Thank you for the great information. I have several hundred “thrown in” on a different type of collection bought a couple years ago. Guess it’s time to start unrolling.
I've always wanted to collect these posters from cinema's, I even asked years ago if I can have them or buy them from the cinema when the film had finished. They very often said that they gave or sold the one they didn't want themselves to the staff at the cinemas. Excellent information. Thank you, Don. Charles in the UK
Great job! The black light posters were given to students as a prize for selling candy and I have seen them given out at fairs in the 70’s. Universal Monsters through Tower records handed free out posters in the late 90’s This sold very well at the time.
I just started the video thinking "hey I should check some Nirvana posters" - that's because it is my all time fav band since I was a teenager. 2 minutes later I see you saying "Nirvana posters are really expensive these days", damn...
Thank you. I'm learning about a lot of different things. To be honest, I would never have guessed the value of these items if I did not watch your You Tube.
Love the concert posters/fliers you have there Don ! appreciate the knowledge. I worked as a teen at a video rental. We got promo packs for every new movie and we threw most of them away except the feature ones. For some reason i took home the cardboard Ghostbusters display for my room but i never used it and for some reason a Ladyhawke poster because i thought it was cool. Still have them. Wish i took more, many more...
I saw what you did there, Don! "Monster Prices? Ha! Love it! What's the Frequency, Kenneth? Great job! Great band. So sad they broke up. I went to college in their home town and saw Peter Buck at the opening day of The Doors movie.
Great information, as always. Thanks Don! I do love collecting things like this but tend to not want to sell them. Yes, it's a major flaw in my business plan. ;-)
Reminds me what I did in early 90s as a teen. I worked at 1 screen local movie theater in Brooklyn. The Manger tells me to clean out the Cobb filled dusty attach with movie posters and promo items (key chains, 3d glasses , pens) I recall looking at them as I dumped them. All the movies from 70s 80s posters right in the dumpster. If only knew.
Always love your content. Thanks for the Pulp Fiction heads up. I found two posters framed in glass at a Goodwill. Not old but since I loved to two actresses that were in the movie and they were so prominently displayed I couldn't pass it up.
Great video...one fact check tho...steve mcqueen did not do the jump over the fence. his buddy and stuntman bud ekins made the jump as his stunt double.
Wow! The Unicorn!!! I remember that venue few of my friends went to that show. Sound Garden & Pearl Jam@ Houston off 59 I didn’t go to this concert but I did go to Nirvana @ Astrohall acouple months before the death. Still have my stub and shirt.
Hey Don, I love your Elvis shirt! I was hoping you would show the Elvis Poster that I have, but you didn't. How about doing a video on the more valuable Elvis collectables.
Way cool of a video. Never really collected movie posters, but I think I still do have some. Mostly of course of them posters given out here in Finland. I just love my old "Vain Kuolleen Ruumini Yli" (Die Hard) poster, cuz being a big Bruce Willis fan. Do have collected some music posters because been a die hard Bad Religion fan for almost three decades now. So those Nirvana and Pearl Jam posters featured here were also way cool imo.
As a high schooler I used to ask theater operators for posters. Got quite a few then when I went into the Marines, most disappeared. Most were 60s movie posers. My favorites were the Raquel Welch movie posters
Dear sir I have the poster out of a Kmart that once existed in fort Smith Arkansas. The poster is for the release of the Star wars trilogy and has pictures of Yoda, Darth Vader and the robots on it and it's like 6 ft by 4 ft, a big old giant poster( I think it is a double sided banner actually) and I have the aisle hanger that has them on each side a, three-sided aisle hanger ,what would you think the value is?
Interesting. if I were a poster collector, seems like it would be pretty easy to create fakes of these high dollar items. The Nirvana sheets were just ran off on a copier... what's to stop that from happening today and calling it an original ? I think a follow-up video discussing fake posters is needed, as well as signs to look for regarding originals vs fakes.
Poster and how to pack posters. Two great videos. I bought a huge roll of movie poster for next to nothing (I forget, but I know CHEAP) the problem is they were store in a barn and have the edges chew by mice and/or rats.
Way back in the mid 1970's I went to an art supply store near L.A. City College with a couple of friends. There were several big bins full of vintage movie posters, with at least a couple of hundred. I saw no value in owning them and it never occurred to me that I could just use them for wall art. I still kick myself today for my ignorance.
I’ve been extensively searching, with no luck, to try & find a broker, etc for some rare Disney posters I have. They’re double-sided, misprints, directly from Disney (my Gpa worked for Disney for his whole career). Could you please advise me as to where I could sell such items? Also, I was told that these were supposed to be discarded & he shouldn’t have had them. Is it legal for me to sell such posters? I don’t want them to be confiscated somehow. Please lmk. I can’t find any other guidance. Thank you.
I have these 20x30 Beatles portraits that I received in my Dad's estate. I'm not sure what they are or if there are worth anything. The artist is Kenneth Stock and he sketched them from existing portraits, primarily during the White Album. They are on a material I've never seen; they are all on a semi-transparent frosted plastic-type material. Do you know anything about the background of posters like this? Are these worth anything? I have 2 Johns, a Paul, a Ringo, and a George, but I'm not sure what, if anything, they are worth.
Hi! I found an original World War II German wool long green coat with stamping inside. I can send you a picture but do you know the best place to sell something like this?
Great video but a whole category of posters wasn't covered...namely vintage travel/airline posters. Maybe their value is not as high as other categories? Regardless, vintage Pan Am, Eastern, National, Braniff etc airline posters are worth a look see👍
I use to work at the front desk at the cable company in the mid to late 90s and was in charge of hanging movie posters in our lobby. I took home quite a few of them and sold them on eBay a couple years ago, even though they were used and had wear and tear. One I didn’t keep was the poster from Silence of The Lambs. It had a decorative design around it but if you looked closely, it was a couple having sex! I showed it to our manager and asked him if we should take it down but he said no!
The Porsche one (6.16) is cool and valuable mostly because Porsche never got permission from the Steve McQueen estate so they actually had to recall and destroy them, therefor only a few survive to this day.
I wish you would have covered how to tell if it is an original, that is The first Star Wars poster you showed.😅 all I saw was sheet A and copywriting of 1977
I'm looking for the 70' burger king 3 fat chearleeders burger poster i can't find it anywhere a friend's father had it hanging in his garage when i was a teen funny as hell
I just bid on a poster thinking that it's old. I just found out, they still sell the poster on Walmart and Amazon. Anyway, I learn my lesson. It's a good thing, it's a cheap mistake. Obviously, I'm not an expert.
I just watched your newest livestream. It's best not to put out videos like those. Disgruntled people are going to watch that video and then get the idea to comb through listings of competitors and people they don't like and start reporting their items.
Where would I find out the value for a concert poster? Back in 1981 I took one from a telephone pole advertising a music festival in Northern California, featuring Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Officially cinemas have to destroy it. They give it to the staff so the owner is not catched violating the rule in case some distributer is checking

🤔...This video just definitely helped me to think outside of the box...🤘🏼💯✔️

You seem like the type that worked in a movie theater !! That's a compliment BTW. I did too lol I learned alot 🥰 great video
Great info!!
Hi Don, Awesome video as usual, with the poster is it better to frame them to get a higher price, or no? just curious thanks.

another awesome vid
I have a lot of movie posters from the 80's when I worked at Pacific theatres and I've been getting a lot from my son who works at a theatre now.

Can you suggest where I might get an old Beatles poster (1963) appraised?
An original quad James Bond Dr No poster just sold for 20 thousand dollars at the Propstore, auction, crazy amount of money
I didn't catch what book Uma was reading in the Pulp Fiction poster. Anyways, love your videos! Thank you, and keep them coming!

lol illegal to own posters
As usual! I am grateful 9mce aga8n!
That Soundgarden/Pearl Jam poster is from a club in Houston, TX

FYI Glenn Strange played Frankenstein's monster in A&C meet Frankenstein ✨
Just sold a Jaws poster recently. Worth buying
Fun!!!
Hi! I found an original World War II German wool long green coat with stamping inside. I can send you a picture but do you know the best place to sell something like this?
Hi Don! What is the best and easiest way of photographing posters?
honestly i buy any vintage posters at estate sales. most of what i find is the only one on the market or a different unknown variation.
Great video but a whole category of posters wasn't covered...namely vintage travel/airline posters. Maybe their value is not as high as other categories? Regardless, vintage Pan Am, Eastern, National, Braniff etc airline posters are worth a look see👍
As you can tell Lucas also change around the light saber colors. Vader to red and obi wan to blue.

He said “selling right now” and I got an eBay notification for a phone case sale. It was like Wizardry.
I wish you would have covered how to tell if it is an original, that is The first Star Wars poster you showed.😅 all I saw was sheet A and copywriting of 1977
"That's like.......Your opinion, Man."......The Dude.
The listo?
I'm looking for the 70' burger king 3 fat chearleeders burger poster i can't find it anywhere a friend's father had it hanging in his garage when i was a teen funny as hell
In all seriousness, what’s keeping people from just printing these popular ones in mass and selling them?
I just bid on a poster thinking that it's old. I just found out, they still sell the poster on Walmart and Amazon. Anyway, I learn my lesson. It's a good thing, it's a cheap mistake. Obviously, I'm not an expert.
