Morning Jonathan!! All I can say is WOW!!! you & your family are creating a working museum that will educate generations to come!! Extremely cool!! I definitely will take a road trip soon, Praying your place will be one of my many destinations!!
The new shed with the big engines all lined up inside is going to be fantastic. I keep saying the day when every working engine is running at the same time off that big boiler is going to be a real treat to see. This episode was almost like that! We're getting closer! Thanks for your channel!
Seeing "her" engine running had to make your wife-mate very happy. You've done so much with all of those engines but I think this one was a great "gift" back to her for buying it for you. What you two have is priceless! Looking forward to more videos as you progress with your restorations.
Thanks Jon that was a real Easter treat. Every one of those engines, the bases and buildings represent a fantastic accomplishment. Hat's off to you, I wish I could do a tenth of what you do. All the best, Mart in England.
Thank you Jonathan what you have been able to do with all the engines is astounding, especially considering everything you have done yourself… part building, building building, sawmill, crane.. amazing
I love the skeleton sitting on the bumper of the Franklin. I would not be surprised to see Jonathan come home one day with a small steam locomotive and some track.
It was nice seeing that engine your wife gave you working again. It's amazing the power they have to move all that metal around. You are doing great saving and running these engines. Have a Great Day!
Would love to see you build a steam powered line & pulley machine shop with a motor back up or getting hold of a Frick circular sawmill run on steam powered with motor back up so you can us them without fire up. Got feeling your gonna end up with alot of visitors one day once you retire maybe
That boiler was well worth the effort! It's so cool listening to the engines run with my eyes closed focusing on all the individual sounds. It's kinda relaxing!
If Fred Dibnah is looking down from above he would be very pleased to see a like minded person is carrying on keeping machinery like this ALIVE !! . Thanks Jonathan
Scott from cold war motors really hit the nail on the head by describing you as feerless. Congrats on all the progress you’ve made. Each one these machines is a work of art.
I have a squirrel that we found in the yard when it was a baby. Best pet I’ve ever had. You wouldn’t think of a squirrel as affectionate but it comes and sits in my lap so he can get his head rubbed and under his chin like a cat. I’ve hunted squirrels but don’t think I could shoot one again.
Still amazes me that you have steam engines made in my home town, and there is no evidence there was ever any heavy manufacturing ever being done on that site (most of you al have seen my video of the area). And it was done there for almost 100 years. Schofield and Taylor works were next to each other, eventually Schofield got absorbed by Taylor. Apparently families joined too... Good work man!
With all of the other gentlemen passing on buying that engine because of the missing parts, it's like that engine was meant for you. Nice to see it running again. 👍
A local antique mall once had the complete set of patterns for casting a large bell. For some reason the seller decided to sell individual pieces rather than the whole set at once.
Keep up the good work, I’ve seen old steam engines sitting in fields all rusty, no body doing nothing with it, it’s cool your bringing them back to life
Like you, I watched those same episodes with some sadness when Jonathan was saying "This engine will likely never see any steam". So HAPPY and entertained to see it turn out this way !!! ;o)
As Always a great show, i now rate JW No1 youtube channel, Honest, Hardworking man, No fancy gizmos or tricks, what you see is what you get without BullShit too glorify everything, hello Nina puss, good cat!!
Great video Johnathon awsom. Thank you wonderfully done . All the engines running very amazing I love to see anything you post. Especially the steam engines it's different way different from anything else on UA-cam. You are very knolgageable about a lot of things people really learn a lot watching your videos stuff they would not see any where else thank you very mutch love your videos can't wait for till you post agine love your family and Nana the cat. ❤
You certainly done a amazing job on these old steam engines I’m really happy for you that’s a incredible achievement you’ve done here cheers and as always keep up the amazing work
Regarding the squirrel - My experience, they make a nice pet until mature, at that point they’ll go back on their own choosing to the wild. Nice work on the collection. The Franklin will fit right in.
Awesome, plan to be in the US in 25 would love to visit Jonathons steam shed! Loved steam since I saw my first working steam engine at the age of 4 or 5 !
This channel remains among the coolest ever. Jonathan (w/ his supportive family, friends and cat) is a national treasure. Hopefully, a 3rd personal asst fan will forward his videos to some plutocrat billionaire who might me moved to anonymously buy JW a steam train. Project or not he’s goin to get it running.
Wow !! Can only imagine the satisfaction you must experience when you have steam up and all of these mechanical wonders are humming and "hissing" along at once. I have experienced multiple times ghe satisfaction of getting a internal combustion engine running again after total rebuilds or major "fixit" challenges. That would amount to a "fraction" of what you have achieved here !!! Sooooo nice that your wife takes such a positive part in your passion !!! That one you have started painting looks like it's going to be a real "GEM" !!! 👍👍👍👍🔧⚙🛠🗜🍺😉
Thanks for the upload, Steam is amazing and stands the test of time. Appreciate all the hard work you do and whoever else helps to keep this alive :) We had a steam museum that closed down and its probably 30 years and the land is privately owned but the knowledge required to get it back up and running isn't cheap or isn't around anymore.
old Bud Kittelson learnt me up on the Loctite trick back when i was a tadpole, he used to repair cracked diesel cylinder heads with the stuff, it works pretty great, should work with your oiler, if not, you were going to R&R the thing anyway
Steam power has always fascinated me. My grandpa was a boiler men in the hard rock mines in NM, his leg was severely burned when a glass bottle of gasoline was overturned in the boiler room at the Clovis NM airbase ww2. I always thought it would be cool to have a small home unit to run a generator to charge your house batteries
👍👌👏 There is really not much more to say than: Oh WOW, simply fantastic! And, as always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and health in particular. To all of you of course (including the animals).
Hey Jonathan,I live in Monroe, when you start taking visiters i would love to visit and see all these great machines. I just retired ,i could push a broom or pound a nail for ya tkae care ! GREAT videos You work hard!
This is fantastic. I think it is really important. It would be nice to see these engines doing work. That would be another huge effort, but maybe someday you could have them all turning generators and start measuring how much electricity they can make. How about charging up a Tesla car, call it the world's first wood-fired automobile? Spectacular. Best wishes, Jonathan. You're someone special. Oh, and I'd like to see governors spinning on all of these old engines. Maybe you'll develop a big enough market for them that someone will start mass-producing them again. I wonder if the mechanisms could be 3D printed.
One thing is for sure Jonathan, you don't do anything half way. I have enjoyed your videos for years. I started watching when you first got the Nash sedan running. That has been a few years ago.
Great video content. Like you, I'm always happiest when I'm doing something I really enjoy. Something that peaks my interest. Looking forward to seeing more on your channel. Thanks again for your time today and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Jonathan you amaze me,i am 78 years old and have met many people that impressed me with their abilities but never anyone at your level ,thank you for all your videos and wish you and your loved ones a very Happy Easter!
Great job Sir👍 what an Era everything from factories to locomotives ... That engine was the pre " Detroit diesel"😂😂 🤔 any plans to power the wood saw with a steamer? Happy Easter to you and yours.
Nice to see Nana cat keeping an eye out for you, she is beautiful. Theres nothing like a few steam leaks and rattles to add to the drama of a running steam engine! As to the squirrel and insulation problem. maybe some canary mesh over the insulation may minimise damage.
It's all looking so nice and such a great part of history to share with us. Thank you Jonathan for all you do.👍🇺🇸
Morning Jonathan!! All I can say is WOW!!! you & your family are creating a working museum that will educate generations to come!! Extremely cool!! I definitely will take a road trip soon, Praying your place will be one of my many destinations!!
Just like a Clock. They were running Flawlessly .Great Job Johnathan and Video. Thank You for taking us Along..
Came for the engine, stayed for the squirrel 😂
The new shed with the big engines all lined up inside is going to be fantastic.
I keep saying the day when every working engine is running at the same time off that big boiler is going to be a real treat to see.

I love steem engine videos my self 63 grew up in Indiana commercial Garage working on everything with my Dad
Thanks Jon that was a real Easter treat. Every one of those engines, the bases and buildings represent a fantastic accomplishment. Hat's off to you, I wish I could do a tenth of what you do. All the best, Mart in England.
Congratulations. Those pieces of square key stock spinning around and sticking out look scary.
It is good to see the old engines running again!
Well done Jonathan !!!! You are the best !!! All the best, Richard from England.
Thank you Jonathan what you have been able to do with all the engines is astounding, especially considering everything you have done yourself… part building, building building, sawmill, crane.. amazing
I just love these old engine’s. I built a couple scale models over the years but these things are works of art, I am envious.
I love the skeleton sitting on the bumper of the Franklin. I would not be surprised to see Jonathan come home one day with a small steam locomotive and some track.
Great work! But please don't hurt yourself with those engines! Thanks for the video!
It was nice seeing that engine your wife gave you working again. It's amazing the power they have to move all that metal around. You are doing great saving and running these engines. Have a Great Day!
Good Friday, April 7, 2023. Thank you Jonathan.
Thank you, Jonathan, for your dedication to preserving steam history. Loved seeing all those old engines turning under steam power!
I loved the car videos but steam engines have always mesmerized me....could watch them run all day. Lots of great history there.
As a boy I had a squirrel that that would ride in my pocket and sit on my shoulder. They don't urinate and their feces is dry. They are calm. Perfect.
,,,A LITTLE FINE TUNING AND OLD IRON COMES BACK TO LIFE, GOOD JOB, KEEP SAFE...
Fine job Conservator. I patch holes in galv. roofing with aluminum duct tape - been on for 20 years. That boiler does good to run so many pieces.
If Fred Dibnah is looking down from above he would be very pleased to see a like minded person is carrying on keeping machinery like this ALIVE !! . Thanks Jonathan
Thanks for the video above average as usual, all the best wishes from New Zealand. 😊
Scott from cold war motors really hit the nail on the head by describing you as feerless. Congrats on all the progress you’ve made. Each one these machines is a work of art.
Thanks Jonathan for all of your very hard work to get these old live Steam engines running...👍
l am an Old Navy Flying Shoe🇺🇸
Just makes me smile every time one of them engines start up! Many thanks Johnathon!
What a beautiful collection of engines.
You are one of a kind ~this sure beats a stamp collection, coins, baseball cards . . .
That's awesome it's great to see them old engines run keep up the good work can't wait till the next one
This is exciting to see it all coming together and hearing them all work😊
I love seeing your guest, Nanna, making an appearance on your show. She's a real nice kitty inspector.
"He ain't big enough for a sandwich" cracked me up.
I think those engines are really glad you found them and that you have the skills to bring them back to running condition. Congrats.
These steam engines just illustrate how short sighted we are as people we should still be using them
With all of the other gentlemen passing on buying that engine because of the missing parts, it's like that engine was meant for you. Nice to see it running again. 👍
Oooo-weee, right on 🤘! Haha, Nana cat is the yard cat or the Cat -scanner and you the Hoss -cat! Right on Jonathan, right on 👍🤘✌️
That was simply fantastic. What a collection!
Wow , Jonathan, really nice display of buildings with steam power ! I am putting that on my bucket list to visit and film one day !
A local antique mall once had the complete set of patterns for casting a large bell. For some reason the seller decided to sell individual pieces rather than the whole set at once.
They all look real good buddy,
Keep up the good work, I’ve seen old steam engines sitting in fields all rusty, no body doing nothing with it, it’s cool your bringing them back to life
I remember when you got that first engine.
Did you ever think you would have so many running and on display?
Thanks for sharing.
Like you, I watched those same episodes with some sadness when Jonathan was saying "This engine will likely never see any steam". So HAPPY and entertained to see it turn out this way !!! ;o)

You certainly done a amazing job on these old steam engines I’m really happy for you that’s a incredible achievement you’ve done here cheers and as always keep up the amazing work
I love the action of the valve eccentrics!
Beautiful old superiorly strong machines that will last far beyond....and super simple!
Regarding the squirrel - My experience, they make a nice pet until mature, at that point they’ll go back on their own choosing to the wild.

Thank you for a great video, love that you not only save history, but show us all how it works
old Bud Kittelson learnt me up on the Loctite trick back when i was a tadpole, he used to repair cracked diesel cylinder heads with the stuff, it works pretty great, should work with your oiler, if not, you were going to R&R the thing anyway
That is totally metal ! Hats off the the engineer and the steam smith lol👍👍
Steam power has always fascinated me. My grandpa was a boiler men in the hard rock mines in NM, his leg was severely burned when a glass bottle of gasoline was overturned in the boiler room at the Clovis NM airbase ww2.
