why he'd be returning to Donna and Wilf... This opens up a whole other avenue of speculation. I'm excited.

Tell you what - it's interesting that this all came about because of the watchalong of The Stolen Earth/Journey's End. I think RTD has created a sequel to those stories, and The Toymaker isn't actually after The Doctor, but the Doctor-Donna?
To be honest, I am beyond happy, intrigued and excited to see David, Catherine and Bernard back!! It was the right move for the Sixtieth. Plus I think it would've been hard for Chuti's first episode to be the 60th, a lot of pressure, I'm not saying he couldn't of handled it, but still!! I'll be honest, I have not been the greatest fan of the Chibnall era and so it has made me the most excited for Doctor Who since Peter C.

How is David Tennant back, and why did his clothes seemingly regenerate with him this go around?
Here's my personal working theory on the matter:
In DWM, there were particular quotes/comments made by Russell T Davies that were brought to my attention (thank you crispy pro).
"Doctor Who Magazine: Together Again...But How?"
"Then again, maybe, just maybe, this return is so impossible that it's actually an intricate illusion created by an old enemy of the Doctor's."
"Of course, I wouldn't give that away in the pages of DWM, would I? But then again. This magazine is the first place I ever revealed the name of Billie Pipers Rose (in issue 340). So read carefully. There are truths in here."
I think the doctor's clothes changing during the regeneration has something to do with it, with this potential elaborate illusion by one of his old enemies. My working theory is that Jodie does actually regenerate into Ncuti Gatwa at the end of 'The Power of the Doctor'. We know that Neil Patrick Harris will be playing a villian for one of the 3 60th specials, as potentially the celestial toymaker, a 1st Doctor Villian. Like Crispy Pro comments, what better way to celebrate 60 years of Doctor Who then by bringing back a classic villian. I believe his character is tricking the doctor into believing he regenerates into an older face (Tennant's), when in reality it's actually Gatwa. That's why during the next time trailer, we see Gatwa in the 14th Doctor's clothes (Tennant's) but with a different face. It seems awfully weird that the doctor's clothes wouldn't/don't change again when regenerating into Gatwa during the specials, if that's what indeed happens. But then again, this is just my personal theory, so take it with a ginormous grain of salt 😆!

I believe having David Tennant coming back as The next incarnation of The Doctor has been on the cards Since 2013. Just correct me if I'm wrong.
As soon as I knew it was the Toymaker and David, it seemed clear they did what was originally planned in the original Toymaker story after making The Doctor invisible, which was forcing a change of face. It seems Donna is the most at risk given her predicament and this won’t be helped when The Doctor returns with the same face either! He is the one who can save her, yet the one putting her most at risk. However I think this is a manipulation of the regeneration process and whether a familiar face returning or indeed a degeneration, regardless of the official proclamation Tennant is the 14th Doctor, there’s room to either re-regenerate through other bodies to get back on track to Ncuti, or merely have other faces return too. Those complaining are silly, given David’s importance and popularity and given its an anniversary where we expect old incarnations to show up. It’s a perfect excuse for them, Russell and the audience to relish in nostalgia and celebration of their time too. I also think it could open up a way for a Tennant led Disney option too and help him raise his U.S. profile. Those complaining it’s bad and rude to Ncuti are missing the bigger picture. This will raise the profile of the show, bring in audience and make it big, and will allow Ncuti to benefit from that big interest and catapult off it to launch the new era. It raises the profile of the show for him to capitalise on, way better than having him pick up after the show in the state it currently is, audience and interest wise and negative connections.

I think that Jodie did regenerate into Ncuti, but the Celestial Neil PH has made the Doctor think they are the Tennant Doctor.

I’m pretty ok with David and Donna coming back for 3 episode ark. I’m very disappointed that we are having another set of three episodes over an entire year. We just did that last year and only had a few episodes per year for the years before that. Wish they had worked out their timing better . After seeing what Disney has done to star wars… I’m not sure I’m excited about that news though. I guess they did alright with marvel?

I think contextually and as a business strategy, they want to bring back casual fans who may have left after Tennant by bringing him and Donna back for a hopefully brilliant 60th anniversary, and give Ncuti his own proper start as The Doctor so that new fans, maybe people who watched Sex Education and want to see more Ncuti Gatwa, can get on board with the start of his series.
If they had Ncuti's first episode be the 60th, then it would be very alienating to new fans who might have zero idea what the fuck is going on, especially if it's a multi doctor story packed with fan pleasing references, so it might be harder to get new viewers on board for the 60th if it was Ncuti's first episode. Instead by having Tennant and Tate be the leads for the 60th, you get a celebration of Doctor Who by bringing back old doctors and companions (and whatever else Russell has under his sleeve), then let Ncuti pave the way for his fresh new era. If these ideas work, it could bring a huge audience to Doctor Who, and provided the episodes are great, it can make it a globally loved institution once again

Let me start by saying I love New Doctor Who, I've been watching every week here in American since it debuted on the Sci Fi channel in 2006 (We got it a year after it debuted in the UK). I see the Doctor as one character so I don't have a favorite, I love them all, I think they're all great! I'm always excited when we get a new actor playing Doctor as well... With that said, I think Tennant coming back as the 14th Doctor is kinda like a soft reboot of the serise, they're trying to Pretend that Tennant didn't regenerate into Smith and all the other Doctors didn't happen, they want it to appear like Tennant regenerated into Gatwa, that bugs me a little bit because I wanted a traditional regeneration from Whittaker to Gatwa.
Sony when taking over Bad-wolf studios they wanted to take Doctor Who into a marvel multiverse kind of direction i heard so it could be a multiverse thing i do feel also there is another series coming off the back of the ending of power of the doctor with all the companions re-united again taking the show like Marvel into a multi series direction but also the celestial toymaker illusionary aspect could be a high viable reason for David Tennant being an illusion they are both highly probable and i am loving that tenant is back but still have concerns that the shows aesthetics is to cinematic looking for the show it just takes the uniqueness away from hat it was looking like an realistic TV show rather than a film its just to much for me and by the looks of the trailer they are still keeping that Teal And Orange colour grade again perpetuating the cinematic look that i dont feel fits the show.
I'm just concerned that Davies may be going to do what he's already done over again. That's not just Tenant, but a concern when someone takes the reins back. But if he can somehow fix the mess Chibnall left, whether that bit involves Tenant or not, then that is all I ask.
But I won't get to see it anyway, no Disney.
I do think the timing of Ncuti's schedule with the looming 60th is what lead to this reunion special happening in its place. And I'm here for it. I agree that introducing a new Doctor in the midst of what is most likely a Multi Doctor story would be a bad idea.
I just also hope Rachel Talalay is staying around in RTD2!

David Tennant has been busy too! Anyone catch him on the Inside man on Netflix. I'm enthralled in it currently on episode 3. It's pretty wild! Steven Moffat, who we all know as the second NuWho showrunner, wrote it and 😳😲 it's pretty scandalous. I was So Surprised when Jodie turned into David. Why tho, I'm not sure because we had leaked footage of him and none of Gatwa, I just didn't put two and two together. Lol. But it was wild seeing the suit first... Because I was NOT expecting That. I'm excited for David to be back but really interested in how Ncuti Gatwa is going to portray the doctor. I know he's going to do amazing. Murray Gold is returning too!!!! And with Russell back I'm really curious what the writing will be like. Hoping that they can go back to the doctor I fell in love with. Which was ironically when Russell was the writer so I'm very excited!
Surely it's the degeneration line from power of the doctor i.e. the doctor is now going back through previous incarnations. Perhaps, the Jo Martin Doctor isnt remembered...despite being a "previous" incarnation...because she is indeed a future Doctor too! So after David, comes Tom Baker, AND Jo Martin, and then Nguti??? The Doctor going backwards on incarnations...

I think I've said before, I'm happy to see David back as the Doctor. To be honest, I would have preferred it had they found a way for 10 to come back rather than him be 14, but we don't know the hows and whys of that yet. I'm positive that RTD will have a feasible story explanation for it. I'm looking forward to seeing Donna and the rest of the Noble/Temple family and I'm very intrigued how they can get around that. I don't mind waiting for Ncuti to appear (properly) as the next doctor in his own series. I think that's only right. He has a cameo in the specials, so I'm thinking that he was *supposed* to be 14 but someone - the Toymaker as you suggested, has found a way to mess with the regeneration process. I would have liked to see some past doctors as well, but at least we got some appearing in TPotD.

I'm not sure I want DT back, I loved his era but we've moved on. As for Donna, she had such a sad departure that I don't want that messed up. But Hey! It's RTD and if anyone knows how to write Dr Who it's him.
I think Russell had a issue. People would be expecting a 60th but there wasn't a current Doctor. Jodie doing it as a multi-Doctor just claiming its before Flux would be odd. Having it as a first episode of a new Doctor would mean they don't get an exploration story. So then you could do a multi-Doctor without a current Doctor, just have any who said yes get together. Even then after Power it would most likely only be new ones anyway! So he had two options. Either a multi-Doctor with as many from Eccleston to Capaldi as he could get or 'lost stories' but then if it wasn't multi-Doctor then nothing big could happen otherwise it would have been referenced 'later' so he decided to not make it be set 10 years ago! I preferred it being lost stories and am hoping it was a glitch due to the forced degeneration that just happened (so it can't happen again) although I don't hate the theory that it has to be that face because he needs someone to immediately know who he is (which Donna's family would whereas they wouldn't recognise Ncuti)!
The biggest challenge for the 60th if jodie Whittaker’s real life played out as it actually did would be how is the doctor pregnant cause she could have been in the early stages of pregnancy while filming power of the doctor if they didn’t digitally remove her bump but by the time they started filming on the 60th specials she was 8 months pregnant even if they digitally removed her bump being 8 months pregnant could have still showed through in her performance

@@zwash300 Even if you think that the fans still left in droves with episode 8 just 5.2m, episode 10 5.1m and episode 11 5.3m. If you take series 11 as an anomaly then viewing figures have progressively got smaller every series since the end of the 10th's era.

i'm like meh about the idea and not because 10's my least favourite doctor but Mostly because it ruins the main rule of regeneration e.g new face. Yes the doctor's had a reason like 12 picked his face from previously. But that was different as he wasn't the doctor during tennants era and that was to do with the doctor's subconcious. He just got linked in during his era of the doctor. Also i don't see how the toymaker is back when hardly anyones seen that episode due to it being missy. I don't really see how they can link tennants face when he was already the doctor. Especially with the meta crisis. Also with the 60th there needs to be things that link from multiple eras not just tennants era. I just hope this is all a ploy and he's just called the 14th doctor when he's actually the master. There's a few things that can proof this:
1. His outfit is similar to what simns master wore in Sound of drums, (minus the undone waiscoat and just a longer jacket)
2. In POTD 13 got forced to regenerate into the master. Yes it got sorted but what if it only got sorted temporary and when 13's regeneration actually came the regeneration got confused and changed her to the master but with one of her previous faces and out of all the doctor's the one incarnation that is most like the master is the 10th doctor or the toymaker wanted to continue the forced regeneration master thing. (this could explain why the chlothes change as the master in POTD got the outfit wrong)
3. The master in POTD was also wearing the 10th doctor's tie. Could this be a hint that tennant is actually the master.

yeah 4.7k people would hardly be a blaze, and considering they made a big deal about it months ago, its not all that shocking. If you think it is shocking you really don't care about the show. Which is fair enough considering that episode barely got 3.6 mill views which is one of the lowest rated shows in the series. Honestly how is it not canceled... oh right David is back and they will hope to switch him out with that other bad doctor they actually choose.
