Thanks for enlightening me about what this expansion has to bring, loving the play through so far :) I've had this expansion for ages but never got it to the table.
Loving all of the series of Mage Knight, I will get my hands on the Ultimate Edition by the end of the month and learning it from you (and reading rules from a pdf.file) instead of just waiting for it to arrive, will make me start playing it as soon as I get it so thanks a lot and keep it up :)
that's a great question: the answer is yes. You can buy any number of things when you take the 'Interact with Locals' action, as long as you have enough influence to pay for the, [see rule 5 under 'Interacting with locals' in the rulebook]/.
Another nice video, Ricky! Just a note - the portal's +1/2 handsize bonus carries over between rounds, so you should've drawn 6 before Preparation. Also, in Day 2 you could've used Ice Mages to get another blue crystal. But anyways, I'm getting MK withdrawal symptoms just from watching this series!
thanks Tragic! The team did work hard on it.... it gives a lot of new choices. The hate, I think, stems from the final production issues, but you can see frm the playthrough it really turned out just fine.
@@BoxofDelights The funny thing is with the discs being different sizes is that when you play this expansion they are drawn from their own stacks. Them being different sizes has no bearing on the game in anyway, as they are never mixed into the other token stacks. In fact after playing it so many times I can say, that for me anyway, I am glad they are different sizes as it makes sorting so easy during setup. Unlike the other expansion, these were never designed to just be mixed in permanently due to their xp values being so small. Using them in standard scenarios can really unbalance the timing in this game. Besides if you really want to use them, just put them in a draw bag / bowl. It works so well as a fast way to sort and a quick way to see if a token is invalid for you current scenario that I'm convinced they are supposed to be smaller. The entire back lash is kinda ridiculous to me and tends to come from people that do not play often or at all. It should be noted that, there is a new edition soon with everything in one box. So all the expansion content and cards and stuff will be done in a single print run. So that issue, and the card backs and stuff is all gone for new players to MK. It remains to be seen if I will bother upgrading, there are no changes to the old edition GFX or rule wise (as far as I know), but they are adding some new cards to all decks and skills to the heroes. I hope there is a upgrade box I can pick up to snag them at least.
My last tile to reach the hidden valley is blocked by 3 water spaces, and no cards that allow me to pass. So, do I lose? Maybe I need to pick another core tile!?
Hi Ricky. Again a amazing video. Short question : as your forgot the rampaging dragon, i think it will ambush one space before the mage tower, becausethis space has no blocking hills or lakes. So, if you use your guards for taking damage, you will face the dragon again if you go inside the tower. Or, i am wrong?
Not one space before, no; as the rampaging enemy only attacks when BOTH the space you are moving from and the space you are moving to are in range of the ambushing dragon; in this case, the space I am moving from is blocked by the mountains. Hope this helps! R.R.
@@BoxofDelights hi. I do not agree. The rules said for ambush "...the space your hero moves to ..." . Cant find something about the starting space of the hero. Its like the walls in Lost Legion. The last sentence (topic:wall) discribe this in this rule book.
You're right re walls, and I see the comparison. During the design and development I played this way for Ambush, but yes, I see the argument for your case. Interesting one! Thanks, R.R.@@Daniel-xq4le
You seem to play fast, but that must be a side effect of editing. I hope its still a blast for you, narrating as you go! That was a really interesting turn; I always worry about my tempo, and you camping out picking up advanced actions .. nice! Looks like it came together though, will be an awesome last night. As always, thanks for doing this!
I would rather watch this than lord of the rings

Love your videos!!!
Thank you !
If you could generate 12 influence points in the green city, could you have grabbed two advanced actions?

You might have missed it, but I drew the extra card at 19:57. Good tip re the Ice Mages. I'm going to steal that one!
@@BoxofDelights You're right, sorry! My bad. :-)
Wow, you play this game so much better than I do - I wish I knew it as well as you do.
this expansion is so under rated ... it gets a lot of hate for some reason, but I think it is really awesome.

.. and it's makes them easier to separate :D This is the best point ever. We should ask them to make them smaller in the new version too ! Haha!

That is some bad luck; you will need to find a way by exploring and seeking out ways to cross....
Did you remember that faction tokens can be used for 3 influence? Seems like a couple times you could have used that but didn't even consider it.
You're right - I had forgotten the power of the bribe ! Thank you ;)
