I've been following this steam engine since the beginning and it is so great to see it come alive again. When it was in that swamp it looked like it would never run again, but Jonathon made it come alive. Awesome video, I have been waiting to see this happen.
Thanks for another view of this startup! We watched Jonathan haul this thing out of the woods. To see it takes its first turn under steam is a real treat.
There are not many guys in the world would know how or be able to get this really old complex Corliss valve gear steam engine going However I knew Johnathan would …..no problem….well done excellent
I don't see how I must have missed this one. Always a good feeling to see an oldie moving again. I get the same thing getting up in the morning. Vic seems to be good help. Good video.
I came for the cars, I stayed for the steam! I have been around steam since my teens, the smell of steam oil will always do it for me :) I am so impressed with your "can do" attitude about all of your projects. In the UK stationary/static steam engines just are not around in the numbers that seem to be around in the US, your collection has got very big very quickly, I always look forward to the next chapter.
Thanks for sharing this Scott. All that hard work is paying off, when those give a hiss and roll into life again. Thanks for helping him with all these historical treasures.
Wow this is amazing I’ve watched every video you ever posted of this bares engine and I’m so happy to see that you got this engine running this made my day to see this I’m so happy for you. Cheers
In its working life was the big wheel acting as a flywheel as well as a drive for a belt ?? A lot of engines steam or ICE have a flywheel and a belt pulley
I dont know why they bothered with double acting pistons and stuffing boxes back in the 1800s. It was way above their engineering skills in those days. Even today if I was designing and building a steam engine it would be single acting multiple piston with turbine secondary.

Things have come a long way from "I might run it on air."
@@conspiracyscholor7866 I remember those days and when he said that.
That was worth the price of tickets 80 years to see it come to life congratulations and thank you 😊

Might have to give this channel some more of my own traffic. I mean no disrespect, but JW's work deserves some high resolution captures.
Where are you located? I would love to see your collection of steam engines.
That's cool as hell! How's your el camino coming?
Updates on the el Camino coming soon
